I love the strawberry, tobacco and white pepper that’s all over this vintage. It is well balanced and the fruit has stood up well to aging. It hasn’t been lost to the oak, which can sometimes happen over time. Instead, the tannins are well resolved here and help to actually highlight the delicious red fruit that’s right up front on the palate. The nose is all spice box and pipe smoke. I’m so glad I laid a few bottles down when these shipped a few years ago.

Reminded me of Beaujolais Neuveau, which isn't necessarily positive in my book.

Drink now! Resolved tannins, but still structured. Easy to drink without food. I wouldn't push it any more with aging. Tobacco. Raspberry. Eucalyptus.

Tart. Strawberries and cherries. Lemon peel. Not my favorite.

No oak or tannins to speak of. All fruit - dark berries, strawberry. Creamy. Spice on the short finish. Very approachable and good QPR.

Quite likely the best rose' I've had as a non rose' drinker. Not overly dry. Lots of strawberry and prunes on the nose. Surprisingly, finish has hints of caramel. Excellent QPR.

Chewy tannins and lots of alcohol heat upon PNP. Strawberry, raspberry and oak.

Would have mistaken for a pinot. No oak with bright red fruit, but enjoyable.

Nose of magic marker and cherry cola. Tight tannins and firm structure. Long finish. Actually quite pleasant beyond the jarring nose.

Drank a few years ago and woah has it improved. Big oak that wasn't there in 2011. Needed air. Decanted. Spice. Red fruit. Might have mistaken this for a PS if tasted blind. Wish I had more bottles.

The quality of these bottles have swing wildly from some of our favorite shiraz glasses to almost undrinkable. The last two bottles were just disappointing. Hmmmm

Crisp green apple. Light spritz immediately after popping. That fades within 30 minutes. Creamier at a slightly warmer temp, which we preferred.

Smooth. Medium mouth feel. Sweeter as it opened up. Vanilla and cherry notes. Strawberry with some white pepper on the finish.

Much more watery than previous bottles. Felt like a $5 bottle for once. Hope it was a fluke.

Pleasantly surprised. Fruit forward, but with a heavier mouthfeel than expected and a lovely spicy finish. Great QPR.

Tart green apple, crisp. Then, creamy as it warms. Don't serve overly chilled. Libel with our Mexican dinner, as well as alone later in the evening.

Lots of pepper and oak. Never would have pegged this as merlot. Excellent and would drink again.

Lots of new oak, green olive, cedar. Would have guessed it was a petite sirah.

Tasted more like a zin to me. Never would have guessed a PS. Virtually no oak. Lots of red fruit.

Peppery and fruitier than expected. Good midweek sipper with dinner. Suggest a run through aerator for better nose.

Very good at this young age. PNP had some unpleasant heat, so decanted for a couple of hours. Much improved. Lots of dark berries and fruitier than I expected. No huge tannins or oak to speak of.

Tight sour cherry on pop n pour. After 1 hour decant this wine is amazing. Oaky with lots of raspberries and a green pepper finish.

Super fruity. Smooth. Not typical of the varietal, but lovely. Never would have identified it as PS. Will buy again.

Nose of oak and leather; expected more structured tannins from the nose, but got a soft, fruity palate. Nice. Tannins fully integrated at this point. Drink now.
