Quite perfumed. Blackberries, with fine tannin structure. Excellent!

Drank over 2 nights and even better the next day. A great drop!

From the estate vineyard on the Hill of Pugnane in Castiglione Falletto, straddling the border with Monforte. Exquisite bouquet of orange and cherries. Medium bodied with tight tannins and nice line of acidity. My first experience with this producer and very good on all accounts.

Year in, year out, this wine always hits the Rizza spot for me. Juicy, Dry and great VFM.
Red
2016 Castagna Sauvage Beechworth Shiraz Blend, Syrah (view label images)
A blend of Shiraz, Sangiovese and Nebbiolo. Darker fruits, savory and medium bodied. Good length.
Red
Drunk alongside a 2013 Seppelt St Peters, the Bin 0 was a better wine for me. More elegant with less influence from oak.
Red
Amazing what a year makes. Tannins have settled down, though still there. Drinking well now but there is no rush.

Looking at my last note, this is drinking superbly. An example that a high alcohol wine can carry well as long as there is balance.
Red
Fresh and fruit forward. Does not seem like a 10-year-old wine.
Red
My last of a case of half-bottles. Apparently, there were some problems with these bottles but fortunately, mine were all good. Great BP and very approachable.
Red
2021 G.D. Vajra Langhe Rosso Langhe DOC Nebbiolo Blend, Nebbiolo (view label images)
Easy going red. Nothing too complex but has enough interest to keep your attention.
Red
Drinking very well though a touch young.
Red
2020 Massena The Moonlight Run Barossa Valley Red Rhone Blend (view label images)
Very Gluggable - this is a great wine to have with BBQ meats.

I'm not too sure if there was whole bunch in the wine-making process of the taste of green stalks was prominent. Light-bodied.
Red
PNP. Drinking really well.
Red
Everything you want in a young cabernet. Should age well.
Red
2017 Wendouree Shiraz Mataro Clare Valley Red Rhone Blend (view label images)
Surprising light, perhaps reflecting its 13.5% alc. Much better with food.

Well developed for its age. Drink now.

Half-bottle. Nicely balanced. Lime with a long finish
Red
Rich, dark fruit. Somewhat porty but not an issue.
Red
Medium-bodied. Touch of eucalypt on the second day that gives it that Clare style for me.
Red
PNP. Savoury, dry tannins. Nice Hunter style
Red
2014 Blue Poles Allouran Margaret River Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
From Magnum (screwcap). Gee this was good. Blackerry, plums and all in balance. Could easily go another 10 years.

Best Aussie Sangiovese I have experienced.
Red
Great balance and structure. Can't fault it.
Red
Nice fruit and structured. Not candied as some Barossa grenache can be.
White
Good quality chardonnay. Stone fruits and light touch of oak. Good drinking now.
Red
Drank alongside the 2 other shiraz blends from the same vintage. Though medium bodied, I found this 'heavier' than the others. All are drinking well now.
Red
Drank over 2 nights. Blackcurrants, good tannic structure. Slightly softer on 2nd night however still too young.

Red
Tassie regional blend. Fruit forward, oak not dominant. Very drinkable but I would expect a few extra years should provide some extra complexity.
Red
Tasted alongside a Rockford Basket Press from the same vintage over 2 nights. The Sami-Odi was a lot more savoury with less oak influence.
Red
Cork in good condition. Smooth tannins, blackcurrant, hint of cedar. Very happy with this bottle.
Red
Medium bodied with light tannins. Great Grenache flavours. I think this is a more drink now proposition.

Under screwcap. Opened on Sunday for a glass then re-tasted some 5 days later. Still going strong and I think the extra days helped in mellowing it out. Full bodied and balanced but still somewhat oaky for my tastes.

Red
Drank over 2 nights. Double decanted on opening. Opened up significantly on Day 2. Drinking well now but there is no rush here!

Somewhat dull. Suggest come back in a couple of years.

Best parcel grapes from the Ablington Vineyard estate in Pokolbin. Blackberry and Mocha with oak providing a supporting role. Very balanced and drinking well.

2009 Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier Canberra District Shiraz Blend, Syrah (view label images)
Balanced with a long finish. Excellent.
Red
Bit of mushroom and blood orange. Good length and drinking well now.
Red
1 hour decant. In a good spot. What I like about this is that the oak does not dominate.
Red
I have had a few vintages from this producer and this is definitely the best for me. Has all the Neb characteristic that you would expect from its home turf. Very approachable now. Recommended.
Red
A blend of 85% Clarendon and 15% Blewitt Springs Grenache from 1921 vines. Pencil/graphite notes. Cherry flavours with fine tannins. Not confectionary in which many grenache can become. My first wine from this producer and I like it.
Red
Earthy, savoury notes. Excellent drinking now. Fascinated to see how this develops in say another 5 years.
Red
2016 Wendouree Shiraz Malbec Clare Valley Shiraz Blend, Syrah (view label images)
An even blend. Some plum and blackberry. Fine tannins. Drinking well now but will continue to development.
Red
This is an annual purchase and always represented great VFM Pinot. I found this quite light, perhaps reflecting its 13.% alc. Very easy drinking.
