Cherry, earth, oak, well balanced, long finish. Seems fruit would last at least another year but why wait.

Agree w note from EY1294. Better after an hour of air. Paired well with grilled salmon. Wish I had more of these.

Past it’s prime. Thought this would last longer but it has completely fallen apart. Burnt wood, leather and dirt. No fruit left. Cork was intact and stored in professional cellar same as prior bottles. Glad this was the last one.

Nice wine. Believe it’s past peak for primary flavors, in a nice spot for tertiary. Personally would drink up.

Fresh and zippy upon opening. Lots of citrus and minerality. Did not improve with air. Good wine but not an ager - drink soon.

Amber color. Apricots, honey, white peach. Mild acidity kicks in at the finish. Just a hint of petrol. Lots of life left but I think it’s peaked. Drink em if you got em.

Agree with Mazik’s description of primary flavors, but my bottle had more heat than I’d like and an unpleasant metallic flavor that increased with air time. Not bad, but disappointing.

Best bottle yet, sadly the last. Black cherry, currant, leather. Fully integrated tannins. No heat. Light acid but enough to balance. Smooth and peaked. Drink now. Paired with blue cheese burger. Outstanding.

Agree with Notes from Soyhead, PGB67 and Stainedglass. Rich but very little acidity to balance. Found it cloying and sweet, more like a big central coast Pinot than a burgundy. Not bad, just not what I expected or wanted.

Nice. Black cherry, cedar, savory earthy flavors. Long finish. A bit too much heat, even after two hours of air. I don’t see this improving, maybe a bit past prime for my taste. The tertiary flavors are taking over.

30-45 minute decant. Brick red. Thin for a cote rotie. Blood, grease and earth. Nose of poopy diaper. Brett? Saved half the bottle for tomorrow, hoping it improves.

This is what aged Barolo should be. DerekDarth’s immediately prior note is spot on. Great pairing with take out osso buco from Stella Alpina. Stored in temp and humidity controlled cellar but cork was dry and crumbled. Nervous moment. Thankfully not corked. Probably had many years of life left if not for the weak cork. Long finish with bright acidity, even better after 2 hours of air. Delicious.

Not much fruit left. Raisinettes, and a hint of strawberry jam. Lots of cut wood/cedar and a bit of cigar box. Slight sourness that isn’t bad but also not completely balanced. Some heat. Decent aged CdP for the price. I don’t see this getting better with age - would drink now.

Very nice, aged cab. Definitely showing its age. Red brick crimson color. Flat upon opening but opens nicely after 30-90 minutes of air. Did not decant. Aroma of tobacco and stewed plums. Tastes like leather and chocolate cherries, currants, a hint of vanilla and finishes long with some zippy acidity. Paired well with a T-bone steak. Would drink sooner rather than later.

Held this one too long. Still good but past it’s prime. Violet nose. Tar, black olives, herbs, leather, burnt toast and bacon up front with blueberry jam and cassis underneath. Still a tinge of acid to balance but flatter and shorter finish than it had a couple years ago, when this was a 90+ wine. Drink em if you got em. Edit: drank the last part of the bottle tonight - two days after opening my last bottle, hand pumped air. It was better. Waaay better. Wtf? Less blueberry jam (good), no heat (very good), burnt toast gone (excellent), currants up front and all the bacon olives herbs etc still there with but acid shining through. Excellent aged Syrah. This wine just wont die. Wish I had more!

Dark fruit, cocoa, meat and blood. Needs red meat and or lots of strong gooey cheese. Paired well with lamb chops and with Kobe cheese burgers. A few hours of air mellowed out the extracted chocolate and fruit flavors and greatly improved this wine.

Good wine, not so good QPR. Light weight, soft, leather and more red fruit than black, which is nice, but just not that interesting for the price.

Love this wine. Same flavor profile as prior notes but it has added weight, smoothed out and maintained its fruit and brightness. Can’t imagine it getting better, but should last at least a few more years. Paired with lamb chops and pan roasted potatoes.

Good wine, but disappointing. Agree with Tomoem’s last note (although I got lots of chocolate, and no cherry) but not the score — I expected more from this bottle. A bit flat and dusty, maybe past peak.

Mature. Very nice wine but the acidity and fruit have mellowed and (slightly burnt) toast, cararmel and creme brûlée are taking over. The wine seems too light to go much longer.

Yes, it’s a big black cherry fruit bomb. Uh, is that a surprise? Anyone who doesn’t already know this shouldn’t be buying Kosta Browne. Get off the hipster bandwagon and enjoy it for what it is.

Agree with recent notes but this wine fell apart after less than an hour of air. Went from a delicious medium to full bodied cherry dominant Pinot to a flat alcohol forward glass of drain cleaner. Rating is based partly on what it was and not just what it is. Drink now and drink fast.
