Wow! Bought 2 mixed cases of chianti recently and started drinking them. Just from my local retailer with scores over 89. Popped this cork during the week. What a nose. Like a better than average Brunello! I'm going to drink it as such over the next 5-6 years and bought enough for that. Under $22 a bottle. My best bargain for a fine wine in years.

Purchased in Franschhoek 2015 and carried back. This November we’re returning to Rickety Bridge so it’s a fine time to drink it. It’s deep dark red. A nice big cab nose. Susan says silky aroma of chocolate mixed with figs, with Cinnamon. Delicious, and with puckering tannins in the mouth. Fine long finish.

Tasted with the 1989 tonight. Deep color. Nose of chocolate, more chocolate than the 89, but less complex, I don’t get the thyme and forest floor that I got in the 89, but the 90 nose is bigger, more full bodied than the 89, taste of blackberries, and again I’m having trouble differentiating the tastes but lovely Bordeaux flavors. So I rate it the same 94 points as the 89. The 89 was more complex and the 90 some of that complexity but much more power.

We had a bottle 2 weeks ago and I didn’t write a review. It was drinkable but somewhat acetic, so I would have said it was over the hill. I had 2 bottles left and so I was in a drink up mode and grabbed one tonight against my real wishes for a fine bottle. But this one is great, lovely fine Burgundy.

I occasionally pick a store that I frequent and on their website I pick all the wines in a category that I want such as italian whites that look good and are under 20$ and order 1 bottle of each. So susan my assistant wine taster and spouse drank this by herself and loved it so just ordered more. She said was crisp and refreshing like cool mountain water.

Tasting against it's producers cousin Farnetella Chianti Senesi 2014. That wine is qpc at $10.95 and this is much better. darker, richer nose flavors and fine finish. This wine, the Felsina has been my favorite CC for years. I've visited twice. I've done tastings of all their Chianti's, and I love all of them.

A little more on my tasting note Farnetella is owned by th Felsina Beradinga group who produce my favorite Chianti wines. This plot is southeast of Felsina halfway to Montepulciano. I'm tasting it against the Felsina Chianti Classico right now. The Farnetella is lighter in all ways but still classical Chianti and delicious and only $10.
