Crisp, with lots of minerals and bright acidity. Would have probably guessed Jura had I tasted blind. First time with this producer and I’m a fan!

Bright orchard fruit and nice acidity. My first CC from Drouhin and I was pleasantly surprised, this was very nice!

Needs a little air to get going, but this is really good! Lots of bright lemon citrus, high acidity, crushed rocks and oyster shells.

Fresh and zippy, with reasonably dense fruit and medium+ acidity. Not particularly memorable or interesting for me tonight, perhaps a bit too young and shut down at the moment, but very solid wine.

Soft, aromatic and pretty. Fully mature and probably not improving from here. Very solid, but not drinking at quite the same level as many of the mid/late 90s vintages of white label giacosa I've had in recent years.

Tasted side-by-side with 17' Roulot Porusot. Both were delicious, and while the Porusot had an edge with it's voluptuous orchard fruit, this more lineal Monthélie held its own, showing a bit more acidity and great precision. Lovely wine!

Loaded with dense & ripe orchard fruit. Slightly tropical, complex & elegant with exceptional balance. A very complete wine!

Opulent and concentrated, with layered & rich orchard fruit balanced with bright acidity. Still a baby and coiled up a bit at first, a short decant helped for sure. I really enjoyed this wine, but it didn’t exactly wow me at its current stage of development. Lots of potential here though.

A little bit dirty immediately out of the bottle, but cleaned up nicely with minimal air. Very pretty aromatics and tastes like fresh raspberries. Elegant, bright and silky!

Solid wine, but not a bottle I'd seek out again. Pretty expensive for what it is, there was something a bit weird to me about the flavor profile... a bit fruity with medium acidity.

Slightly toasty, rich and bright, with good acidity and layered fruit. I’ve really enjoyed every bottle of Pierre Peters Chetillons I’ve drank, although if my memory holds and weight I’d say that I enjoyed the 14’ I had recently more than this vintage.

This smelled great immediately after opening, but tasted pretty dusty. My plan was to decant for 5 hours, which turned out to be the right decision as it continued to clean up more and more the longer it was open. Lots of licorice and red fruit, and was ultimately quite clean and pretty after plenty of air. Not exactly fireworks, but still tasty.

Lots of fresh strawberries and spice, beautiful aromatics! I rated this 99 points the first time I tried it, but I’ve drank a lot of Rayas since then and am probably being more critical now as a result… but make no mistake, this is very delicious!

Similar notes to last time. Very nice!

Looks like rosé in the glass, this wine was unique and certainly interesting, but not something I need to try again. Not exactly my cup of tea.

Very tasty old Burg! Soft and silky, with lovely clean red fruit that is holding up nicely.

I'm not going to rate this wine b/c it's just not my thing. Tasted next to several grand cru burgundies and some 94' Napa & even older Bordeaux wines, so it wasn't exactly a fair fight... but to me this just tasted like any other well made young Napa cabernet. I didn't get anything notable or special standing out for me at this stage. Perhaps with time (a lot of time!) this becomes something special, but for my $$ there are about a million wines I'd rather drink.

My first time drinking any white wine from Domaine Leroy, this did not disappoint! The aromatics were just insane -- buttered popcorn, flinty and reductive, I'd rate the nose on this wine 100 points++

On the palate, there's loads of complexity and rich fruit, showing nice maturity while remaining super fresh. If I had to be nit-picky (which I think is fair given the price point of these wines!), I'd say that I would have taken a bit more acidity here, but there's no question that this wine is outstanding.

Super fresh, structure very much still in tact, with delicate and pretty fruit. I only had a small taste from this bottle, but it was very fine.

Bright and full of energy. Drank this immediately after 04' Leroy Corton Charlemagne, and while it lacked the crazy popcorn aromatics and richness on the palate of the Leroy, this Charmes offered higher acidity and cut and turned out to be a great wine to drink immediately following a once in a lifetime wine like the 04' Leroy...

