Very approachable at this young age for a Bella vintage. Quite extracted and sweet; lots of jammy fruit and plum, with simple but moderate length finish. Hoping this develops with age.

Lots of apricot and apple aromas and flavors, but the peach stands out from start to end. Caramel, slate and lime notes on the long finish. Acid core is there for sure but stays well balanced with the sweetness of this wine. Just getting into its stride.

Aside from being corked (hence no score), this was awful. It was essentially Vicks Forumula 44 cough medicine in a 750ml bottle. Drain pour.

Poured through aerator. Drank over 3 hours and the wine definitely evolved over that time. Bing cherry and dark berry flavors persisted for all three hour. Finish in first hour was dominated by notes of herbs, leather and tobacco, then shifted to earth and minerals by the second hour. Final hour had notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Each time, the finish was extraordinarily long giving quite ample time to let these notes play out on the palate. Impressively smooth and integrated for a wine that's so big and so young. If time permits, pour through an aerator or with a quick decant, but drink this slowly over long period and see how it evolves. Very enjoyable.

Gave it a good splash pour, but could have used decanting or aerator. Lots of swirling required before alcohol subsided. But once it did, rich blueberries and raspberries dominate with undertones of sweet cream and vanilla beans. Long, lush finish.

Wow, almost two years to the day since my last bottle of this. Almost a completely different wine looking back on my last tasting note. This has opened up nicely. Aromas of cigar box, wet earth and smoked meats immediately jump from the glass with just a little swirl. Flavors of rich dark plum and currants follow on the palate. Herbs and berries linger on the long, dry finish.

In a word... WOW! This was outstanding. A good bit of coaxing required to get aromas of roses, dark roast coffee and figs; huge flavor profiles that evolved and changed over 3 hours with coffee, mocha, raspberries, toasted spices and licorice. Long, long finish of anise, oak and spices. Just a stunning wine.

Popped and poured, and was quite closed for a while. Did eventually come around a little bit with lots of coaxing and a couple of hours, though never really opened to the depth and complexity that we had hoped for. Moderate aromas and flavors of dark berry and herb. Finish was lackluster. Disappointing given prior bottle notes and all of the other largely positive reviews.

Definitely nearing end of its life; some noticeable bricking and drinking a bit flat; not much on the nose but cigar box and plum flavors with some cherry twizzler notes; didn't evolve much beyond this over course of 3 hours

Last of my half case. Has been exactly a year since the last bottle. Looking back at those notes, we had high expectations but this bottle seemed muted and tame by comparison. Much closer to other reviews than what we had last Christmas.

Time to drink up. This one is reaching the end of the line. Not aa complex as last bottle from a year ago. Cedar and cigar box are prevalent. Got some dried meats and earthy nitew but not near what previous bottle notes indicate. It was a good run.

Slate and honeysuckle aromas immediately jumped out upon opening the bottle and were front and center in the glass; Lemon drops and honey crisp apples dominate on the palette; finish of candied orange peel and honey prevalent on long, creamy finish.

Even after pouring thru aerator, took a lot coaxing to get anything out of this wine. Dried berries and dark cherries were all that I could muster with a slight anise finish. Not sure if this is going to develop into anything special. Wait and see.

Alcohol burn has subsided considerably since last bottle from 2 years ago. Black cherry, pepper and earth aromas and flavors on a long, dry finish. Hoping this continues to evolve for another year to two.

A couple years since the last bottle has done wonders for this. Decanted for 1 hour before drinking. Medium to full body, currant and dark berry aromas and flavors with licorice, plum and oak notes on a moderately long finish.

This has come around nicely and is probably right at the end of it's sweet spot. Great fruit flavors with tannins and acidity that are just barely holding on making for a good balance. Drink it up now.

Absolutely stunning. Started out with petrol and slate aromas, and flavors as though it was only a 2 or 3 year old auslese. As it warmed, it turned into a bomb of apricot, honey and lemon drops. Probably the most dense auslese I've ever had. Very near TBA as others have said. The finish just never quits. Crazy good.

As others have said, this was a tannin bomb. One of the driest cali cabs that I can remember drinking in recent history. Lots coaxing finally got to a deep, dark fruits plus some hints of cherry and smoky oak. Drank the other half on day 2 and it was like a complete different wine. Very open with immediate coffee and mocha on the nose, then plenty of ripe fruit flavors. Not overly complex for its price point, but definitely needs time in the bottle.

This is nicely within the sweet spot of its drinking window. Did not decant but gave it a good splash-pour into the glass. Aromas and flavors continue to be to totally consistent with previous bottles but tannin and acid have scaled back to make for excellent, effortless tasting. Cherries dominate with slightest licorice tone to it. Cigar box, leather, earth and dried herbs all distinct and nicely layered on a long, savory finish. Had with chicken parmesan. Drinking window is right in that this will be in its sweet spot for only another year or two.

This was closed up pretty tightly even after a pour through aerator. Should have read the other reviews like others warned about this shutting down. Lots of swirling even and it was still hard to coax anything meaningful out of the this. Acid and tannin bomb. But left half of the bottle sitting overnight and it was singing 24 hours later. Delicious ripe berries with candied plum, leather, herbal and pepper notes. Remaining bottles may have to sit for a while.

classic petrol and slate aromas upon uncorking; big flavors of apple pie and lemon drops; long, sweet finsh with notes of honey and caramel; acidity stood out but should come into balance over the many years this has ahead of it making it even better than it is now; looks as though 2015 is definitely living up to the hype

Opened two bottles for NYE, poured through aerator and drank over course of 3 hours. Started off with great aromas and flavors of raspberry jam and plums,. though closed down after about 30 minutes. Lots of swirling required to coax this back to life where ripe berries and pepper notes filled the glass and palate followed by notes of dry soil, tar and herbs. So glad I bought a couple of extra bottles last month as this will definitely be singing after a couple of more years.

Very smooth on the palate with tannins nicely integrated; smokiness of cab franc dominates here and probably could have been scaled back in favor of more merlot or cab sauv, but a solid wine that is drinking very nicely.

Poured through aerator and still needed an hour for hotness to blow off. Beautiful floral and berry aromas. Cherries and sweet berry flavors. Spice, pepper and vanilla notes on long, long finish. The range of this wine is just huge. At first sip, it's big bodied with a youthful tang and lots going on, but finishes with a light, delicate residual sweetness and range of flavors that makes it a true standout from the other great OR Pinots of this vintage. Deserves all the praise and points that it's gotten.

Poured through aerator and still took an hour to start opening up but really needed two to three hours in the glass to really show its stuff. Once it did fully come around, aromas and flavors of cherries and rich, ripe fruits. Notes of earthy spices, vanilla and licorice. Tannins were in check even right out of the bottle making for a very smooth and silky mouth feel. Delicious.
