Very fresh for haveing been years in bottle for 11 years. Super intense minerality. Very chalky. Searing acidity. Long

The nose is a 9/10, intoxicating mix of damsel, ripe red fruit, dried rose petals and a touch of sous-bois. In the mouth however, this was disappointing: somewhat thin, only little fruit and slightly drying tannins. Still drinkable, but not ablot of enjoyment. My best hope is, that this was just a bad bottle.

11/27/23, 8:51 AM - Good question: Slow oxed for maybe three hours, drunk over the course of the evening with a bit left for next day. It improved a little with time, but overall pretty consistent.

Raveneau is usually more about Raveneau than about Chablis, but this wine was a perfect example of MdT with sea salt and crushed sea shell aromas and flavors in a body that had richness but was also light and lively. Still plenty of room for development here. Pas mal du tout for less than 63 euros, tax and tip included.

Intense nose of sweet poached raspberries and quetsch, sous-bois and some rasperry liqueur notes. In the mouth medium bodied, concentrated and with fine, but firm tannins that are not yet resolved. Lively flavours, very good length. Overall this is really very good and I think could gain a little more with some more cellar time, but is already delicious now. Give it a bit time to open up though. 90-91 pts.

Easy drinking, fun wine, but not plain. Aromatics were interesting, very fruit driven, but with a touch of minerality and spice. Good length. Versatile with food.
Not sure this is meant to be kept. After some disastrous experience with a case of 2015s, I‘ll earmark these for early drinking.

4/14/21, 4:19 AM - Thank you Rich for the perspective on 2015, maybe I‘ll keep some of the 2019 on the side. I also still have some 2011 that continuous to drink very well. My merchant however was of the opinion that the Lapierre wines are less and less for keeping, but more and more for early drinking, with elevage being shortened and more grapes being purchased because of the great demand. At least most seem to agree that they are safe bets in their youth.

Clear, light garnet red with slight brick rim. However, there's nothing aged about the nose, it attacks with high toned fresh red fruit, a little sous-bois, a touch spiciness, some floral note. In the mouth, this is fluid, light bodied, but nowhere rustic. Instead, there is good concentration and grippy to velvety tannins. Very good, nearly mineral finish. Amazing how this developed over the past years and how the fruit is suddenly coming out again. I'd say it's still not at it's peak. Elegant. Very good indeed.
