2015 Kobalt Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Like most Kobalt Cabernets, the 2015 is nicely fruit forward. It’s full bodied and the black fruit is intense but it’s very balanced. There’s definitely lots of spice here along one some earth. This Cabernet is velvety smooth and ready to drink...nice effort.

11/27/20, 3:32 PM - Just cracked my last bottle. A beautiful fruit forward Napa Cabernet. Enough said....

2016 Sinegal Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

A very deep and dense red fruit profile on this ultra smooth and soft Cabernet. There is a hint of baking spice in there too with maybe a little anise. It’s definitely nicely balanced with no hard edges. I do get a slight vegetal quality on the finish that’s nice also. A great effort...

I probably cracked it too early but this wine was nice. Very good dark fruit taste profile with ample anise notes.
There is some salty smokiness too. Great density to boot. I'd wait another two plus years to get the full potential of this wine. Great effort.....

2010 Anakota Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota Vineyard Knights Valley

There is a very pronounced nose of cassis with this medium bodied Cabernet. I like the earthy, mineral, herb based red fruit taste profile it presents. It's a good effort but I think that I'll sit on my other bottle for a while before I enjoy again.

5/2/20, 6:51 PM - I cracked my second bottle today. It was more approachable and softer. The tannins were much more reserved. I’d now rate the wine a little higher...

2004 Leonetti Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley

This Cabernet starts with an intense nose of cassis, black fruit with a little vanilla and anise mixed in. The fruit profile is fully developed on the palet. This wine has great density and is smooth and velvety on the finish. The balance is there too. It really is a fantastic effort IMO. This is only my second tasting of a Leonetti Cabernet. I tried the 2006 last week. I really liked both.
