A favorite Rose' of ours... The blend is 62% Mourvèdre, 21% Grenache, and 17% Syrah and both the nose and palate are true to the blend. A refreshing rose' on a warm day when served slightly chilled. Some tartness coupled with fruit and light spice is a real pleaser to the palate.

Open and a brief decant and surprisingly that was all it needed to shine. Dark berries, plum and botanicals on the nose. Medium+ in body with rich flavors and red fruits, black pepper and a finish that was lasting with a spice and herbal hint. An outstanding CdP especially for the price.

A solid Rhone style blend of 60% Petit Sirah and the rest Syrah. A dark purple and very fruit forward on initial approach. As the wine sat the stark fruit gave way to plum like flavors and an herb finish. A really nice blend and scream to be paired with food.

This wine has really unfolded especially with a little air time. Rich cherry and strawberry on the nose. The palate is layered with red fruits, spices and a small mineral hint of the finish. This really went well with grilled chicken thighs and mashed potatoes.

A real nice mid week bottle of wine.

Nose of dark fruits with some blueberry, plum and black cherry. A palate that showcased the fruit with just enough oak and tannin to hold it together. A tad thin on the mid-palate and an OK finish.

Paired with homemade pizza on the wood grill and it was nice.

A young but really nice Pinot! I agree with KJD45$, open this for yourself or folks that can appreciate the multiple flavors and layers.

Nose of red raspberry, cherry, earthy spices. The palate is medium+ in body with layers of red fruits, earth and spices. The tannin structure is still pretty tight and a tad astringent but the juicy fruit shines though.

Although quite good now a few years in the cellar should prove worthwhile!

We did a side by side tasting of the 2014 Tri and the 2017 Tri so it was a good day.

The 2014 is drinking very well and this GSM is full bodied with plenty of red fruit like cherry and raspberry, black pepper with hints of Eucalyptus. Well balanced with a lush mouth feel, just outstanding.

The 2017 was noticeably lighter in body and fruits. The pepper from the Syrah is well presented but the other flavors were a tad mute as this stage. The acids were also more pronounced leaving this slightly out of balance. Still a good wine, easy to drink but needs food to round it out. I have a few more bottles and I am sure we will enjoy them next year.

I looked back at previous notes and found I paired this very similar a year ago and its still a typical yet classic pairing. This go around I used a wagyu strip steak and it was good with this wine.

Again not really complex just a bold wine that had great flavors of black fruits, some mineral and plenty of soft oak. Typical for Paso but the 2014 reserve is cellaring well and still good to go for years.

This is a good Pinot with fresh pure fruit and well balanced acid & tannin. Medium+ in body and a finish that has a wonderful hang time.

Enjoyed along with a 2018 Gary's Vineyard so yea, a really good day!

This is loaded with fresh cherry, raspberry and touches of red current. A nice amount of herbal flavors combined with its fresh acidity really made this a nice food wine. Paired with grilled salmon after an hour decant and my mouth was watering hours after dinner!

What a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir and at such a young age.

Layers of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry along side soft minerality and herbal flavors. Well balanced and integrated and provided hours of Pinot enjoyment!

I can see this going higher with time but already is a good place.

Staying with previous notes and score but over the last 2 years this has begun its transition and the enjoyment window is closing IMO.

A tad more bricking around the edges and the fruits have begun to fade but still delivers a nice blend that is really best with food.

Beautiful Syrah blend that really delivers.

Opened and decanted for 1 hour - Aroma of black cherry, herbs and light spice. The palate is full and grippy yet soft and lush. Black fruits with herbal flavors that melt into tobacco, pepper and oak spices. Well balanced and layers of fruit, herbs, spice and minerality.

A decent Cali Cabernet. PnP from a 375ml bottle.

Dark in color with a nose that was soft yet full of black fruit and hints of oak. Palate was similar with juicy black fruits and oak spices.

A good cab but it did not have any WOW factor for me.

A great bottle and pure Grenache.

Fantastic nose of black fruits and spice with some pepper. The palate is lush and well integrated and drinking very well. Black fruits with a nice raspberry mid palate followed by a smooth oak finish.

Paderewski Vineyard is well established and owned by EPOCH but also supplies Saxum winery, a real Paso treat!