Tasted blind at Torien. Held up nicely against 17 & 18 Rousseau CSJ, these wines are a steal at release pricing. Less so at secondary pricing! But I do wish I could get my hands on more of them...

Drank side-by-side with 17' Rousseau Lavaux St. Jacques. The 18' CSJ was more approachable and overall drank better than the 17', but both wines were showing quite young compared to the 14' Mugnier Amoureuses and the 16' Bizot Bourgogne also on the table. Lovely wine, will be better with time.

Drank at Torien side-by-side with 18' Rousseau CSJ. This 17' was a bit more meaty and dark than the 18', and generally showed quite youthful. Better with air, or ideally some more time in the bottle.

This was firing on all cylinders tonight, really drinking great and my WOTN up against some heavy hitters. The aromatics on this wine were so exotic, full of Indian spices like cardamom. There was a slight animal quality to the fruit, which was very complex and pretty. Special wine for sure.

This wine seems to have shut down a bit since last time I opened a bottle 3 years ago. On the palate, the fruit is exceptionally pure and precise, just so elegant and silky. Sadly though, this is giving very little aromatically, which was a disappointment considering what I've experienced with other bottles of Mugnier Amoureuses (including this 14' when it was younger). I would hold these bottles for a few more years at this point and hopefully catch it on the other side of this slightly awkward phase.

Love this wine. Racy acid, loaded with bright lemon and lime citrus and wonderful tension. The fruit is a bit linear and wound up at this stage, but there's so much energy here that it cuts through nicely.

Very fine Chablis. Oyster shells and crushed rocks, rich fruit and bright acidity. There’s a lot of complexity here, with some very subtle oxidative notes. I wouldn’t hold these bottles much longer personally, while this is lovely right now, I’d worry that it could take a turn in the wrong direction in the not too distant future.

Crisp and light, a very nice but simple Bourgogne with solid acidity. Not much weight or depth, but a good summer white!

Ripe dark fruit, silky tannins. The warm vintage comes through here for sure, but still manages to be quite elegant and restrained. Beautifully aromatic, rich and powerful, this is certainly a very tasty Latour, even if it falls a bit short of the more iconic vintages.

Bright and lean! High acidity and salty, with mouth puckering tart citrus fruit. I’ve yet to meet a well made white wine that I considered to be too acidic, but I could understand if some people found this to be a bit much at this stage. I’m into it though! Surely will be even better in a few years though.

A small step down from her Chevalieres, but still quite nice. Similar acidity, but a bit more lean and linear. These whites from Anne and Pierre Boisson always deliver for me.

These reds from Simon Bize offer some of the best value in Burgundy. Punching well above its weight, this was drinking great tonight — elegant & pretty red fruit, showing fairly mature for a 19’ but in a good way, this is very ready to drink.

I’ve really enjoyed PVG’s 20’ Champs Gains on multiple occasions recently, but tonight was my first time trying his 21’. Similarly delicious to the 20’, this 21’ is perhaps a bit more lean and linear at this stage, with exceptional acidity and bright citrus fruit. So much energy, I love these wines!

My score is based on opening this wine, drinking a glass, putting it back in the fridge and drinking the rest of the bottle on day two. Lovely acidity, so punchy and crisp. Opened up quite a bit since day one, this is drinking great right now.

Big, deep and rich wine at this stage. Ordered off the list at the New Sheridan chop house in telluride. Obviously young and needs time, but still tasty to drink now with a big steak.

Obviously super young, this is actually the youngest bottle of Chave I've yet to drink, but out of curiosity I popped the cork on one tonight. Woah! This is so dense and powerful, but also extremely silky and elegant. The elite quality of the winemaking here comes through in the precision of the tannin structure and overall balance. A lovely wine to enjoy with food right now, but a bit much to sip on its own for me at this stage -- and then of course this is going to age gracefully for 50+ years.

Not surprisingly this was wound up and shy on first pour, but a short decant quickly added depth and weight. Exceptional precision and balance, with ripe lemon and orchard fruit and great acidity. I'd expect patience will be rewarded with this wine over the next 5-10 years.
