1/1/20, 5:34 AM - I haven’t tried either vintage personally, but it sounds like Monica Larner had come on board with her feet dry in the 97 p review of the 2015, where she expressed some doubt about its longevity. She finishes off with ”This wine is all about the here and now”, which I hope contributed to a nice New Year’s Eve for you!
12/7/19, 2:46 AM - Hi Daniel,Thanks for your comment. I wasn’t comparing with other riojas but merely with what I like in a forceful red wine. I would have liked this to be more forceful. But maybe it was tannins and acidity together that I found lacking. I certainly liked it, but I don’t see how it can earn 90 points.