One of the finest Pinot's I have tasted this year and I have tasted some very good Pinots. Opened and decanted for 45 minutes and had 4 hours of pure enjoyment.

Both the nose and palate are soft yet firm with red fruits, oak and the perfect balance of tannin and acid. Its this balance that gives this wine such a lush, soft and just enough firmness mouth feel.

Many great wines come from the RRV and this one is truly a stand out.

Time makes all the difference...

Fresh red fruits and soft yet firm tannin has really improved in this specific wine. Red cherry, strawberry and enough oak and earthy goodness made this is a real easy wine to enjoy.

I do love ROAR and look forward to trying more of their 2018 vintage wines!

A real summer crowd pleaser even at this young age.

Very crisp with tart green apples and stone fruits. As it warms there is a creamy lemon backed by some minerality and acids that round this out very nicely. Paired with a smoked salmon dip that seemed to help the bottle disappear!

I have become a fan of the Garganega grape for a nice summer wine.

My first bottle and it did not disappoint.

Decanted for 1.5 hours and served with a wagyu Manhattan roast and the pairing was perfect. This wine needs a big protein.

Dark black fruits, chocolate, smoke and a floral mid palate. Finish was a tad hot but complimented with layers of new leather and oak spices, quite nice and should only improve in the coming years.

A real pleasure Pinot Noir.

Bright ruby in the glass with aroma of tart cherry, raspberry, cola and mild earthy notes. On the palate the bright fruits shine through with the cherry, strawberry and cola leading the way. Mild yet detectable tannin with a nice balance of acids and alcohol.

I did not decant but took several hours to consume and as it had air time the wine became even more enjoyable.

My first swing with this producer and it was very enjoyable but not a stunner.

Aroma's of black fruits, cassis and hints of vanilla. The palate was soft with resolved tannins, nice black fruits and finished with the oak imparted vanilla. Not a complex wine but easy to enjoy. This would pair nicely with mild proteins as the big juicy steaks would over take the wine. .

A light pale yellow with scents of pear, pineapple and wet stone. The palate is crisp and refreshing. A nice mix of pear, apple, pineapple along with wet stone or minerals with quite the vibrant acidity.

A really nice Chardonnay and it is drinking quite well now.

A slightly darker yellow with a bright nose of citrus fruits and spices. The palate is medium+ in body and very lush with a soft mouth feel. Plenty of citrus fruits, pineapple and Asian spices. A pretty long buttery finish that lingers and refreshes.

The wine opens with an aroma of fresh peach and apricot syrup, pineapple, and hints of banana!

In the glass the wine is a pale yellow with good clarity. The palate is light to medium bodied (14% ABV) and bursts of tropical and white fruits that complement the vivid acidity. Fermented in stainless steel this wine pairs well with summer fare including seafood, cheese, and fruit tarts at dessert time.

A solid Cabernet but non wow factor.

Decanted for an hour and paired with a ribeye and it was a good pairing! Typical cabernet aromas of black current, leather and spices. The palate is full bodied with the black fruits, leather, pencil shavings and an oak finish. Quite good but not complex and perhaps slightly over extracted.

I picked up this wine at a great discount which made it nicer. If I had paid full retail I may not have liked it as much.

PnP and enjoyed with friends.

Quite dark in the glass which is consistent with Syrah. Nose was a tad jammy but packed with dark fruits and very pleasing.

The palate is lush and full bodied. Flavors of black and blue berry with hints of smoky earth and oak. I agree this wine is not very complex but I don't procure some of his wines for their complexity. This seems a tad over extracted but I like the fruits and its easy to drink and enjoy.

A very refreshing wine and it paired well with spicy sushi. The Grüner Veltliner grape is a new experience and will be revisited again.

A light yellow with a hint of green color in the glass. A nice nose of citrus fruit like lime, lemon and hints of peach.

A light bodied wine with high acidity that makes your mouth water wanting one more sip. Lemon, lime, peach and a slight nutty finish. A perfect patio wine with or without food.

Very enjoyable right now!

This will benefit from decanting but not totally required. The nose opens with notes of black fruits, chocolate, leather and a slight green pepper.

