Still fresh, vibrant bright appearance, slightly translucent rim. Cherry & raspberry notes, not particularly long finish, though soft & smooth. Lovely with sweet chilli salmon pasta

Blackcurrant dark fruits nose, still fresh palate given age, some tannins. Hint of Blueberry, BlackBerry, savoury. Evolved nicely, opening up with a lovely finish. Defying the suggested drinking window, still has a year or two left. Served up with leg of lamb.

Still vibrant! Savoury, vegetal nose, blows off quickly with bright red cherry on taste. Lovely more-ish finish if relatively short lived.

I’m thinking this has passed its best. The zingy freshness from previous bottles has waned, but is still nicely tropical. The clean palate also has drifted. Still, the ‘heaviness’ it presents has an appeal, but cloying in the end. Will finish off my last bottles in short order!

Drinking beautifully now, despite a somewhat distant suggested drinking window. Earthy, forest nose, but really still the vibrant sweet cherry on palate. Wonderfully smooth, long finish. I have one bottle left ☹️ in the cellar...

Slightly brickie garnet, immediate farmyard whiff giving over to rich plummy nose, Slightly medicinal, menthol with sweet rich fruitcake on palate. Still some light tannins, otherwise perfect balance with lovely finish. Very nice, above my expectations, though not sure what I was expecting!

Pale with little fruit on the nose. Though light strawberry palate interesting cherry edge. Actually quite lively and fresh, given age. Accompanied with some Peking Duck with hoisin sauce Pringles 😊

Very little on the nose, but that said red and blackberry fruits lingered and offered a shortish but dry finish. I’d say that’s about as much as I’d have hoped for knowing how aged it had become and it was fine washing down some bbq burnt offerings 😊.....

Considering the age, and past drinking window, this has held up very well 😊. Typical pinot nose, palate red fruits, soft tannins, relatively short finish.

Light, bright almost translucent in the glass. Red fruits, strawberry, ripe cherry coming through. Fresh, few tannins, fine balance and long finish.

Dark fruit nose, slightly harsh, still green? Tannins soft, smooth palate, complexity, easy drinker, short finish though perfect for a Netflix night with snacks, no doubt a great match with food....

15 years old & this wine is wonderful. Light gold in colour with a whiff of petroleum quickly moving to a rich, ripe, tropical with honeyed overtones. On the palate, fresh, poisedminerality, some sweetness with fine balance. Delighted I have one bottle left.

This wine has an interesting richness now with an overwhelming honeyed nose initially much like opening a fresh jar of honey for the first time. No other fruit or floral notes evident now, perhaps age driven. The honey extends to a sweetness on the palate with a long finish making it a little more-ish to a point. Not sure I would want a whole bottle,I think I prefer it if I’d opened sooner, hence a lower rating...

This is a punchy wine. Very little on the nose, but palate plummy, blackberry, with a richness hiding the 16% alcohol. Finely balanced, smooth, with a reasonable finish. Perfect with chilli prawn pasta on a Thursday..

Now 20 years, opened without expectation. Nose muted, some dark fruit. That said, wonderfully soft and well balanced, perhaps a little past its best but nonetheless perfectly fine.

My last bottle of Langhe, they’ve all been good though this one, unlike the one a few weeks earlier was perhaps on the edge. The cherry nose still evident, some medicinal notes, but a little muted. The finish was shortish, but still nicely balanced if not very exciting.

Still fresh given the age and suggestion it might be past its best. Light vibrant red fruit nose; actually dry, tannic with some astringency. Long finish. Pretty good, and would probably be better with a nice hearty meat dish than some Doritos....😊

Expecting something a little tired by previous comments but was pleasantly surprised. Red cherry for sure, though fruit lacking on nose. That said a very nice mid week glass & perfect with a tomato 8 chilli prawn pasta...

Initial thoughts of oxidisation waft away to a rich quite luscious, citrus, ripe and full taste. Kerosene nose hangs on. Later lots of pineapple! Some viscosity, feels a little heavier than expected. Pretty good, perhaps time to finish off the other bottles...

Drinking very well, light colouring despite age, with rich nose, honeyed. Well balanced, full rounded fruit, long lush finish.

Decanted for 90 minutes, nose still a little closed, though dark cherry & spice evident. Perhaps some red fruits, redcurrant getting through a bit later. The wine moved from the distinct Barolo minerality giving way to firm dry tannins and finishes finely balanced. After 3 hours the tannins had all but disappeared and it had further evolved to smooth soft and rounded though sadly only one glass left! It was lovely with roast leg of lamb....next time decant for 2+hrs before drinking.

Light colour, translucent. Fresh nose, red fruits, raspberry dominant. Early tasting, first of a case so will see how it ages, but very approachable now. Not overly complex, bit new world-like..

This one scored well on an Aussie reds night mainly as it was up against the heavier Aussie styles. I found it a very pleasant burgundian styled, if not too sophisticated, soft, red-fruited and smooth wine. Improved and evolved in the glass. 2nd bottle, opened and consumed over a couple of days I enjoyed more. Not sure it was worth £30 (majestic) though - better value out there...

Finely balanced acidity, nose opened from initial bread notes too more refined, elegant floral and citrus though with a retained richness. It followed on from a house M&C showing a fine contrast (as you might expect given the price differential)

Last 2 bottles of case tonight dark, full, leathrery and rich. - better than earlier bottles by some way. Still some tannins, and feels like a 'big' wine. Lovely with a roast ham dinner.

At end of drinking window, not much on nose though still plenty of fruit and fine balanced acidity. Relatively short finish.. Followed a lovely Rhone, so comparison a bit tough. Last two bottles in cellar. Overall this is a nice wine will drink future vintages earlier.

This is a perfect wine not to hurry through, drink a half bottle over a few days. Thick, viscous, sweet, molasses, figs, intense. Wonderful. One glass is really enough to finish off an evening perfectly. As highlighted by many, delicious over vanilla icecream (add honeycomb!)

Just arrived from Wine Society today, purchased for a week night quaff, so perfect for a Monday...I have previously had the '07 which was great.. Deep purple with a full brambley nose at first, which opens and softens. Hints of cloves, Christmassy but not too spicy. Well blanced acidity with soft tannins.
