Very tasty and very easy drinker!! Dark fruit, vanilla and oak .Well rounded/balanced and very smooth with medium tannins and low acidity making for a very easy drinker. QPR will depend where you are buying but here @ €22.50 its a attractive...put it this way, there are wines being sold in the €19-19.75 price range to get them under the €20 price point that could not come near it.

Loads of juicy red fruit on opening, but on the palate it is just juice!! Too young for me but Id be reasonably sure there is something half decent in there given the reviews for earlier vintages. Not appropriate to score or like/dislike at this stage. Will revisit

Dont have much experience with French Reds but my fondness for blends and a bargain took me towards this. Pleasantly rewarded!!
Cherries and chocolate but above all a lovely earthiness from beginning to end. Bumf somewhere says 5-7 yrs is good but this has already reached a very enjoyable place and if it gets better, well happy days, I've found a real gem.
Discounted from €35 to €28 and that makes it.....albeit by Irish price levels.... an exceptional QPR.

Way too young to the point of being just juice!!! Opened, decanted for a couple of hours and drank with no great pleasure before and after we went out to dinner. Don't doubt it will come together but think it will take some time to do so.

Agree with Belgiumwine needs time....a sleeping beast though and reckon it will turn out to be right up my alley as a powerful fruit forward and well integrated wine. Giving it a subjective 88 for now but will be surprised if it does not gain 2-3 points in a year or two!!

I decant all my wines through a Vin-aire as a matter of SOP. They generally do not get too much time to settle but I ended up leaving this for about 3 hrs before tucking in. It was in a place you don't normally get with this wine - smooth to the point of almost elegant. Flavors are well documented in other posts but there was great harmony and balance to it. Wonderful stuff....worth another point!!!

This wine starts with spicy aromas, and follows on with loads of black and red fruit flavours. The tannins are smooth and the finish is long.
This is a very pleasant everyday wine.....even gets thumbs up from Dearest who's preferences are more towards white/bubbles.

This is Find of the Year for me!
On the nose its dark berry fruit and spices that continue on through to the taste and adds a hint of almonds. Flavours are lush and with great depth and you find yourself holding it in your mouth just to savour. This a full throttle wine with loads of power but still hides the alcohol well. Gorgeous stuff.

...Its now open and decanted for 3 hours. Tasted on opening and to be honest little or no different 3 hours later. Fruit present but muted and dominated by oak. Other 2 bottles going away for a long stretch.

Cab. Sav. usually puts me off but I'm a Red Blend fan and this is stunning....no other words for it. What it will be like in a couple of years Heaven only knows!! Such power!. Bought 2 on spec...tasted.....went back for another 3.....finished the bottle and went back for another 6. No half decent wine is cheap here and at €36 it's near the top of what I like to spend on spec. but if I can keep my hands off them and live long enough a few years should turn this into something exceptional.

No idea where this came from, so that made it likely it was one of those hamper wines put together with a lot of other stuff that the kids get at work and bring home at Christmas.
Wifey in the mood for a red, so with me doing Dry January it was as good as any to open. On opening and decanting got a faint whiff of 'corked' so after 45 yrs of marriage im not about to poison her so had a glass.....and yes there was a very faint taste of cork but I reckoned it would blow off after an hour with air.....and it did.
Next night I relented and helped her finish the bottle. Had with chili con carne and it was a delight. Had opened up nicely with hints of red berries, vanilla, liquorice and roasted coffee.
Its a food wine for me rather than a sipper. Its very much an everyday wine so is competing with so many others and therefore will be all about the price point[QPR]in your area. However, well worth testing it against your own everyday rioja and then decide on the basis of comparative prices.

Baby Clio is a good description.....but one of a very few wines that for my palate does not need food and mebbe even better without it. Sumptuous wine to be savored alone by the thimbleful. QPR for me is off the scale. Will also add ....and apologies if I am....but I think I'm repeating myself, if you want to get someone/anyone started on red wine , this for sure is your baby. If you cant drink this(and enjoy), dont bother!!

