This was my WOTN for NYE2016. Drinking well right now - a BIG wine... With plenty of fruit... Silky mouth... still youthful. Drank from a mag. Lucky to have 2 more

This is the perfect Napa Cab for me. A bit pricey, but there's not a thing I'd change about the wine. Sampled using the Coravin tool... So will try this bottle a few more times this year. Big fruit yet not overpowering... silky mouth, long finish. This is an exciting wine

This was the overall #2 bottle in blind tasting group of 8 that includes 2007 Screaming Eagle, 2004 Colgin IX, 2002 Pahlmeyer, 2002 Bond, 2001 HEITZ Martha's Vineyard

This wine held it's own in a blind tasting of 8 fantastic Napa Cabs from 2001-2007. This was my WOTN... Most of the group had the Screaming Eagle in their top 3. Overall very well balanced wine... beautiful noise... silky tannins and fruit. WONDERFUL
The wine looks Inky colored. The legs are Medium.

Fantastic! This wine requires a 1hr+ decant. Just delightful

Beautiful floral nose... Silky and smooth. Pulled this bottle out with another couple and proclaimed "well... You'll never find this bottle anywhere else!" (Production is just 100 cases). I was pleasantly surprised by this wine... perhaps lacking a bit in overall complexity... but truly a crowd pleaser.

Drank out of a magnum - We thought this was fantastic! Very easy drinking (not much alcohol coming through)... super smooth and fruitful. No decant.

Good but not GREAT. A different bottle than the one I drank a few weeks ago. Brick in color. Popped and poured. Initial nose was lovely... But started to fall off fast. Chased this bottle down... Was a bit disappointed.

A great pinot noir from one of my favorite vineyards. A lot of heat right out of the bottle. Settled down after an hour or so. Same silkiness as the 2009 but is missing something. Will be interested to taste '09 and '10 side by side... but my guess is this bottle doesn't compare. I'm going to wait a year to open the next one.

Delicious. I would have guessed this was a 2001. Perfect balance... beautiful structure. This was a very special bottle.

This wine is still alive! I popped and poured a glass... It was great right out of the bottle. The nose is classic Silver Oak. The wine lost something over 3 hours in the decanter... So I'd recommend a pop and pour... And if you have any... Drink it now.

This is really a fantastic Cab and it's drinking GREAT right now. Had at Tiro a Segno in NYC. Decanted for about 45 minutes. Was up against a 2005 Staglin, a 1991 Stag's Leap Cask 23 and a 1985 Chateau Lynch Bages. This was overwhelmingly viewed as the WOTN. Big bold fruit... just an outright crowd pleaser. The Cask 23 was a distant second.

Wow! The 2009 West Slope was the clear winner of our New Year's Eve dinner. Tasted against the Peter Michael Le Caprice '09 (also a fantastic Pinot). Beautiful aromas, black cherry fruit... Each sip seemed to develop new characteristics. A highly complex young Pinot. Very enjoyable... A truly outstanding wine.

Tasted and then decanted for about an hour. Opened up nicely. Distinct nose... then fruit... a smooth but unmemorable finish. Didn't leave as much of an impression as the 2001 which I enjoyed earlier in the week... But to be fair, drank the '01 at a fine restaurant with dinner vs having the '97 at home with pizza. An excellent wine non the less.
