Nice red color and looks young with no amber on the rim. Interesting and delightful nose of cassis, olive, and red fruit. Good body and well balanced with nice acidity and tastes of dark fruit, leather, mineral and leather, but noticeable and not fully agreeable oak is distracting. Short dry finish which subtracts from the total experience but overall a nice wine. Drink now

Tasted on 5/01/2011: A bright green/yellow color, a floral nose of rose and violets, very "Viognier-ish". This is a light bodied wine with good crish acidity and some minerality, tastes of orange, grapefruit, and pleasant if not long finish. Great with Chinese or Thai.

Light straw colored wine with delicious aromas of fresh tropical fruits, apples, and very Viognier like floral notes of rose. This is a light-bodied wine with crisp acidity, and tastes of apples, quava and orange, seriously. The finish is crisp and refreshing. Really good food wine as it has great balance of body, alcohol, fruit and acidity. I got at the Dekalb Farmer's Market in Georgia and for 10.99 it is a steal!

Dark red blue color and a nose of red and black fruits, vanilla and oak. The taste are cherry, asphalt, dried herbs, licorice, spice, and black fruits. The wine is medium to full bodied, with good balance and structure with soft tannins. The finish is long with earth, fruit and tannin. Should be hold for another 5 plus years

The petite syrah in this blend really shows in the inky bluish black color. The aromas are a wonderful mix of black berry, lavender, rose, chocolate and pepper. The flavors come at you in layers of blackberry, currant, tar, roast meat, vanilla, pepper, coffee, chocolate. This is a wine to really chew on, with its full bodied complexity with loads of structure, great balance and great integration. The finish goes on and on.

Original straw color has turned to a bright yellow gold, a little cloudy due to the absence of fining. This wine has really aged well and i am glad i saved this one bottle. The nose is tropical fruit, yeast, honey, vanilla and hazelnut. The toasty oak is still there but in the background with vanilla coming forward layered with pear, orange and nutmeg. This is a full bodied voluptuous chardonnay with intensity, complexity and richness. Good mineral notes come out with the long finish. I originally rate at 87 but time in the bottle moves it out of the 80's.

Yellow color. Nose is a fooler as it promises an experience very different than the actual taste. The nose is cream brulee, butterscotch, and nice citrus notes. The flavors are sharp, tangerine, lemon and mineral. The wine is light, with not much in the way of interesting structure or character. Short sharp finish.

Full bodied, balanced, tannins not quite as integrated as i expected, but good acidity and enough overall balance and structure to make the overall experience a wonderful one.

2/05/09: Stashed this one lone bottle to see what would happen and wish i had done so with the entire lot. The color is a deep, very deep gold color. The nose was simply hedonistic with honey, baked bread, hazelnut, stone fruit and just a hint of apple. The tastes are layered and not very nuanced with notes of honey, hazelnut, apricot, apple, melon and just enough citrus bite. The wine is full bodied, rich, creamy and structured. The finish is long and awesome. Pre-Cellar tracker days i rated the previous experiences from 88-90.

1/25/09:Inky blue purple dark colored wine. Huge and powerful aromas of cherry, wild berries, floral scents graphite and raspberry. Flavors of dark and red fruit, chocolate, pepper, cherry liqueur flavors, and oak and mineral notes. Big and full bodied wine, lucious and rounded. This wine rich, and balance with good acidiy but the tannins were a little astringent, so probably could use age or a least decanting. Long and linering finish or fruit, minera, oak and a little tannic bite.

1/17/09: Beautiful dark blue purple color. The nose is big and enticing with waves of red, black and blue fruit, pepper, roast meat, herbs, spice and dirt. The flavors fulfill the promise of the nose with layer after layer of cherry, blueberry, blackberry, cherry liquor, spice, coffe and roast meat. This full bodied wine is perfectly in balance, so although heady in its concentration it is so perfectly structured that the fullness, acidity, beautiful tannins all work perfectly. The finish never ends and it a wonderful replay of the nose, taste and fullness.

Incredible structiure and balance with only the tannins needing some time to sort themselves out. The finish is drying but with nice earthy and black fruit and vanilla. Wait for a few years and this is going to be a great wine to savor for two decades.

1/02/09: The color is a pretty bright yellow-gold color. The nose is crisp acidic apple, pear and stone fruit. The tastes are of apple, pear, pineapple, with some creaminess. The acidic, crisp notes are a result of the malolactic process being stopped half way thru. This medium bodied wine has benefited from sur lie aging with a soft lushness, good balance but not the structure in whole i am used to with Pride. Medium finish with acid and fruit.
