Classic dirty red fruit heavy Cabernet from Rutherford AVA. Lots of dirty red cherry, black cherry, a sprinkle of blackberries. Sourced from the western part of Rutherford, there are a seemingly innumerable number of soil types and microclimates. But this finishes with a classic Rutherford dust that you can almost see Tchelistcheff raising his glass and giving a nod of approval. Made in the classic Napa style, this wine is worth every bit of The price paid, and I get this one on a deal which makes it a double plus! Drink now or hold for 7 to 10 years with proper cellaring.

Domaine End of Year Party (Chicago, IL): This is a turning "wine". If you put it near your nose, your head turns away. If you swallow it, your stomach turns. I hear points are assigned arbitrarily these days by the big critics. I will endeavour to do the same here. I give this 100 points, minus one point for every year Caymus has been in existence. Then I take away 10 points for the ugly label, which made me turn my eyes away. The Wagners are laughing all the way to the bank.

12/24/14, 2:31 PM - I'm totally cool if you don't like the wine and I would definitely not say this is Caymus is best considering I've had their special select which is hard to drink and then try this however taking away for a label defeats the purpose of giving a rating, whatsoever. Ratings are based on taste & distinctions in the wine not the label. That's just silly and takes away from the authenticity of giving a wine a rating at all. Just my opinion.
