Copper red colour with a fine stream of bubbles and a maturing nose still showing some freshness with wild strawberries, minerals, flowers and a touch of coffee and roasted bread in a delicious way. Lovely creaminess on the palate with strawberries, red apples acidity and with a nice and lengthy finish dominated by more wild strawberries again. This has transforms perfectly into its second phase with maturing notes combined with some primary freshness still. This is lovely now, but should reward further cellaring as it will transform showing coffee and truffles.

Nice and fresh citrus acidity on the palate with lots of green apples fruitiness and lime zest bitterness on the nicely balanced and lengthy finish. Red colour with a brick red hue and with a maturing nose showing chocolate, bay leaves and forest floor in a lovely way. Mature palate with smooth tannins and a touch of dried fruit underneath the primary fruit that still dominates and with a nice and pleasant warm fruity finish. This was perfect with the fillet of venison and also worked very well afterwards as well.

(Disgorged in October 2018, 100% Chardonnay mainly from Le Mesnil sur Oger and Avize)
Lovely youthful expression of stone gravel, white flowers and stone fruits that need time in the glass to really open up. Very nice and dry acidity on the palate dominated by stone gravel and a pleasant and lengthy finish showing a touch of tutti frutti before a kaffir lime bitterness takes over in a very pleasant way. This is a very well polished champagne focused on finesse and elegance with a distinct and nice bitterness intensity on the finish. Good already with youthful freshness and expression, but will mature into a lovely butterscotch beauty in a decade.

Amber colour with a lovely mature nose showing truffles, butterscotch, dark chocolate and hints of sherry in a positive way. With extended glass time this opens up with flowers and marmalade in a very pleasant way. Palate is intense showing red apples and dried fruit with a nice lemon peel bitterness on the lengthy finish. Showing lots of maturity with its lovely touch of truffles on the nose and the still very fresh and pleasant palate for such an old bottle.

Nice brick red colour with a maturing nose showing cherry stone, leather and drying fruit. Palate showing smooth tannins and drying fruit and a touch of leather starting to show bitterness as it opens up in the glass. This was very pleasant with the grilled entrecôte, afterwards it showed more dried fruit on the palate. This is good now and should keep on this level for a few more years.

Still lighter yellow in colour with a stream of very fine bubbles showing in the glass. What a wonderful expression on the nose showing gunpowder, sulphur and minerals at first, but with extended glass time this transform over cream and minerals into flowers in a very pleasant way. Smooth citrus acidity on the palate before the creaminess opens up on the nice and lengthy finish showing lime zest and a nice saline feeling on the lips. This is always a treat to have when passing twenty years and opens up with more maturity. Perfect in the afternoon sun this warm Easter weekend!

Yellow colour with a light red hue and a slow stream of fine bubbles. Smoother nose showing yoghurt, bread, red berries and butterscotch. Revealing notes of chocolate with some added time in the glass in a pleasant way. Rounder on the palate focused on mature red apples and with a fruitfully fresh acidity before the nice and long finish showing some dried citrus bitterness. Youthful nose showing freshly baked bread, yellow apples, lychee and citrus notes in a very pleasant way. Fresh and youthful palate showing a bit odd, but nice exotic fruit sweetness that leaves a bit oiliness on the finish. It shows enough underlying acidity that should allow this to turn into something beautiful if laid in the cellar for half a decade or so. But right now the exotic fruit is dominating.

Smoothing tannins still showing primary fruit, but with some hints of tertiary notes of leather before the warmer finish showing the level of alcohol (13,5%) this holds. Not as good as last bottle, but still a good showing bottle that should benefit from further cellaring that will tone down the warm and sweet fruit and show some more

Excellent palate of fresh strawberries with a refreshing acidity, very elegant fruitiness on the mid before the nice and lengthy finish showing even more fruitiness. A slight whispering when removing the cork revealing that there are still some bubbles left in this very mature bottle from the 1960s. Nose is filled with red apples, burnt sugar and orchid flowers in a very mature style. Palate is very pleasant with red apples acidity, and a finish of a slightly burnt sugar in a very nice way. This takes time to open up in the glass and gives joyful changes all through the evening...

Lovely golden yellow colour with a nice and slow stream of fine bubbles. Maturing nose showing honey, caramel and butterscotch notes, with a layer of straw as well. Such a lovely palate, creamy and smooth acidity with yellow apples on the mid before the nice and lengthy finish with a slight touch of burnt sugar in a very nice way. Feeling a bit of herbal tarragon notes on the finish as well. Lovely saltiness on the lips is just the perfect expression of how wonderful a Krug gets! Not the best cuvée and with a bit weakness on the finish. Despite the lesser base vintage this has evolved in a very lovely way over the last decade.. (Best with 10-20 years of extra cellar time)

Yet a good showing from Brocard for their standard Chablis, the nose is perhaps a bit muted but that should change over the coming year and the palate has a nice citrus and mineral drive to it combined with an almost oily texture on the mid. Nice transformation on the lengthy finish where the citrus intensity comes back. This should benefit from some more cellaring, but will hopefully open up more for the summer already! (Best 2019-2023)

This is one of few bottles I have left of this excellent cuvée that I bought in 2009 from the house and kept in my cellar since then.. Still good pressure with lots of fine bubbles left and showing that lovely golden yellow colour that is so amazing for a 30 years old bottle. Amazing on the nose showing butterscotch, saltiness and flowers in a very lovely and seductive way. Palate is showing some oxidative notes, but still feels very fresh and well balanced with a good acidic mid and a lengthy finish showing grapefruit bitterness in a very lovely way.