The palate is full of smooth and silky tannin and while full bodied it has a lushness in the mouth. Dark fruits, earthy elements, tobacco and a smooth finish with hints of green pepper.

This guy started slow but really opened up and performed above its price point!

Nose of dark fruits like blueberry and black current with hints of vanilla from the oak.

Palate was quite balanced with fresh black fruits, leather, mushroom and spices. Finish was a tad short but this is drinking very well and is easy to pair with beefy proteins.

A good value wine from a fun producer!

A huge fan of KB wines and this did not disappoint but it didn't WOW me either.

Even after an hour in the glass the nose never really opened up. I did find some cherry, raspberry and hints of oak.

On the palate this was decently balanced with a slight acidic streak. Red fruits are front and center with Asian spices and oak spices. I did not find the multi-layered style of other KB wines but this was very enjoyable and went well with lo-mien dish.

A young wine no doubt but as a fan of their AVA series I had to test drive the Dundee Hills Pinot.

Opened with a minimal decant. A nose of red fruits and coffee, lots of coffee. The palate with singular and had the same coffee notes. I really expected the coffee notes a wonder off but they hung the entire time.

Needs a year or so but I was left with more questions than the feeling of Pinot enjoyment on this one.

A really nice Mourvedre with just a touch of Grenache to round it out. EPOCH does not make this wine every year and the 2017 was a good choice on their part.

This wine is full bodied with an ABV pushing 16% but its drinking pretty light and right at the moment. Flavors of dark plum and leather stand out with a spicy finish. Needs a good decant to let the oak and tannin settle a bit.

Patience is rewarded!

What a really nice Rhone style blend. The 2017 vintage is the first with Petite Sirah as the leading grape followed by Mourvedre, Syrah and Granache.

Pretty dang dark in color with layered flavors of blueberry and peppery oak imparted spices. There is ample tannin and acids to keep this running for several years and it will still need an hour in the decanter IMO.

This is young but tasty already. Enjoyed alone but then pair with a NY Strip and you guessed it, it was really good!

This was a flyer on my part and it was a good one!

Although a tad young this wine is punching way above its weight especially at this price point. Retail around $60 which is not cheap its drinking like a $120+ bottle of Cabernet. Sleeper keeps their vineyards under wraps but it seems to be of high quality.

Opened and decanted for an hour and then enjoyed over several hours. Dark purple with a nose of black fruit, black current and elements of leather and spice, quite intoxicating.

On the palate this guy is lush and packed with black fruits and a decent amount of oak. Well balanced but more than enough acids and tannin to keep this bottle evolving for the next 5 to 8 years.

Last tasted in 2020 and staying with the same rating. This was another PnP and although it expresses Grenache the wine leaves me a tad empty. I would guess minimal extraction leaving a more simple CdP.

Perhaps a couple hour decant would help but having tasted this the following day I am not sure that would help elevate this wine to a higher rating.

The 2013 is showing signs of age in color and aroma but in a good way. The bottle was PnP and displayed a ruby bricking color in the glass. The aroma of faint red fruits with stewed strawberry and hints of black olive.

The palate was very similar and although the bright red fruits were there they are subdued allowing the secondary flavors to shine. Medium body and nicely balanced.

Vertical Tasting of Colene Clemens Adriane Pinot Noir (Boulder, Colorado): Popped and poured as part of a vertical tasting of 2014 to 2016 – Great fruit on both the nose and palate with this vintage. Staying similar to past vintages the bright cherry and strawberry and ever present at the approach. A bigger body than some previous vintages at Medium++. The fruit and structure of this wine is apparent and that balance is almost there with a slight acidic edge that will soften in short order. The Asian spice on the finish is present and it lingers just enough to make this memorable.

Lasted enjoyed 1 year ago and I am keeping my score of 96 points.

Decanted for 1 hour this time and it was ready to go. Nose remains similar with of black fruits, cedar, graphite and a hint of smoke.

The palate remains beautiful and very well balanced. The complexity of layers from sip to swallow is amazing. Flavors of blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry. Towards the end the cedar and oak come though with a continued finish of herb's and licorice.

I'll sit on my other bottle for a year or two then enjoy what it has to offer then.
