Tasted at the wine house in Bernkastel. Light yellow/gold hue in the glass. Showing distinct effervescence on the initial pour. Nose and palate of tropical fruits including pineapple, nectarine, mango, Bartlett pears, and papaya. Beautiful unctuous mouthfeel with a medium-long finish. A lovely offering from Prum that will only improve more with additional time in the bottle.

Tasted at the wine house in Bernkastel. Very, very pale golden color in the glass. Nose and palate of lemon drops, citrus peel, honey, and melted butter. Light effervescence on the initial taste. Strong alcoholic bite with a medium finish. Very young. Needs time to balance everything out in the bottle. Should improve with age.

Tasted at the wine house in Bernkastel. Golden yellow color in the glass. Had the normal petrol nose along with honeysuckle and white peach. Tastes followed suit with honey, candied lemon drops, and a slight hint of peppermint. Unctuous mouthfeel with bright acidity and a medium long finish. Very young. Will last a good 15-20 years in the bottle.

Tasted at the wine house in Bernkastel. Deep golden hue in the glass. Nose of petrol, cinnamon, golden apples, and a slight hint of caramel on the backend. Tastes of white chocolate, candied honey, and bright citrus. The wine was a little sweeter than the non-capsule version in my opinion which I also rated at 94. A very balanced offering between the fruit and acidity with a super long finish. It is really hitting its stride now. Prum never seems to disappoint.

Had a wonderful opportunity to try this wine while in the Dallas airport lounge awaiting our flight to Europe. Nose of boysenberry preserves, blackberries, black plum, and cigar smoke. Tastes of massive blackberry and boysenberry fruit with a hint of rare beef on the backside. Huge puckering tannins with a finish that seemed to go on & on. Still very young. Needs additional time in the bottle to meld everything into balance. 92% Cab, 6% Malbec, & 2% Petite Verdot.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wine while in the Dallas airport lounge awaiting our flight to Europe. The wine had a pale golden yellow hue with pronounced legs when swirled in the glass. The nose consisted of honeysuckle, lemon zest, buttered toast, oak, and a slight hint of linoleum. Tastes of bright citrus, lemon curds, light honey, with a pronounced oak presence. The finish was very long lasting. Best drank with food.

Tried at the tasting room in Los Olivos. Nose of black tea, strawberries, cherries, and baking spice. Tastes of Bing cherries, Strawberries, and bramble. Fairly high alcoholic bite with medium tannins. A little bit out of balance at the moment but should meld everything together nicely with some time in the bottle.

Tried at the tasting room in Los Olivos. Aged in stainless steel vats - no barrels used on this one. Nose of honeysuckle, mandarin oranges, oleander, and fresh cantaloupe. Tastes of lemon curd, orange zest, and honey. A bright, fresh wine with nice balance between the fruit and acidity. Nice wine for the price.

Tasted at the winery in Paso Robles. Muted nose and palate of red fruits. Puckering tannins that overwhelm the fruit. Hopefully, more time in the bottle will liven this wine up as it is quite closed down and out of balance at the moment.

Bright golden yellow hue in the glass. Nose of Key Limes, Lemon Verbena, and vanilla. Also had a funky petrol nose like a German Riesling that took some time in the glass to blow off. Tastes of tart green apple, orange rind, Mandarin Oranges, and apricots. Big acidic bite on the medium long finish (14% alcohol). Had high hopes for this one but it did not quite live up to my expectations.

Big fruits on the palate with red and black currents and red and black raspberries. Silky mouthfeel but seems a little closed at the moment with mouth puckering tannins. Needs some time in the bottle to balance everything out. 65% Cab, 26% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cab Franc.

Drank at the tasting room in Saint-Julien. Aged for a year in 80% 1-year old barrels and 20% new barrels (all French). Big nose of Black raspberries, black cherries, and oak forest floor. Intense blast of black raspberries, black cherries, and black currents on the palate. A very fruit forward wine but still nicely balanced between the fruit, alcohol, and tannins with a medium-long finish. 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, and 11% Petit Verdot.

Upon opening, nose of loamy earth, blackberry, and bramble. Tastes of blackberries and candied suger. Cloudy reddish purple color in the glass. Bright fruit profiles with chewy tannins and an extra long finish. As it opened up, the nose and taste shifted to more red fruits including raspberry and strawberry preserves. This was especially evident when tasted again the following evening. Overall, a very interesting and tasty wine.

Thick, unctious mouth feel. Nose of blackberry preserves and raisins. Big over the top flavors of golden raisins and honey with blackberry and boysenberry preserves lingering as you hold it in your mouth. Long lucious finish that seems to go on forever.

