Flowery nose. Ruby colored but a big wine. Not obviously a Merlot. I taste some syrah notes, big fruit and tannins and chalk.

Nice flowery nose. Despite the light ruby color and carignan/aramon blend, this is a powerhouse of flavor- chalky flowery fruity with a fresh acid finish.

Spicy leathery nose. Initially well balanced with more fruit , spice and tannin than the Scarecrow 2011 becoming more tannic over time. Also a hint of age.

Fruity, musky and a bit vegetal nose. Nice fruit and chalk with initial vegetal note converting to a bit acidic over time- so unstable but still enjoyable.

This is the best vintage I have tasted. Nice musky nose. Full bodied, generally well balanced with nice fruit and chalk but with strong tannins - needs at least a few more years of age!

Nice earthy nose. Nice fruit and dolomite chalk becoming a bit acidic over time. Surprisingly, on day 2, this wine became more well balanced and less acidic.

Modest flowery nose. An interesting blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet, soft and well balanced with nice fruit. Almost like a right bank Bordeaux. No sign of its age so likely good for several more years.
