Lovely. Still significant fruit on the nose. Chocolate, blackberry and spices. Super round and complex on the pallet. Tannins melted down, barely perceivable . It was probably amazing a couple of years ago but was excellent this weekend. You should not wait much longer if you still have a bottle to open.

This is one of the two best champagne bottles I’ve had So far. Beautiful deep gold colour showing age, and a surprising amount of fine bubbles still streaming out of the bottom of the glass like delicate pearl necklaces. On the palate we have a medium to full body white, showing hints of oak but also cooked apples and pear. Nice herbal, pastry and honey flavors complete the picture for a surprisingly round and gourmet wine experience. Would accompany well a meal. Had it with smoked salmon, avocados, smoked and maple glazed slamon cubes as well as mussels. Lovely.

Decanted for 60 min. Nose: lots of red fruit still present after all these years. Palate: still some red fruit left but not nearly as much as on the nose. Not too many dimensions left in this wine. Tannins practically all gone. I usually like blended and subtle tannins in older wines but this one is starting to more than subtle. Som very light leather flavors perceived…but as light and subtle is this wine, it’s very very long…flavors stoking around in your pallet for a good minute if you allow it. Past it’s prime but still an enjoyable bottle.

Very disappointing. I was expecting more from Leo Courville with a varietal that does well in cold climates.

Nose: strawberry jam, cigar box, leather, cardamom, pink peppercorn
Pallet:hackberry, herbes/grass, plum, surprising hints of watermelon. Leather and cocoa. Super length. Blended but surprisingly present tannins. This is great now but probably very good for another year.

Nice, nice dark fruit (like plum), vanilla and vegetal notes on the nose. Nice acidity and more vegetal, pepper and cooked plum on the palate. A little too much alcohol still felt on the palate even though we drank it below 18 C. Will give the next one another year or two.

Loved it! The Tinta de Toro varietal is all that I had read about. More fruit than its cousins the Tempranillo, this bottle was complex with blended in tanins and a medium body feel (probably normal after 13 years).

Belle découverte. Mon premier Fleurie. Un beau fruit au nez. Fruits rouges et épices en bouche. Corp similaire à certains Morgons mais il y a des meilleurs morgons à ce prix.

So much better than the bottles we had a few years ago. 10 year old. Much rounder than last time. Tannins blended in. Still showing good dark fruit both on the nose and palate.

Not a bad wine but didn’t like it as much as I was expecting. Acidity is high with a slightly bitter aftertaste (like grapefruit peel). Nice and round on the pallet for the first second. Nice complexity on the nose.

It has probably past it’s prime but it was still enjoyable. Upon opening, strong fossil fuels nose (diesel and natural gas). Ripe Apricot and plum (closer to confit that ripe actually), and caramel. Good but the lasting nose and pallet of fossil fuels may bother some.

Nice and mature, bender tannins but still sharp enough to go another 2 to 5 years. Leather, nice black fruit and a little vanilla (under the level I dislike).

Nose: plenty if spices (black pepper, vanilla, etc) and red fruit (cherry, Empire Apple, plum, etc). Presence of barley sugar also.
Palate: stronger presence (but lea complexity) of spices. Cherry, nice acidity and clear signs of being young relative to its aging potential. Have 6 bottles (5 now) and no doubt the score will go up with age.

Had tried all of their reds at the vineyard 1.5 years ago and did not like any of them. Tried this new one at a the Quebec International Wine fare/competition and liked it immediately. Had a full bottle yesterday with home made prosciutto pizza and it was a good match. It's big on red fruit (nose and palate) as most Quebec but with an interesting presence of smoke and barley sugar

Although this is not a vintage, had this in my cellar for around 3 years. Had is with a few other people yesterday and everybody was surprised and expected something else. The quantity of bubbles was lower than a newer equivalent cider. It was darker/straw-yellow in colour, very dry in taste with yeast and light mushroom and dry leaves/almost truffles notes.

I personally love champagnes at this stage of their lives. Darker / straw shade of yellow. Bubbles still present a small/fine but not a lot of them left at this stage. Just enough for a nice effervescent feeling on the pallet. Cooked apples and a little yeast on the nose. Apples, honey, light spices and lemon taste. Great bottle.

Nice generous wine. Was the Grande Reserve 2005. A lot of deposit in the bottle. Was surprisingly quite astringent in the beginning but I let it breath for 2.5 h and it opened up beautifully. Flavors blending nicely into each other. Cantaloupe, black fruits and leather. Very little astringency left.

Light orange coloring showing its age. Otherwise this wine tastes like it could take another 2 or 3 years. Aired in decanter for 45 min. Tannins still present but melted together smoothly. Cooked cherry and black fruits on the nose with chocolate and leather. Mouth: cooked prunes, more chocolate with Tobacco and light spices. Lovely wine with equally lovely company.
