Meaty style of syrah, with lots of plum and cherry and hints of cured meat, bacon fat and aromas of that ilk. Not massive, and I think at it's apex right now. So drink up!

Didn't do it for me. And I'm a Franc fanatic. Just a little on the thin side. I don't think over the hill, either, just a thin style that's not going to get any better with age. Definitely drink with food that has some fat going on, it needs a bit of help.

This is a pretty decent Zin. That being said I don't drink Zinfandel, typically, because of this "decent" zin. Lots of red berry fruit, some leather notes, but it's mainly a fruit punch (not a fruit BOMB). Not my style of wine in general. But for a Zin lover this may cover all the bases.

Fruit bomb! But not clumsy or flabby. Done right for sure. I'm glad these are such good value wines, as I may just keep opening them. Terrific for a week night, or any night! Probably will improve...can I wait?

There are a few things to love about this wine. The way the varietals are evenly allotted, 38% ea. Franc and CS, 12% ea. PV and Merlot. It just feels right. Flavors are still bold, and smooth. Probably done developing here, time to drink it soon. Savor it!

It's getting to be where I never met a Petit Verdot I didn't like. So likeable if you like darker, stain-making reds. Very dark purple in the glass, and the fruit is all dense darker berries. Spice is there but not overwhelming. Just a great, not too complicated wine.

Petit Verdot, to me, always smells a bit "grapey" - like the darkest grapes, and like dark flowers. The appearance and flavors back this up. But done right, it can be lovely. Such as this wine right here.

Juicy and crisp pink grapefruit on the front, with grassy and chalky minerality on the finish. Can you ask for much more than that? I want a CASE or three of this going into the summer. Delish!!

About what I expected from a Bordeaux at this price. It can be appreciated for it's price and smattering of old-world qualities. However this wine is no walk in the park, and certainly, definitely is better with food. In my case pizza! It was fine with pizza, but isn't everything?

Couldn't wait to try their FIRST syrah! And now I know to let it sit for a WHILE....needs time to come together. But there's amazing potential here. Drink 2024-2029

Not gonna give this a rating. It had a little VA going on, I think. I have another bottle, we'll see if it's any better.

Been waiting a bit for this. Purchased at the winery (but only one bottle, D'OH!). Starting to open up, into the rich and smooth wine of substance it's going to be. Mostly Franc in the blend, blue fruits, nice floral, tannins calming down. Really lovely wine. Drink or hold for another 3-4 years.

Herbaceous and floral with red fruit. Almost a year since I sampled the last bottle and this is becoming more a "beauty" than a beast. Drink it now, or in the next few years. Drink on a rainy night...

I waited a little over a year, then was able to decant this for a couple of hours! The desired effect was acheived. Amazing spice, cinnamon, cardamom, all those dusty smells, a hint of floral, and dried cherry. Coming into it's own now, but still lots of time to evolve. Excellent.

Last bottle! Still packing a punch. An odd blend, but big dark fruit flavors and aromas with some spice and floral notes. Really just solid, still, for $20! I'm sure Stanley and I will cross paths again.

Wow!!! Big blue fruit notes, with a TON of floras on the initial whiff. Big charry oaky flavors at first. BIG wine. Yes, this will age quite well for the next 5-7 years. But right now, well, sure go for it. Decant if you can, give it a little air. But GO BIG for this one. Bring on the stinky cheeses, the full flavored gamey meats. Indulge!

Amazing spice at the outset, then came the fruit, acid, tannins (smooth ones). Hour 2-3 brought a little funk, barnyard. Certainly in a good spot to drink now. Will it last another decade? I'm not going to find out. I'm putting the rest of these in the hopper for holiday enjoyment.

Solid, all the pieces are there, maybe not a "wine of the night" but a great wine for mid-week. Big red fruit flavors, great vanilla, some spice, I'm a fan! And certainly a few years left in the tank.

This wine put a spell on me. Oh, the red fruit, deep red fruit. Cocoa, blueberry, crushed rose petal. And the tannins are still there, but just what is called for, not too much. Wow.....glad I have a few more.

A youthful wine with a youthful deep pinkish/ruby complexion in the glass. The initial aromas are poetic, dewy rose petal, fresh sap from newly cut aspen, and cherry pie in the oven. With a few good swirls things get more serious, hints of candied plum, lilac, bay leaf and anise. The flavors of this wine are very fresh, floral, fruity and spicey; ripe cherry, cranberry, violets, cola, clove, and nutmeg, which coax you to a gently tannic finish. Sangiovese is an imminently food friendly type of wine, and as fall becomes more apparent serve this wine with heartier meats and long-simmering sauces.

From the moment you see its beautiful ruby color and swirl and smell the beautiful fruit bouquet, this wine will mesmerize and enchant you. Firstly, aromas of candied cherry and dried crushed rose petals, which give way to raspberry, cranberry and cinnamon. But there’s more! Keep swirling, keep smelling, find the slight earthiness, discover what smells like strawberries in brown sugar. Now taste, worth the wait, for more strawberry, raspberry, cranberry and cherry. The finish goes on and on, your mouth watering more and more. Thanksgiving is on the way, this wine should be the centerpiece on your holiday table.