Southern Italy is currently flavour of the month so was on the lookout for something away from the norms. This is a grape which is used only in Puglia as far as I can find out. Red berries, plums and cherries are the flavours and while expecting some Puglian sweetness was surprised with pepper and sharp spices. Indeed both my Son and I had been speculating what grape it would most resemble and our immediate reaction was Shiraz.

What threw us though was that lockdown having driven us to order takeaway we both ordered prawn dishes and were pleasantly surprised at how well the wine paired with both dishes.

This is very different to my stock tempranillo, Mourvedre, Aglicanico favourites but it is a georgeous wine....nice on its own but comes int its own with food. Cannot wait to try with other fish dishes. Really worth a punt!!

Typical Juan Gil, starts off with spices and cocoa but overloaded with fruit , more than a hint of sweetness and does not skimp on the alcohol. Somehow it all works wonderfully .

Just a lovely wine at the top of its game right now and a perfect accompaniment to fillet steak for Christmas Day dinner. Did not get the attention it deserved in the mayhem that's Christmas Day, but St Stephens Day bottle is cooking right now and will elaborate later on a truly gorgeous wine.

Have got my notes a bit mixed up but hope you'll get the gist anyway.

Would only ever consider this beauty with food. 2 bottles over 2 days proved that. Plenty of dark berries but what I really do get is the vanilla, milk chocolate flavours. Others described the 'taste explosions and sensations' that came through during our steak dinners.

Day 3 saw a small glassful left in the decanter and had lost its mojo completely. Id be guessing oxodised, open too long or most likely left in too warm a place.
Notwithstanding that bit, I am delighted to be able to look forward to my other 2 bottles. If this improves it will be awesome.

This is 2nd bottle drank recently and while an improvement on the first I have this as past its 'sell by' date.Tastes of farmyard, sloes and wild yeast. I note the ratings and 'distinctive' comments but also note other site comments on the blend being best drank within a few years of release.

Have another bottle and happily give it away!!!

Arriving home from a night of bad theatre, PnP the first thing that came to hand. Proved tight/closed and a wee bit harsh.
Left it and was I not rewarded on the following night!!! Dark fruit with some balsamic component, a gentle mouth feel and long finish. Smashing find!!
Buying more for storage because I am certain that it is yet a baby. Expect it to be 90++ . Cracking QPR

Supplied this in error, hung onto it and I'm glad I did.
Typical Jumilla wine with plenty of fruit and surprising amount of power.
Just up my alley. If you know Luzon and/or Juan Gil wines from this region and like them, well then this will not disappoint !!

slated this back in October and only revisiting now. Had to be something wrong with that bottle because this is more like I was expecting. PnP and powerful flavours straight away, if a bit rough and rustic. Left it for an hour and most of the edges are disappearing rapidly......think I'll finish both wine and review tomorrow.
Simply put, this for me is back on track. Delighted to be friends again!!!

Opened last night but only took a sip or two. 24 hrs later it has rounded out remarkably into a surprisingly smooth wine. Loads of taste, flavour up front and a little short on the finish [ that the Malbec maybe?]
As previous note, this is a stonking good QPR and at its particular price point here, there is very little to touch it ........ Coyam or Amancaya - and only when discounted - come to mind. This is really worth a shot for a good midweek tipple. Im about to order more for sure.

If I'd tasted this blind I would have said a Juan Gil wine, so in that sense it is right up my ally. Loads of fruit all the way through and a hint of sweetness that you'd more associate with a Primitivo. Lovely stuff!!
Probably can do with a couple of years to settle down.
Bought it on the back of being attributed 94 pts from both Parker & Penin by retailer.

Lovely, lovely wine. For all Clio fans this distant cousin at almost half the price is a very decent alternative and as good a QPR as there is around. Also if you have friends who are not red fans, get them to taste this.
