Normal Piesporter Goldtropf Nose.

On the tongue, heavy and somewhat oily, cotton candy smothered in a candied apricot, peach and coconut cream sauce. Balance is near perfect.

Long finish... Hit the spot and was the favorite of the night.

Estate wine, No vineyard noted. Nose is flat. Lite acid, welch's white grape juice on the palate. Short legs... Ok for non wine drinkers. Borderline- plonk.

I'll have to echo others in saying this has a great QPR. Nose is semi-tropical mandarin punch. Weight is in line with a traditional auslese. Creamy enough, orange whip with a wedge of key lime. A little tartness and minerality, long legs. Awesome blend.

Light straw in color. Light nose of floral origins. Stone fruits on the palate with a touch of acid bursting through. Clear and easy to drink, medium in weight for a Kab. Long legs that finish sour apple. ..almost green jolly rancher in taste.

PnP. Heavy floral nose, perfect weight, color is light white. Taste is along the lines of unsweetened yellow cling peaches with a touch of tartness of weinberg red peach and slight bit of minerals... Not too sweet, just tarty. Med-long legs. Great Saar example. Awesome QPR

PnP with OI. Semi-floral nose with a touch of tropical punch. Typical Saar stone fruits with a touch of sugared grapefruit which is somehow light, yet very strong and long.. The perfect Kabinett!

I will need to drink another soon and take better notes, Seek this one out, if you can!

For NV Rose, I find this the best overall tasting Sparkling Rose... Splash or raspberry and strawberry... with an acceptable after taste.

Nose is going slightly petrol but still floral. Weight is perfect. The sweetness is walking off along with the tropical first impression. Sour apple is dominate, acid is still going strong. Little taste of white peach in the end. Long finish.

Bright Gold in color, medium to fine bubbles. Sweet nose. Initial taste was sweet with medium legs. Apple tart, slightly yeasty, dab of honey with a splash of hazelnut. Only got better... legs seemed to grow by the end of the bottle. Yes, expensive. But it did not have the industrial taste that most are trying to compare it to for QPR.

Bottle was a magnum and was aged approx. 2 in my cellar. Served with Cheeseburgers and potato salad. lol

First night the ladies thought it was corked. (I was drinking Riesling so I did not try)

Second night, it is definitely not corked... Dark cherry rim.. oaked nose. Slight hint of young raspberries and heavy on the oak and tannins. Finnish is long and very slightly bitter. For the price it's ok.

Would be good with some burgers.

I would decant for half a day... and serve with something from the grill that has a kick.

From a 375, PNP... dark yellow in color. Grape soda on the nose. Heavy and oily, first impressions were ripe pineapple and whipped cream. This will sound silly, but think of DQ soft serve with crushed pineapple on top. A slight hint of marzipan in the finish (think almond joy).. A Great Wine for 2003. I will revisit in 2018. Represents Goldtröpfchen well.

AP 05, Nose was sweet and fresh. Color was light gold and strong for it's age. Yellow cling peaches and banana/mango smoothie with a touch of spiciness is how I can best describe this great tasting auslese. Heavy, yet not oily with very long legs. Will try another one next year, where I have the feeling it will only get better.

Very fine bubbles, little to no nose, taste is pretty complex... I would have to say tart cherries with a hint of yeast. TART... did I mention TART. Legs are long. Glad I have more.

Floral nose, tart stone fruits with a nice long semi acidic finish. I understand why this was the winner of the Kabinett cup Berlin. Glad I got my order in before the results made this a very hard bottle to obtain. Will update notes once I drink more.

Jeroboam that we drank over 5 hours. Bubbles held and was easy to drink, typical industrial champ taste but it gets the extra points for holding so well during the party lol. Surprised me... bottle has been in the cellar for years.

Nose was full of Sweet Grain (heavy burn), taste is very sharp while neat (too much for me @123Proof). After a splash of water notes of caramel at first, then on to vanilla and chocolate finished with a long plum/candy corn flavor. Color was full dark.

Nose was full of nuts. Bubbles were still holding well, medium to long legs with a fern taste of mixed nuts and bread dough. A touch sweet. Fern is the key word for this. I would drink ASAP...

Light on the nose, straw color. Medium to long legs, stone fruits are strong with this one, not as tropical and zesty as most know GoldTroph... Still a great Spatlese. Will revisit another bottle in a couple months as this is a bit young to judge for my taste.

Folks, This is Kabinett. Great strong Riesling nose, Light in weight, Citrus and light green apple on the tongue... long finish.

This is not a VDP's relabeled Spatlese....

No surprise it was the unanimous Kabinett Cup winner. Good luck getting some.

Bottle was a CT SS gift.

Color was dark, but not inky. Nose was full, predominantly Amarena cherrys and raisins, first thought was this will be sweet however that was not the case. Legs were Medium-long with Amarena cherry, Raisin and cigar slime as the standout flavors. Tannins were there but not overpowering, and as mentioned while it was slightly sweet, it's not what any of us expected. That being said, three of us are cigar smokers and had previously had a 30+yr fine scotch prior to dinking this Amarone. It was a hit, I became a mind reader for the first time in my life. Don't tell my wife. Thanks goes to Gilrbo. Perfect.

Drinking well now.

Second bottle now. Candy corn on the nose, very very heavy and silky smooth on the tongue, you can almost chew on it. Naturally a large amount of vanilla along with handful of fruit mix. Long finish.

Still my number one pick.

Being a local to the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer and having tasted many of the local offerings of 2013 Kabinett I have to say that this shows the greatest potential and overall finish.

Nose: Yeast and Weinberg Peach
Taste: Sharp and acidic, touch of tropical juices
Finish: Grapefruit and sour mandarin.. great long finish Most might consider it to be a Spatlese.

Pale straw color, medium size bubbles. Taste is pleasant enough to mass serve. For the price, I rate it a bit higher as this is about as cheap as it gets in Germany. Drinkable, with a slight lemon zest taste that is short.

Rum is where my heart is and when compared to all the others (most more than double the original price) this was the best you could have. Only slightly lighter than it's older brother (Cask 23), Nose full of Burnt Butterscotch/Caramel, with a soft yet heavy palate of caramel, orange, toffee and vanilla. The depth and length of the finish is what sets this apart, You will only find a longer finish in the high end Zacapa's >23yr.

Please do not confuse this with Pyrat XO Reserve.
