Similar to the tasting notes of others....

PnP wand consumed over several hours. Dark purple with limited clarity. On the nose you are met with wet barnyard and then you get to the rich red and black fruits.

On the palate its similar, the wet barnyard is very noticeable but fades after some time to reveal the dark fruit, spice and hints of pepper.

I can see why the barnyard is a block for some but I almost enjoyed it :) I will let me other bottle set for a few years and see if this intensifies or mellows out.

DAY 3. The bottle was vacuumed and sat at RT for a couple of days. On this day the wine was amazing! Still some hints of barnyard but very pleasant. The dark fruits were more subdued but the spices and black pepper were much more prominent. Vary balanced with a very generous finish.

A decent CdP but this requires air time. PnP and first impression was not that good. Nothing wrong with the wine just light, closed and non-existent.

After about an hour or so the aroma and flavor profile started to come into focus. Dark red fruits, mineral and olive flavors emerged. After several hours this pulled into a decent position and the finish became longer.

Not a stellar CdP but decent especially if you can score some below the retail price point.

Same rating and notes as in 2016.

I just love sipping this wine on the patio on a cool evening by the fire. Several layers to enjoy, well balanced and a decently long finish.

I enjoy the Pommard Clone and this vintage does not disappoint.

Darker purple with limited clarity. Rich aromas of dark cherry with a meaty and earthy side.

Decently balanced at this age with flavors of dark cherry, oak spices, light smoke, hint of cola and that meaty finish. The flavors blend nicely and drinking well already.

Lasted tasted a year ago almost to the day. This last year has been good for this wine and its freshness is pronounced.

A very nice representation of Sonoma Coast Pinot. Light burgundy color, good clarity and a nose full of ripe red cherry, ceder and oak imparted spices.

A really nice showing of a Pinot Noir Rose'

A clear yet nicely colored Rose'. A nose of white peach, watermelon and red fruits.

Well balanced with a palate of white peach, lavender, sweet watermelon and just a kiss of oak. Excellent alone or with a snack, a great summer Rose' although Rose' is not just for summer!

Solid Granache but starting its descent...

PnP with a quick decant in the glass. Dark purple with a nice nose of juicy red fruits with earthy scents.

Lush on the palate with red fruits and hints of prune and mature earthy flavors. The longer this sat in the glass the earthy flavors began to over take the fruits.

Nicely balanced and decent finish but I see this as fading pretty quickly.

Popped a tad early but has to see what was under the hood!

Quick mini decant in the glass and with a few swirls the aroma was seet red cherry with some ceder wood.

A very lush wine with red cherry and oak underpinnings. This is not a complex wine and lacks several layers of fruit, spice and minerals but it is young a very tasty right now!

Opened and decanted for 2 hours.

A darker Pinot with good clarity. The nose is giving up red berry, some clove and oak imparted spice.

On the palate this vintage is spot on and drinking well and this young age. This is not a hold for 10 years wine but a few more years in the cellar will only improve this 2016 vintage.

Paired with rosemary stuffed pork tenderloin and it was perfect. The balanced acids and alcohol met the pork and Rosemary filling with balance and flavor explosion!

A really nice Canernet that is drinking well and above its weight class.

Dark purple with no clarity. A nice aroma of black cherry, cassis and red plum followed by spice and vanilla.

Smooth and balanced with dark fruits, spices and plenty of oak imparted vanilla. Not too much thankfully but enough to round this out and keep it in a balanced sweet spot.

Found this for well below community price and that makes this a winner in my book.

Popped a tad early but was not disappointed at all.

A beautiful Tuscan blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Petit Verdot, 20% Cabernet Franc.

A slight brett aroma upon opening and it quickly blew off reveling black fruits, plum, cigar box and dusty mineral. Balanced throughout and a nice finish.

Drinking very well

A year later and same rating for me.

This GSM is quite nice in both wine quality and price. Just another reason why I like exploring the Pacific Northwest.

Still needs some time in a decanter or glass but the red fruits, mineral and earth flavors emerge nicely. Great balance and layers of complexity completes the wine.

A nice showing but my expectations were not met or they were to high.... seems more investigation is needed!

A medium to light purple with good clarity. Nose of red cherry, strawberry and subtle earthy moss.

Decently balanced with a slight edge to the acids. The red fruits are primary with some light cola and earth to round out the palate.

IMO this wine benefits from pairing with food with ease the acids then its a very easy drinking Pinot.

Keeping the same 91 point rating as last year.

A solid wine with substantial red and black fruits with plenty of vanilla... boarding on to much but didn't cross the line.

Out of the single vineyard line up of Flora Springs wines of this vintage this is the least giving but popping the wine still leads to enjoyment!

Cheers

PnP with some time in the glass before hours of sipping.

