For a bottle approaching $40, this is heavy on the alchohol and light on the taste.

This has been our go-to red for about a year now. For the price we haven't found anything better. It's like the inexpensive house wine you have when on vacation in Italy that's always great.

1/14/24, 6:06 PM - This and earlier vintages...They don't last long enough to age in the cellar so have never compared vintages.

2017 Blind Creek Collective Chardonnay Similkameen Valley VQA
This tastes like a generic oaky chardonnay, but unfortunately it's one of the more expensive BC white wines we've ever bought. Not impressed with quality-for price.

11/14/22, 6:20 AM - We bought from winery in spring 2022, not sure when they released it though so it may be something they stored. Never compared with Road 13 chardonnay. Would have been interesting.

Had forgotten about this one off cellar purchase, and just had over wkd. Cork was crumbling but seemed like no leakage. Wine was pretty bad though, major alcohol on the nose and taste. Tawny color, LOTS of sediment. Didn't get better with additional decanting time on day one. Couldn't drink much more so saved rest in hope it gets better but I'm not holding out. Maybe it was good years ago, I only had this one bottle....

We had the sauv blanc version of this wine and it was very enjoyable. It was a second bottle of the night, drank after a classic rombauer chardonnay which costs 10x the price. In the summertime for a patio wine, I'd take this over the rombauer, which is one of our favorite whites.

10/16/16, 9:48 AM - We bought one a while back in the states, but got a second a few months back at the bcls flagship store in Victoria.

Was just at the terminal park store, and some high end Napa cabs at par prices with US now. I almost bought a $150 bottle of wine thinking it was a 'good value' for a wine tasting in 10 yrs or so:). I didn't though...

Combines the rich flavour of an amarone with the pleasant sweetness of a Marsala.

10/16/16, 9:43 AM - This was one of the two Nero davolas I bought from everything wine that I mentioned to you earlier.

Ill buy this one again for sure.

I will buy this again, it's a wonderful wine.
The wine looks light gold colored. It smells like lemon and apricot. It tastes like grapefruit and apple. The body is light/medium. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

- Ruby color and aromas of black currant and molasses and has flavours of dusty and apricot with a light/medium body. Leathery texture with a medium finish - For the price 17.99 CDN this is a great wine. I will buy this again.

1/5/16, 2:37 PM - my wife and i did a greek wine tour way back in 2002 where we visited the boutari estates. we've got a small collection (most of it coming from everything wine), but apart from one white and the boutari naoussa, its all been disappointing.

A good chardonnay for the price. Bought on a solid recommendation from a sales guy at the wine shop. Will get some more.

For a wine that's supposedly years past its prime, it opened up nicely. Had that complex chalky tannic taste that I really like, but this really only developed after 3+ hours.

10/2/15, 2:16 PM - very much. do you do any wine-related events here? Lucky's has regular tastings. My wife likes going, and I occasionally join.

Some of the island wines are nice too - any personal preferences?..wait i can see your cellar...seems you like the italian reds. We've been treating ourselves to the Masi Amarone while its been 'on sale' locally.

A very young cab blend (with a touch of carmenere and syrah), but one that I thought was excellent, and has definite ageing potential. Looking for more. Wish I was still living in the US with easy access to wine :(

4/13/15, 6:48 PM - not sure what happened with the sudden price jump - i thought i was probably overpaying at $50Can/bottle, and now its over $60.

Wife and I were very happy with this Meritage blend. Bought on a whim from winebid, and had 2/3 of it during a weekend at a fire lookout.
The day after we took the remaining third over to our neighbors place (former wine shop owners in CA) who immediately recognized the label. By that time it had gone a bit raisin-y and flat, but still enjoyable.
Tried to get a few more the following week, but was outbid at the last minute!

(this tasting note is for the 2005 Kiamie Meritage Blend...I had it incorrectly labelled when I imported into CT...sorry)
  • footloosiety commented:

7/8/13, 9:07 AM - Actually just realized we had the 2005 'Meritage Blend' and not the Cab Sauv.
