Dense black/blue fruits on the palate. A little heavier and more tannic than expected and dare I say somewhat flabby. Overall somewhat disappointing.

Really good QP wine. Middle weight, with loads of bright red fruit without being overpowering. Good length and typicity. Just a really good classic bordeaux at a very reasonable price. Wish I had more!

Youthful, exhuberant and fruit forward wine. Well made and enjoyable but not a lot of complexity.

Nicely balaanced, less fruit forward and more Burgudnian in charcter than the Cameron which we drank the same night. Barnyard and red fruits on the nose. A touch of sweetness on the cherry dominated palate with secondary soy-like flavours.

Pure cherry fruit with a little bit of funk on the nose just to make sure you know it's burgundy. A touch astringent at the moment. Not complex or deep but very fine for this level and would compare well to most villages wines.

Agree with previous posts - not giving off a whole lot of fruit right now. Quite astringent at the moment as well. Give it a couple more years.

I've had this in the past and thought it quite elegant for Napa. This time I tasted it alongside an '06 from Margaux (the AC, not the Chateau) and was surprised at how leaden and tannic it came across. Defintie astringency for the first half hour in the glass but it softened up after that.

Supple and elegant. Nicely rounding into form. No overt tannins or astringency and ready to drink without need for any decant.

Served at around 12 degrees celsius. Closed at first but this defintiely opened up bautifully as the wine warmed in the glass. The label advises to serve at 15-16 degrees. They're not kidding!

Fruit bombs away! This is defintiely a cabernet in the "big" style and you would be foregiven for thinking this was shiraz (I thought it was). Big, muscular and packed with black fruit and well integrated tannins. Well made but quite tiring on the palate.

Popped and poured. Initially restrained and tanniny with raisin-like hints. After about 45 minutes in the glass this opened up with lovely raspberry and blueberry notes. Full bodied with lush velvety tannins which rolled over the tongue. There was a litlte astringency throughout but otherwise this is a pretty well balanced effort. I would buy this again but suggest cellaring a couple of years or giving it a nice long decant.

Fruit bomb. Well made, integrated and balanced but not particularly complex. A little too extracted for my liking though and it just wore out my palate after a couple of glasses.

I'm trying something new by exploring some of the Loire reds that are out there. This came recommended by my local store. Some cherry/loganberry aromas but overall not a very expressive nose. Quite bitter on the palate. Some red fruit, but this was overwhlemed by a strong metallic taste. This one's for the cooking pot.

Initial nose of cherries with a whiff of alcohol. Luckily the alcohol receded after about half an hour from opening. Much the same on the palate with some mouth drying astringency at first. This also receded after some time in the glass but never fully went away. Not a lot of complexity at this stage but smooth and quite tasty.

Getting better with a little age. This is drinking quite nicely now. Classic pinot nose of barnyard and dark cherries. Smooth tannins with a good dose of cherries on the palate. Started to taste a little sour on day 2.

Big velvety wine a little reminiscent of an Aussie Shiraz. Blueberries and red fruits on the nose. Relatively complex palate of blueberries, raspberries and some menthol. Vacuum selaed and stored in cellar overnight. On the second night the menthol notes were much stronger and the fruit had retreated. Good QPR, but recommend drinking it all in one go.

Initial nose and palate of candied cassis - like alcoholic Ribena. After about an hour this changed into more classic pinot flavours of dark cherries. Very strange split personality and I can't say that I really enjoyed the sensation of Ribena in a wine.

Valentine's Day seemed like a good time to try a decent white burgundy with crab dinner. Golden yellow in the glass with a nose of lime and tropical fruit, this wine was very lean for a Chardonnay with racey acidity and a palate dominated by lime, pineapple and tropical fruits with meadow flower and mineral notes. Quite tasty.

Tasty full bodied Aussie Shiraz with raspberry, blackberry and plum notes. Very well integrated - you wouldn't know it was 15% alcohol without looking at the label. Would definitely buy again.

Charcoal? Is wine supposed to taste and smell like charcoal? This was the overwhelming impression on both the nose and palate on opening. By the second day this had thankfully blown off revealing a restrained nose a tight core of cherries on the palate. Bad bottle? I won't be finding out since I'm not going to be buying any more.
