Drinking well. A bit of heat towards the end but this is quite enjoyable on a chilly night. The 15.5% ABV do warm you up.

Very good call four years ago. This did get better. It's aging nicely and there are now some tertiary notes along with the red fruit. It still is sappy, woody and assertive but it feels more rounded. It is at a great spot now. Not sure if it will get better but it should linger like this for a few years. Drink on the short term.

Not very complex but surprisingly earthy and dry. Strawberry, raspberry and kirsch notes. Light bodied, with mild tannins and medium acidity. Decent bottle.

Medium garnet in color. Beautiful mature nose with blackberry, leather, and dense notes of rusty iron and aged beef. Dry, light on its feet but assertive and bright with fresh acidity and silky tannins. This wraps up with a classy, elegant and long finish. Great effort that overdelivers. Just as good if not better than two years ago. Drink now or hold for the short term.

Deep ruby red in color. Nose of blackberry, cherry and bramble. Not much noticeable oak. Dry, tannins are medium and velvety, acid is medium, no heat. Enough extract to make it interesting but not cloying. Bright medium length finish. Very good effort. Reminded me a bit of Aldo. Pork chops pairing was a winner. Steak was second best.
This can age for a few years but it's delicious now.

Not too much has changed in the past two years. It still tastes very young but still delicious. I'll try to hold off on my next bottle until 2024 to see some evolution.

Sizeable amount of sediment in bottle. Decanted for 90 minutes. Clear now. Medium garnet in color with just a hint of bricking on the rim. Powerful nose. Black currant, pepper, nicoise olives, game, leather, iron, blood and a bit of menthol. Dry, medium-low acid, medium tannins, still showing some grip that got smoother as the night went by. Alcohol in check. The wine got more and more complex as it opened up. It's mostly tertiary now but should hold for a few years more. Long finish. I could taste it the day after. Memorable wine and definitely in much better shape than my last bottle.

Interesting wine. As light as Beaujolais and funky like Northern Rhone Syrah. Good Summer quaff. Went great with burgers.

Got this bottle two years ago on a trip to Peru. Drinking it today for Peru's 200 year independence.

Deep ruby red in color. Blackberry and cherry flavors with some sage and cigar box in the mix. Dry, medium bodied, medium tannins, medium acid, medium alcohol. Can't find any fault on balance. A bit more depth would be nice. It finishes dry and with medium length.

Very surprised and impressed by this bottling. Didn't think Peru was making wine at the Mendoza level. This can easily pass for Mendoza Malbec with a little more tannin. I am sure this can age for another 5 years. Not sure how it would develop but I'm leaning towards a good outcome.

Young but still delicious. It should improve with some bottle age.
Honeycomb, honeysuckle, nectarine and orange peel. Medium sweet, a bit of tannin and medium plus acid. Not too rich but well balanced. Very good Sauternes.

What a pleasant surprise this bottle was. Medium gold in color. Nose of citrus, pear, nectarine and wet stones. Full bodied, great volume and intensity. Solid amount of extract. Balancing acidity. Medium length and dry finish. Reminds me a bit of the Rhone. Complex, mineral and fresh. This is a great value.

Decanted for an hour.
Medium garnet in color. Cherry, tea leaf, leather, forest floor on a very complex nose. Dry and bright on the palate, silky smooth tannins, medium plus acidity, medium to full body, good amount of extract and persistent on the finish. Beautifully mature bottle. Glad I waited. Time to drink.

Eight years later, this is starting to taste like right bank Bordeaux. Yes, maybe a ripe vintage but still, the French characteristics on this bottle are undeniable.
Not much change in color but on the nose, aside from blueberry and cassis, there's leather, cigar box and forest floor now. The tannins have subsided and the texture is silky smooth now. Acid is medium. Oak is in check and the finish is persistent.
Judging by the state of development, I would say this has entered the maturity phase and should be peaking within a couple of years. Stored well, I anticipate at least eight to ten years more of life to this bottle.
Great quality wine. Good stuff.

Notes of blueberry, sage and cedar. The oak is well integrated and acidity is medium. The ripeness of the fruit is not overdone. Two years did well to this wine. It gained complexity, depth and it even feels more concentrated. A pleasure to drink.

This should say Zinfandel on the label, not pinot. Far away from the elegance, earthiness and finesse of the varietal. Drinks like a concentrated Meiomi. Disappointing.

Was surprised by this. Even though the fill was almost down to shoulder level, the wine was in great shape. Nose was of dark fruit, soil, leather, mushroom. Dry, silky smooth on the palate with a decent amount of extract. It feels full bodied and actually a bit younger than its age. The finish is velvety and persistent.
This has definitely aged well, much better than the '75 Barolo we had next to it.

Do not shake this bottle. Stand for a couple of days and decant. I did not and it poured slush. Had to filter it. Other than that, it was pleasant. Slightly advanced but still drinkable. I wouldn't hold any longer.

Medium ruby with a garnet rim. Elegant nose of red fruit, charcoal and bramble. Feels darker on the more rustic palate. Dry, medium plus tannin, light bodied, medium plus acid and medium finish. Like drinking a Langhe Nebbiolo with hints of pinotage.

Beautiful wine. Bright, focused, well balanced. It does feel like a natural wine but there is no mousiness here. Maybe there is some carbonic maceration. Not sure but that's the vibe I'm getting. The purity of fruit reminds me of Lapierre but this drinks like Village Burgundy. Very well done.

Red fruited nose with some crushed rocks and some herbs. Dry on the palate, savory, with good minerality and brighter than 2019. Acid is definitely good this vintage. Feels more balanced than last vintage. Had it against the popular AIX bottling and this was just as good. Very good QPR.

