After two flawed bottles, this one is better. Two hour decant. Black cherry, tar, earth and spice come through on the palate. Full bodied with good depth and some residual tannin. Rather monolithic though.

Popped and pouredz. At its best after an hour of air. Modest floral nose. Black cherry, forest floor and tea on the palate. Medium bodied, round and drinkable. A very good bourgogne.

Popped and poured. Another great bottle of this. Early maturity. Great focus and acidity. Lime, pear, tropical fruits minerals come through. There is a vivacity and freshness to this which makes it so easy to drink now.

Slow ox one hour. Early maturity. Packed with black fruit, herbs, beef blood, roast meats with interesting layering. Full bodied but very nice balanced. Long finish. Still has 5-10 years in it.

Slow ox for one hour. Big, concentrated, a little heat but having reasonable acidity and balance. Black currant, black berries, smoke, herbs and spice. This is still very youthful and will continue to evolve.

Brett and over the hill. I had a perfectly stored six pack which has had a few bad bottles now.

Popped and poured. Strawberries, herbs and spice. Elegant, transparent and fresh. The is delightful right now with minimal decanting although I don’t sense it will be a long ager.

Popped and poured. This is drinking really well now. Modern in style. Full bodied, but having decent balance and length. Black fruit, tobacco, herbs and spice. Very smooth. May evolve and get better.

Popped and poured. Interesting herbal nose. On the palate medium bodied, oxidative style. Orchard fruit, herbs, almonds and hazelnuts. A little bit of an acquired taste but I like these oxidative wines so ok by me.

Slow ox 30 minutes. This is tightly wound, full bodied, still quite youthful and a little austere. Black fruit, tobacco weed, woodsmoke and herbs come through. Long finish. This will have a long life ahead but I would let it age a bit longer. A longer decant would help too.

Needs 20-30 minutes to open up. Still early maturity, medium bodied, but with good concentration and balance. Red cherry, raspberry, herbs and spice. A little new world and lack subtlety, but otherwise in a pretty good place.

Slow ox 30 minutes. Massive, a bit jammy wine, with packs of black currant, blackberry fruit, some herbs, woodsmoke and graphite. This is still youthful, a bit over the top having not toned down at all with age. Not sure this is going to evolve into something great as it seemed earlier.

A little reduction at first. After 20 minutes iof air it’s ready. Subtle floral nose. Big, full bodied, deep wine with relatively low acidity but reasonable balance. While still drinking pretty well today, this is aging relatively quickly and not really developing additional nuance.

Decanted for 30 minutes. Attractive nose of black currant, raspberry, earth, graphite and pepper. The wine is still youthful, with some marked tannin still unresolved. Really well delineated and focused with excellent balance and acidity. Long finish. This is an excellent wine made in a classic style which will continue to improve.

Drunk next to the family farm there is a noticeable difference. This is medium to full bodied, Strawberry, raspberry, herbs and minerals come through. Has more structure, length and potential to improve.

Popped and poured. Strawberry, herbs, a little spice. Quite restrained, whole cluster, medium bodied. Quite pleasant, attractive but lacks the depth and persistence to age further.

Slow ox 30 min. Fairly red fruit with raspberry, black currant, mocha, tobacco weed, lead pencil. Very well integrated, silky, deep with a long finish. This is still youthful and very impressive harkening back to an older style of cali cab in my view.

Popped and poured. Was a little sweet when I opened it. Put it in the fridge and forgot about it for three days. It was really lovely. Orchard fruit, cashews, a little floral accents on the nose. The wine itself is light golden, quite full bodied, slightly noticeable oak, but pretty well integrated. Overall quite good. Fully mature so I would drink up in the next couple years.

Two bottles at dinner tonight. The first would be rated lower as it had some bret impacting the wine negatively. The second is lovely although not quite as good as I remember it last year. Black currant, olives, cigar box. Full mature showing great length and complexity. Drink up in next five years.

Decanted for two hours. This is a special wine. Right from the nose this oozes sophistication. Cool nose of black and red fruit, tobacco weed and herbs. On the palate, this has a lovely core of black currant fruit but has now developed interesting secondary notes of tobacco, graphite and autumn leaves. Lovely long complex finish. At full maturity now. This may plateau for a few years and then should have a long graceful decline.

Slow ox for one hour. Big nose of blackberries, violets and mocha comes through. The wine is full bodied, a little jammy and oakey, still youthful but packed pull of flavor and depth. This still has a way to go. Unclear though that it will really develop much complexity along the way.

Popped and poured. Relatively subtle floral nose with a little mineral and autumn leave influence. Full bodied, fully mature showing orchard fruit, almonds and autumn leaves on the palate. This is still pretty good but this bottle was past peak so might be worth drinking these soon.

Three days later in the fridge this is over the hill. Drink up.

Popped and poured. Remarkably youthful, fresh. Cool nose of white flowers, lime and a little marine comes through. The wine is tightly coiled, energetic, showing little oak and decent length. Chablis like in style. May get even better in time.

After three days in the fridge this is still is pretty good shape.

Popped and poured. Lovely nose of red berry fruit and pomegranate. The palate is racy, juicy, pure with lovely, nicely balanced red berry fruit with a little earth, iron and spice. This is very good but it’s not that clear how much complexity it will gain with time.

Popped and poured. Inviting nose of black raspberry, violets and spice. The wine is medium bodied, fairly open knit, a little round and juicy but still nicely balanced. Black cherry and raspberry, herbs and earth on the palate. Drinking really well now. Doesn’t feel like a wine that will be long lived so I would drink up.

Popped and poured. Stunning nose of raspberry, pepper and iron wafts from the glass. The wine is very pure, no trace of oak, reasonably light on its feet, black raspberry and spices. Very persistent, doesn’t show heat despite 15.1 abv. Fairly open knit as with the vintage but good acidity keeps it in balance.

Slow ox for one hour. Red currant, cigar box and herbs on the nose. The palate is medium bodied, still youthful, elegant, with lovely balance and decent length. As other reviewers have noted this is not as powerful as other vintages but what it lacks in power it makes up in elegance.

Popped and poured. Excellent for a village wine. Needs a little coaxing. But then comes across with a nice subtle floral, cranberry nose. The palate is red fruited, very clean, fresh, simple, red cherry, cranberry, and herbs.

Popped and poured. Not my favourite dom. Attractive nose. White flowers, orchard fruit, a little sea breeze. The palate is a little more advanced and fat than I would have expected. Still works but doesn’t have the verve or complexity of the best vintages.
