So sad this was my last bottle of this monster. Each one got better over the eight years I drank them and I'm sure this wine has many more years to mature. Just a fantastic wine.

Thoroughly enjoyed this although I am not a frequent Bordeaux drinker. The fruit seemed a bit muted after a two hour decant, but it started really coming around at about 3 hours and a glass or two in the gullet. This was the first of my six bottles I obtained in '07 so it will be interesting to revisit this over the next ten/fifteen years.

Not sure what to say....the wine, the letter from Dave, the relevance to our times in this country right now...all perfect. I enjoyed the "The" and the "Revolution" bottles tonight for my 52nd birthday with my wife and three adult children. It was a fantastic night so while I won't go into the details of the wine, I will just say to those who might ask--save this one for a special occasion and read the letter from Dave before hand. It's really perfect in a lot of ways.

This wine was truly special...glad I waited this long to drink it. I am no expert but I don't think this will last much longer at this quality.

Fantastic zin blend...one of the best I've tasted. Not over the top like the Prisoner used to be...refined, big fruit but also understated of that makes sense.

I realize it's temping to just assign a high number to a wine you paid $100 per bottle for, but this is a stunning blend...a huge monster that will take years to mature. I opened two bottles for a Thanksgiving Eve dinner with my college age children and it was a home run to all young and old. Big nose, smooth tannins and definitely a grenache overtone if not a majority of the complexity. Looking forward to trying again in another year on Tgiving eve!

Floral, not earthy like a lot of the 2001's. Fruit is still vibrant and comes through pretty much right after uncorking. Very solid.

More complex and muted than CA-2, not as smooth, but I think will settle down with time. Cellar worthy and will probably be the only $25 wine I hold for a few years. Excellent overall effort.