Medium purple with good clarity. A muted nose but scents of black fruits and mineral rose up from the glass.

On the palate this was still pretty tight. At this stage there is little complexity which is fine at this price, However the fruits are still muted and not giving up what they have to offer. Seems balanced with a slight acetic edge IMO.

Time in the bottle or a good 2+ hour decant next go-round. Again, at this price point its a good wine so expectations should be matched,

A nice representation of a Pinot Rose'.

Some folks may be surprised by its dark color but no worries, its a rose'. This had a longer maceration period so the color is darker but the gentle flavors of light cherry, watermelon and some hints of white fruits round this out nicely.

Balanced and goes very well with light snacks or a grilled salmon dinner.

This is an easy drinking and very enjoyable wine, especially if you can score some at $30 or less.

Typical dark purple in the glass for a Napa/Sonoma Cabernet. A nice nose of black fruits, herbal scents and oak. On the palate the dark fruits and oak imparted spices are nicely mingled. A decent amount of acids and tannin keeps this wine together and makes it easy to enjoy alone or with food.

I ended up buying a few more given its price and quality attributes. Not over complex at all but at this price point I am enjoying what I am tasting.

First bottle of this vintage and its drinking quite well.

PnP and allowed to decant in the glass. Dark color with dark fruits of black cherry, fresh plum and a pepper trail on the nose.

The palate was pleased! The black cherry and plum carried over to the palate with a nice spice/pepper on the mid palate. The longer this sits open the more integrated and balanced this became. The finish was medium long and this has more body than one would expect, nice with food.

Opened after a very disappointing 2002 Quilceda Creek and this made up for it.

Still some green stem on the initial nose but after an hour or two this wine develops quite well. Same score and notes and noted before.

I have to agree with the other CT member who said this was flat. I was so disappointed that this did not show well at all. Its not vinegar but zero nose, aroma or taste. I tasted upon opening and after a few hours and there was no growth in this wine.

I have had this vintage before and found it outstanding but this was beyond its drinking life.

This is a very nice Rhone style blend and at a very nice price point. 55% Syrah 28% Mourvedre, 15% Petite Sirah and 2% Viognier.

Dark color with no clarity. Brooding aroma's of black fruits, slight coffee and a touch of funk.

After an hour in the decanter the funk blew off and the dark fruits including blueberry came though. Hints of coffee, mocha and oak spices round it out. Medium body and very balanced with just a touch of heat. A decent finish that lingered for 5+ seconds.

Good QPR in my opinion.

My second bottle of this vintage and it is drinking very well now and should only get better.

Typical Holy Smoke with dark purple to almost black. Dark fruits, spice and vanilla on the nose.

Full bodied, balanced tannin, acid and alcohol and an extreme joy to sip. Pair this with a good steak or even a meat pizza and you will be enjoying this even more.

Day 3 this was still quite good. A little soft in the middle but good fruit and vanilla mix on the palate.

This has been a great wine at a pretty good price point. I have been drinking my way through a case of Margo and they are all very consistent and tasty.

Medium clear purple, good nose of red cherry, baking spice and a touch of earth.

Decently balanced with good acidity. On the palate you get the touch of earth first but followed by ripe red cherry and a gentle spice box. A touch of acidity on the finish but nice flavor hand time.

A quality Pinot

Young and tasty wine that needs some air time to fully deliver. Syrah dominate with Grenache and Mourvedre'.

Dark purple with a nose of black fruit and hints of vanilla. On the palate its balanced with good acidity, soft flavors of blackberry and dark fruits. A warm and decent finish.

This is a tasty and juicy wine from a great Vintner. Its simple yet a great bottle. The price range of $52 - $55 keeps out of the QPR range but a decent blend none the less.

Appropriate color, balance and flavors. Slightly lower acidity but with food this is even better!

A nice Right Bank Blend at a very nice price.

Young and needs air time. Dark purple with limited clarity. Nose is somewhat muted but offers red cherry and subtle spice.

The palate is clean, balanced but also muted. It gives red fruits and cedar and some earth. This is still pretty closed and not complex but it pairs nicely with food after a couple of hours in the decanter.

Tried some on day 2 to see how it did under vacuum.... Not much left but it was still delivering some base fruit flavors.

A nice QPR wine no doubt.

This Alexana Zena Crown is young but has amazing structure.

Bright ruby red with soft red fruits and some hints of Nutmeg on the nose.

The tannin's are polish but remain tight so plenty of air time is needed. Once at temperature and fully oxygenated the wines relaxes and allows the red fruits and spices to emerge.

Needs more time but this wine is full of fruit and structure and best with food due to its tightness IMO.

The 2014 La Pommeraie has been a consistent and great vintage.

Bright ruby red with good clarity. Aroma's of red cherry, spices and red currents.

