Gorgeous medium ruby red color. Just brilliant to look at. On the nose, ripe fruit like prunes, plums with mild earth. On the palette, medium-light body, fruit has dissipated a lot (I got just a touch of bright cherries), secondary flavors dominate like bitter Mediterranean herbs. Long, looong finish. 14.5% alcohol is so well integrated. Doesn’t feel too hot. Tannins are fully resolved. I think it’s a year past it’s prime. Drink up. Didn’t improve much after an hour or two in glass, except I enjoyed the nose a bit more with some light oaky, tobacco leaf coming through. Savory finish.
