wine is pretty bad, and i love morgon in general. nose is cheap and grapey, really offputting. palate is weak and only a little better. bottle isn't flawed. not good.

i dont get it. it's closed and tight and boring on day 1. more inviting on day 4 but really no reason to buy this.

friend found this unicorn and brought it home.

it's nose was immediately unappealing. i sensed american oak, but apparently that is not the case (neutral only). nevertheless i hate american oak so it put me off.

the palate was significantly better. it had freshness for such an old wine and was very lively on the palate. it was not too dense or tannic, but really quite pleasant to sip. good wine.

definitely on the tired side of life but very enjoyable wine nonetheless. had lots of pleasing nuance character in the way of bbq soy coffee balsamic nose and direct simple but charming palate. incredible value secondhand.

this had a lot of the classic meursault minerality going on and nothing in the way, only acompanying beautifully; acid, heat, structure, fruit all in harmony.

really all you can ask for from the region and at this price point.

you know, it's a wine. a red wine. it tastes good. it smells fruit forward maybe like raspberrys, some herbal qualitys. the palate is uh, red wine. it is balanced has decent tannin, fruit forward. tastes good.

as far as st joesphs go it's exactly what it is. red wine. never had one i hated, certainly never had one i needed to buy more of. so yeah.

oh and it's hot on the back end.

and $30 is way too much for this stuff.

this is very good. and great price point around $15.
i wish i had more.

the nose is a bit stinky funky weird initially. barnyard, animal scents, and herbal minty/green things. nose is a little closed tho too.

the palate is kind of tight in a good way esp for a wine at this price and has a nice minty thing going on. the fruit is there but drink this up, can't imagine it aging well.

what an utterly delicious and ready to go napa cab with the right pyrazine bitter pepper notes under layers of fruit. not at all over oaked or soft or lush this is a serious bottle at a great price point and it already has the age to pop and pour. highly recommend this one.

not a wow wine by any means, and not sure what the point of a magnum of it is as it doesn't exhibit much character.

all that said, it was decent enough to drink.

not bad. a bit like a cru beaujolais in character, but higher acid, less dense than a moulin a vent or something. kinda meaty, def peppery, but all said nothing super special. just solid french red wine.

okay value.

was delighted by this. very classic bordeaux on the nose. wish it was a little more rustic and old world on the palate, but, all said, what a pleasing bottle.

i like the slight green pyrazine thing going on. and this was better the second day.

from magnum.

given the price this was a bit silly in retrospect. it was most engaging on the second day, with all sorts of odd yeasty pretty things fluttering about and a general light lifted-ness. all said though this is definitely starting to fade and i'm having trouble finding any upside to aging these.

as before, this is quite good and ready to serve now. it likes air so an hour or so is a happy place. was very good the next day, albeit a little weird with some odd plastic and VA notes on the nose- no idea why, but the palate was fruit frwd and delightfully complex.