Pale golden straw-like color in the glass, Natalie’s initial aromas are very floral; honeysuckle, white rose and lemon blossom. The fruit aromas are there, just more subtle; pear, Meyer lemon, honeydew and nectarine. On the tongue the flavors are bright, lemon curd, honeyed pear, pomelo and a hint of cashew. This all builds to an intense citrusy and mouth-watering finish. This wine is great for festive gatherings. Enjoy it with an assortment of creamy cheeses and your closest friends to start a great evening.

As is typical with the Dry Farmed Pinot Noir, this one comes on pretty strong. From the vividly dark magenta color as you begin to swirl, to the husky aromas of black cherry, plum, currant and potting soil. As the wine opens up the aromatic revelations keep coming, in the form of roses and violets, hibiscus and hints of licorice. The flavors are big, again juicy dark cherry, cranberry, cinnamon, nutmeg, tea and black pepper. This complex and forceful flavor profile leads into tannins, not harsh, but certainly with a grip that tells you this wine will age well in your cellar. Pair this with well-sauced roasted meats or full flavored cheeses.

The pale purple color of this wine seems to invite you to swirl and take a deep and thorough sniff. You are rewarded with a very complex set of aromas, featuring initially drift wood, sassafras, and dark cherry. With a little more air along come smells of violets, dusty plum, cherry and toasted walnut. Sipping this wine brings in flavors of currant, blackberry, juicy blueberry and black pepper. The wine finishes with tannins that assure you this is a wine for cellaring. To enjoy it now plan on decanting, and serve with hard cheeses and a bloody rare New York strip (your temp preference may vary).

This 50/50 Cabernet/Sangiovese blend opens with a very Cabernet-dominant note of currant and plum on the nose, followed by the Sangiovese’s lovely bouquet of floral smells; dried roses and violets. The aromas jump from the glass and are smooth and even. In the mouth this wine is very full bodied, coating the tongue with velvety dark cherry, plum and cola, silky hints of vanilla, cocoa powder and cedar. The tannins come alive on the finish, not overwhelming but present and pleasantly drying, accompanied by the faintest bit of black pepper. This wine has more years of development ahead of it in your cellar (5 to 10 years). Or enjoy it now with well-herbed roasted meats and veggies.

Great stuff, I've always loved this merlot, along with the Feather Cab my faves from the portfolio. There was a moment when I was getting slight void on the mid-pallet, so perhaps this won't last more than a few years, but it depends what you want from the wine. Solid, delicious.

Aged Bordeaux blends with lots of oak on them? Right up my alley. This one is a stunner. Red fruit, cocoa, lots of florals and still some good grip. It's got at least another 5 years to develop.

If I can wait....

Justin Neufeld is crafting these amazing wines that punch WAY above they're weight class, **especially** for price point. If you open it now (I have a couple more I'll do my best to save 2-3 years) do decant for a good 30 mins. All the elements are there. Red and black fruit, graphite, spice and floral notes, and full mouth feel. The tannins are supportive of more cellar time for sure!

Very interesting effort, from a region I'd not had wine from. No wood barrels at all. Concrete! Lots of stems in the mix and you can tell, it's a bit vegetal, but also sort of meaty, and spicy. I was expecting something hard to drink at such a young age, but it's actually quite approachable, especially given ample air. Not sure about longer-term aging. But at least another 5 years for this.

It's Wednesday night! I worked hard all day, then continued to work into the evening (making dinner, podcast notes for Fridays recording day) so I needed something kick-ass BUT not a Best Bottle situation (since I will not finish it, or may not, or, well, if I do, I'm not giving it my full attention) SO this wine, at 20 bucks does it ALL!!!

Delicious AFTER a 2 hour decant. The tannins are still pretty big, give it some air, you're welcome! I had the 20212 about a year ago, same deal, let it breathe. Comparing the vintages I'd give the nod to the 2012 - just a little more going on, integration, balance. This one is still a lovely wine. Hold or decant.

Wow...just WOW!! I have had a lot of the Long Shadows wines, and they tend to be in my wheelhouse for qualitity, I like them and the style in which they are made. But THIS wine tonight was off the charts. BIG Cab, but not bombastic big, amazing intensity and "energy" without overstepping. Fruit, floral, oak, earth, it was all there. Finish for days, and I'd say another 3-5 years at this level. But why wait! Randy Dunn I salute you!

Still chugging along at 15! Although it seems to have lost a very small amount of fruit. Still lovely BIG wine from high elevation vines. Blue and black fruit, baking spice, menthol towards the end. A wonderful companion at this stage, but I'd drink up now, or very soon.

But it's a good bottle of wine, nonetheless.
