6/18/18, 7:54 PM - It sure which has me more jealous: ‘02 Krug or dinner at Manresa!
6/18/18, 7:09 PM - +1. Morlet could be the only mailing list you need to be on with such great wines across the spectrum. It’s also one of the best winery tours in Napa if you get the chance. We had 3 hours with Luc Morlet wandering the winery and tasting wine. He’s a great host
6/18/18, 7:00 PM - That sucks. Maybe send it back to Booker? They’re pretty good about replacing bad bottles
5/6/17, 10:46 PM - Yes! Fun & interesting wine.
5/6/17, 10:44 PM - Elias Fernandez at Shafer agrees. The '06s are stuck and may never evolve further. That being said p, Shafer had a great 2000-2010
5/6/17, 9:22 PM - Make sure you visit Morlet next time you're in Napa. It's an amazingly personal tour/tasting because it's not quite open to the public.
3/5/17, 3:09 PM - Totally agree. It's easy to support Memento Mori because the people & wine are so good.
1/31/17, 5:54 PM - I'm with you. Great wine but steep price. Shafer is around the corner making great wine at a much lower price.
11/27/16, 9:02 PM - Contact Booker and they will probably replace it
11/13/16, 12:04 PM - Check with Booker for a refund or replacement. This is a known issue
8/16/16, 8:00 PM - I agree. The label is fantastic. Good wine too
8/15/16, 5:46 PM - *CayuseThanks for the note. I badly want to open a bottle but I know I should wait
7/7/16, 8:19 PM - We just drank the 2010. Also amazing. Hope we can get together again and share a few
5/14/16, 10:28 PM - Maybe the wrong wine?
4/17/16, 7:35 PM - If you're a fan of Morlet then you must visit the winery next time you're in Napa. Four of us went two weeks ago and spent almost three hours with Luc Morlet himself. I've never had a more intimate and personal tour & tasting.
3/13/16, 8:55 PM - Any thoughts on the drinking window? Do you think it will improve with more time in the cellar?
3/14/16, 7:07 AM - LEVINML-I just picked up a bottle and want instant gratification! But I bought it to hold for a few years.
2/14/16, 6:49 AM - Any thoughts on the drinking window? I've got one stashed & I'm not sure if it's a wine I should drink or a souvenir I should save.
2/14/16, 6:41 AM - There is no better flagship Napa cab than Shafer Hillside Select, considering the price. I just opened a 2012 Odette Reserve, also from Stag's Leap. The Odette is amazing but costs $100 more than Hillside Select.
2/7/16, 8:35 AM - She makes great Rhone style wines!
12/30/15, 9:57 PM - Booker had this problem with their sweet wine recently and accepted returns of the bottles. Still disappointing
12/10/15, 5:33 PM - I'm so conflicted with the Mascot. It's fine but expensive. Plus I'm not sure where it fits in the expanding Harlan portfolio. It's not the 2nd wine because of the Maiden. I'm still buying it but not sure how much longer
11/11/15, 1:30 PM - Any thoughts on the drinking window?
10/12/15, 3:18 PM - I totally agree & Booker is on a great run recently. I'm trying to discipline myself and not touch any of the 2012s except the RLF.
10/12/15, 3:15 PM - I wonder how the 2011 HSS compares to other Napa 2011s? It's hard for any wine to keep up with 2002 HSS especially from a bad vintage like 2011.
10/12/15, 3:03 PM - Thanks for the note. I think you're right about additional time in the bottle. I had the '08 & '09 recently. The '08 is mature with more complexity compared to the '09.
9/21/15, 5:41 PM - Definitely the best second wine coming out of Napa when considering QPR
9/1/15, 2:48 PM - I agree with Petiger. The Mascot backlash is because of the price. Harlan already bottles Maiden as a 2nd wine (also high priced- compare to Blankiet Prince of Hearts). Is this supposed to be a third tier Harlan wine?
9/1/15, 11:29 AM - Same! I tell everyone who will listen to buy Big Table Farm
8/10/15, 7:46 PM - I just had the same experience. Wine never opened up after 3 hour decant but also tasted flat. Drank the 2002 next to the 1997. 1997 started slow but really opened up nicely. This was my only "bad" experience with the 2002. Usually love it so I'm writing it off to bottle variation.
8/10/15, 7:25 PM - Michigan Dog-I just had the '08 Relentless on July 4th. It was great, as expected. Just starting to show secondary flavors. Haven't opened any of the newer vintages yet though. Makes me curious to see how your tasting goes. I'm looking forward to your notes
8/10/15, 7:22 PM - I totally agree. I think I rated it lower than I should have because my expectations were too high based on the 100 WA score. That being said, it is a great wine and drinking well now.
8/10/15, 7:03 PM - Have you had the 2011 Horsepower Grenache? If yes, how does 2012 compare?
7/23/15, 8:42 PM - I just poured a taste straight from cellar and my first thought was strawberry. Wine showed well after sitting open for 4+ hours
6/30/15, 5:45 PM - Great notes. My last bottle in November 2014 never really opened up after an hour in decanter and another 30 minutes in the glass. Phenomenal wine when it's at its best
1/6/15, 5:15 PM - I wish more Cellar Tracker users shared your attitude - "not my style so I'm not going to rate it".
6/20/14, 3:36 PM - Maggie Harrison is the wine maker at Lillian and Antica Terra. That's why you have an Antica Terra cork. I had the same experience with the Lillian Rose. I haven't tried the Roussanne yet but I love both of her Lillian Syrahs.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
