good fruit bit still a tannin slap. Let it go a few more years.

3/3/19, 12:51 PM - Decanting longer might have been better. But I am going to wait a couple years to open another.

Way past prime. I shouldn't have waited so long to open this. Fruit has faded quite a bit.

6/3/16, 3:53 PM - Thanks for the comment, I am considering buying some and saw your review. Are you sure you have the right vintage? It's a bit unusual that a 2012 Russian River would be past its prime at less than four years old. Thanks.

A pinot drinking at its peak. Truly wish I had hidden a case.

Purple. Aroma of cherries, wood, leaves, earth. Chocolate cherry, vanilla, smoke flavor. Really big and bold. Fruit coming at you from all angles, but still balanced enough to be enjoyed on its own.

4/17/16, 6:26 PM - Thank you. For drinking on its own or with some light snacks this is good to go today for me. With a meal I would let this get another year on it. Still has enough fruit that it could overwhelm some foods. Looking at your notes you seem to have similar tastes to me, but you might be leaning toward a little more fruit forward. For reference, I put down a case of 2013 Scarlett with the idea to start drinking in late 2017.