Lighter body with balanced acid, tannin and alcohol. Bright juicy red fruits, smooth mouth feel and a finish of spices with good hang time.

By far this is the most consistent Estate vintage. I have the Estate wines from 2005 though 2014 and the 2007 has maintained a 93 point score for me.

A shorter decant of 1 hours and paired with a ribeye steak. Same dark color, same beautiful aroma of black fruits, leather and spices and same palate of fruits, spices and hints of vanilla with medium tannin and balanced acids & alcohol.

Great wine now and should be for several more years.

This wine is starting to emerge and drink very well.

A blend of 2 blocks and almost a year on 46% new oak. The oak imparted spices are nicely integrated with the red fruits pn both the nose and the palate.

Medium bodied with red cherry, clove and a slight baking spice. The lighter tannin and seamless alcohol are making this easy to sip and enjoy.

As I read some of the other notes the one theme that rings true for me is air time.

PnP and enjoyed right away. Nose had the signature Antica Terra red fruits and funky earth which is very enjoyable. A tad disjointed on first attack but as this sat in the glass it opened up. Red fruits, earthy and hints of clove and oak spices.

Day 2 this wine was amazing. So lush and integrated. All of the funky earth elements were more subdued and the red fruits were back in primary position. Medium ++ in body with great fruits and spices on the finish.

Drinking very well with additional air time. Just a gorgeous wine.

A year later and still gorgeous and still at 93 points.

About an hour decant and paired with prime rib.

Beautiful nose of black and red fruits, currant, baking spice and a small herbal hint.

Well integrated tannin, very balanced in acids and alcohol. Full bodied with black fruits, oak spices, all spice and a rich long finish.

Drinking prime now and glad I have one more.

Dark, very dark purple in the glass with aroma of black fruits and coffee. Fairly one dimensional.

This Pinot needed some air time and when it got it, it was beautiful.

Translucent purple in the glass, aroma's of red cherry, earthy mushroom and cranberry.

On the palate you notice the acids and alcohol are well balanced and allows the red fruits and cherry to emerge at the forefront.

I don't think this is a wine I would age to much longer although it has several more years and sweet spot enjoyment.

Dark purple very limited clarity. Nose of dark fruits, coffee, mocha and spices.

Enjoyed with grilled filet, a great paring.

So the hype around this wine is not wrong.

PnP and stood in the glass for 30 minutes. Nice purple with good clarity, aroma of red & black cherry, oak spices and minimal earthy elements.

Already nicely balanced, clean yet lush in the mouth. Flavors of red & black cherry, some dark blue fruits, cranberry, oak spices and a slight candied finish that is quite pleasant.

This is a fantastic QPR wine and will cellar well for a few years. Not built for the long haul so that means plenty of enjoyment over the next several year!

Cheers to Colene Clemens!

In a word, Disappointing. Still pretty tight and more tannin then most other Pinot's. However there is a metallic component in this wine. I am very sure this was not flawed, it just did not develop well in the bottle.

Great Pinot, exactly what one would expect from a well crafted wine. However, the price point of this gem versus the enjoyment of the wine are a little out of balance IMO.

Bright red cherry, subtle yet present acidity and a nice finish makes this a wonderful Pinot. Perhaps more bottle time will bring this out more.

This bottling of Pride is coming along very well.

Decanted for 1.5 hours and the wine has relaxed and is opening up. Soft aroma of black cherry, oak spices and hints of new leather. I am not finding the herbal scents as in my previous bottle.

Nicely balanced, medium+ in body and a lush mouth feel. Black current, red fruits, some ceder and vanilla leads to the semi long finish.

This vintage is a great example of aged versus young wine. It is a joy to drink and explore even if you prefer younger or fresher wine like I tend too.

Opened and decanted for an hour. I did not decant longer because of its age. After 15 years in the bottle it has been exposed to some oxygen over time so giving it a lot more will only increase its downward timeline.

Still a dark purple in the center but nice bricking along its watery edge. Aroma's of black fruit with prune, dried herb and perhaps raisin.

On the palate this is well balanced, the tannin's are pretty resolved, the Alcohol is tame and the acids are in balance with the above. Flavors of prune, black fruits and dried herb make-up the majority of the taste. You can taste the layers and enjoying this wine with and without food was amazing. The flavor profile changed with the additional of fats or acids from food which is why I loved tasting this guy!

Overall I tend to enjoy younger or fresher wines but this aged beautifully and its complex layers are still present albeit getting dimmer. This was my 5th bottle and my last but I really enjoyed the years of drinking pleasure this gave me.

Its wine like this that makes the journey in wine so exciting to me!

In my opinion, if you have some drink them up you will not be disappointed. This is a well made quality wine that has entered the twilight year and does not have much more to give.

Cheers