Ruby color of medium intensity. Pomegranate, Blackberry jam, violets and some licorice on the nose. Dry on the palate, medium bodied, medium minus extract, medium acidity. Spicy with some jammy notes of blueberry, and also herbes du provence. Medium tannins, smooth, silky texture. Finish is of decent length. This needs some time to gain some complexity, maybe five years, but it is enjoyable young as well. Very good QPR.

Medium lemon in color. Notes of golden apple, pineapple, a hint of vanilla. Dry but ripe on the palate. Acidity is bright and balancing. Medium bodied. I appreciate the minerality in this wine. There is a touch of slate on the finish. But this is still too ripe for me. Very good QPR on this party pleaser nonetheless.

Medium garnet in color. No bricking. Notes of blackcurrant, cassis, leather, cigar box, and a hint of mint. Dry on the palate, medium extract, fully resolved tannins, supple texture, medium acidity, medium low alcohol. Well balanced wine. The finish is of moderate length.
This bottle was in much better shape than the Coufran we had by its side but the complexity of the Coufran is just not found here. Even though there were more "faults" with the Coufran bottle, for me at least, it was more interesting. So my rating is higher here due to the condition of the bottle and not my personal preference.

Was about to use the duran but the cork elevated as I removed the capsule. It was like sorcery! Immediately, I thought secondary fermentation in-bottle. Gone! But surprise, surprise, not a sign of VA or heat damage. Yes, this is past its prime but it is so drinkable, it's a bit scarry.
Medium garnet in color with very little bricking around the edge. Some dark fruit on the nose but mostly tertiary. Classic notes of mature bordeaux, leather, ashtray, tobacco leaf, mushroom, blood sausage and a bit of rusty nail. On the palate it is dry and lean, but amazingly there is more fruit than on the nose. Still a bit of sweetness at the core, tannins are fully resolved, acid is higher than in more modern Bordeaux, medium bodied wine. Great length on the finish for a bottle that started so poorly. Not the best bottle of Bordeaux I've had but a beautiful experience.

Clear. Pale lemon in color. Citrus, stone fruits and wet stones on the nose. Dry, full bodied with medium plus acidity and medium alcohol. Not as creamy as I recall this wine. It's even a bit chalky. Less oak than I expected as well. Don't get any butter but I do get some yeasty notes. Finish is medium.
Not a lot of complexity but more than average for sure. Thinking about it, this can relax for a couple of years and may surprise you. Very good QPR.

Medium garnet in color with no bricking at all. Nose of dark fruit, leather, mushrooms, forest floor, espresso, and a hint of barnyard. It kept gaining complexity in the glass as the night progressed. Silk on the palate, dry, lean but full bodied, medium plus acidity and with a solid amount of extract. Smooth and long lingering finish. Amazing purity, freshness and depth. Put this against two '82 Bordeaux and Mondavi took the crown. Outstanding effort.

Medium gold in color. Beautifully delineated and powerful nose. Notes of lemon, granny smith apple, honey along with oyster shells and sea breeze. It's intoxicating. Dry on the palate, medium bodied, with great concentration and depth. Rich and oily yet crisp and focused. This could easily pass for Meursault if you don't let the acidity distract you. Great length on the mineral finish to wrap this up. Beautiful bottle. #2 WOTN

Finally ready! Wow that was a long wait. The nose is noticeably more intense than previous year. Notes of lemon, honey, wax, and seashells. On the palate, dry with high acidity, medium extract, medium plus body, supple texture cut by acidity and some phenolic bitterness. Notes of citrus, wet rocks and oyster shells reverberate on the palate. It finishes dry and with mid-length. The wine is mature and ready to be consumed.
Not bad for a basic village wine but this is no QPR.

Interesting Chardonnay. Drinks like entry level Bourgogne Blanc from a ripe vintage. Lite touch, minimal and well integrated oak, medium acidity, supple texture. Lacks some extract for me to earn another couple of points but if we keep getting this style of Australian wines, I'll look forward to trying more.

Yeah. I understand now why people gravitate to this. Very tropical notes on the nose. The amount of oak is fairly high and gives it the impression of sweetness. It's actually more palatable than I expected but it's definitely cloying after a glass or two.

Agreed with the last couple of reviews. This feels leaner and lower in extract than other bottlings. However, I wouldn't call it lighter as there is plenty of alcohol giving it some volume. I also agree that it drinks more like a fancy Cotes du Rhone than a CdP but that may be also because it is extremely young.
The nose is clean, of medium intensity with mostly red fruits, some garrigue and a hint of kirsch. Dry but plenty of fruit on the palate. It is ripe with good acidity and light grip. Tannins are velvety to silky. Finish is a bit hot and of medium length.
I'm sure this will age for a handful of years but not sure about any further aging. There's enough acid but the ripeness and alcohol worry me a bit. Only time will tell if this succeeds or it turns into prunes and raisins.
Cheers!

Popped and audozed for about three hours. Cork was in perfect condition. It looked less than half its age.

Pale to medium garnet with some bricking around the edges. Wonderful fully developed nose, powerful, laser focused, you can smell the acidity. Notes are earthy, with soil, wet forest leaves, mushroom, along with cranberry and cherry.

On the palate, it is lean but full, rounded tannins, assertive acidity. Well but not over-extracted. Solid structure. Sweet at the core with red fruit and dry persistent finish.

Beautiful mature Barolo at the peak of maturity. I would drink now but this should linger for a few years in this stage. Time has truly done wonders to this bottle.