Paired perfectly with chocolate cake. Would also go perfectly with a nice cheese plate.

Tasted at the winery in Arroyo Grande. 38% Grenache, 33% Cabernet, 17% Tempranillo, and 12% Petite Syrah. Nose of black cherries and black plums. Flavors of sweet black cherry and black raspberry preserves. This one was a little too sweet on the palate for me. It was also not quite balanced as there was a pronounced alcoholic bite with puckering tannins. Maybe some time in the bottle will help balance things out but it was not doing it for me at the present time.

Tasted at the TH Estate Winery in Paso. Very interesting nose on this one. Along with red fruits I caught hints of blood orange and tangerines. Muted flavors of red raspberries and red cherries. This was by far the most unique of the Decroux Pinots of the four I tasted that day.

A mature wine with deep crimson color and definite browning on the edges. Nose of big red fruits and red rose petals. Huge juicy fruit on the palate with strawberry jam, red cherries, and red raspberries leading the way. The wine is nicely balanced now with a velvety mouthfeel and medium long finish with the just the slightest alcoholic bite on the backside. Drinking beautifully now so I would suggest drinking them if you still have bottles to enjoy.

Nose of strawberries, cranberries, and sour cherries with a little barnyard funk as it opens up in the glass. Similar tastes on the palate with a slight vanilla sweetness mixed in. The wine is nicely balanced between the fruit and alcohol with a slight acidic bite on the medium long finish. Perfectly aged and drinking beautifully now. At its peak in my opinion, so drink now if you have some in the cellar.

Big nose of yeasty bread with added lemon zest, melted butter, and a slight hint of rubber. Tastes of orange marmalade, orange pith, sour green apple, and just the tiniest hint of honey on the back palate. Not the balance I was expecting for such a pricey bottle of Champagne. The huge acidity of the wine completely overwhelmed the fruit in my opinion. Maybe some additional time in the bottle will help mellow this one out a bit. At least for now, my wife and I both enjoyed the 2006 Veuve La Grande Dame we had at Christmas far more than this one.

Golden yellow hue with a slight brown tint and lots of tiny bubbles. Nose of yeasty bread, baked apples, orange marmalade, and wet cement. A delightful creamy mouthfeel with tastes of freshly baked sour dough bread, green apples, key limes, orange marmalade and a slight honey sweetness on the back end. Definitely a mature nose and taste on this one. A much more balanced and nuanced champagne than the standard orange label Veuve. A beautiful bottle of bubbles drinking wonderfully right now.

Decanted for an hour. Muted nose of blackberry preserves, pencil shavings, loam, and vanilla. Tastes of black plum, black raspberry, and blackberries. Very light tannins with a slight alcoholic burn and a medium-long finish. Nice balance between the fruit, tannins, and alcohol. Very nice offering from Patricia Green like most of their wines but I'm not sure it is worth the $100 retail price. Drink now or in the near future as I do not think it will improve any more with additional time.

Tasted at the winery in Kenwood. Big nose and tastes of dusty red raspberries, black cherries, and cherry cola. Big alcohol bite on the palate, (even on the nose). Huge drying tannins. This wine needs several more years in the bottle to balance the alcohol, tannins, and fruit. A really good wine but not sure it's worth the $150 retail price at the winery ($75 if you are in their wine club which is much more reasonable).

Tasted at the winery in Cupertino. Nose and tastes of dusty black fruits and candied sugar. The palate had a slight sour bite on the back end. The wine felt very unbalanced and disjointed to me with an alcoholic burn on the throat and much lighter tannins that some of the Ridge Zins we tried that day. Hopefully, the wine will come together with several more years in the bottle but I was not a fan of how it was drinking that particular day.

Drank from a half bottle. Big nose of blackberries, cedar, tobacco, and wet loam. Tastes of blackberries, black cherries, cedar, cola, and vanilla. Nicely balanced between the lush fruit flavors, the alcohol (13.5%), and the slightly drying tannins. The finish lingers in the mouth and throat for a good minute or more. Drinking beautifully now but will last for many years to come. A truly stunning wine from Ridge!

Muddy purplish brown in color. Nose of sherry, wet earth, cedar shavings, and tobacco. Tastes of red cherries, cranberries, and a touch of sherry. Became more expressive after being open in the bottle for an hour or so. The wine shows good balance between the fruit, which is still showing through nicely, and the tannins, which have softened over time. The finish was quite short but overall very happy with the wine as it is not often I get to partake in a 40+ year old wine. I would suggest drinking soon though, as I don't see the wine improving with additional age.
