Holy New Zealand Batman. If I didn't know any better, I would have pegged this as New Zealand in a blind tasting. Grass and cat pee leapt out of the bottle. This undoubtedly suffered by tasting after the PM L'Apres-Midi alongside.

Opened by Allred at Claudia. Why not a third Chardonnay of the night? You can get thirsty with ten courses. Lovely golden color showing some obvious age in appearance, but certainly nothing in the nose or palate indicating the end of the line. Lemon curd and apple on the nose and palate with a long finish. A real treat.

Opened at Claudia with dessert course. Notes of apricot, lemon curd and creme brulee, with beautiful unctuous mouthfeel and long finish. Sadly, my last bottle, but this will last decades yet.

Opened at Claudi with dinner. Dark fruit with some nice pepper notes, but again, could have used a longer decant than the restaurant gave it. I saved some for later in the evening, but never got around to retrying it. One left and I'm in no hurry to open it.

Opened at Claudia. This had explosive nose of lemon oil, oak and hints of tropical fruit. The palate followed the nose with a long finish. Interestingly, this was the better wine this night than the 2011 Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne opened alongside, but the Latour was the far better pairing with the LASAGNE OF CRAB passion fruit, cucumber, pickled lemon dish that had too much acidity for the Girardin.

Opened at dinner at Claudia. Notes of nuts and apple, but lacked the brioche notes from prior bottles that I so enjoy. This was still lively with nice mousse and fine bead, but lacking just a bit compared to prior bottles.

Opened by Allred at Claudia. Notes of roasted nuts and orchard fruits. A lovely wine that is perhaps starting to enter the oxidative spectrum of its life. An excellent beginning to the evening, and a nice pairing with the BENTO BOX of tuna-foie, scallop cracker, squid ink madeleine, potato-caviar.

Opened by Allred at Claudia. Perhaps the tiniest bit of premox, but there was ample citrus and mineral present as well. Although the 2010 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Corton-Charlemagne opened alongside was the better of the white Burgundies on this night, the Latour was the superior match with the LASAGNE OF CRAB, passion fruit, cucumber, pickled lemon dish that had searing acidity.

The first of two red Burgundies opened by Allred at Claudia. This showed some dark cherry notes with dusty and somewhat tired tannins. May have suffered in comparison with the 2001 Gros Frère et Sœur Clos Vougeot Musigni opened alongside.

One of the two red Burgundies opened by Allred at Claudia, and I much preferred this to the 1998 Domaine Trapet (Jean et Jean-Louis) Chapelle-Chambertin opened alongside. Bright cherry notes with sous bois.

Dark almost golden amber in color. I've had this wine several times in the past, but don't remember what the color was like back then. This is very unctuous now with a floral nose, honey and apricots as well. Palate follows with some sweetness that I don't remember from the past. Mrs. TLV said it was almost dessert like, and I agree. This was a truly great bottle of wine last night.

Thanks to Vino Me as this bottle was a gift from the CWM Christmas grab bag in 2018.

Still a pup, but drinking well already. Inky dark in color, with dark berry notes and tannins present. I think this will certainly age nicely and would be in no hurry to consume.

Broke my own rule and opened this the day of delivery. This is a new bottling to Ridge and wanted to see what we have to work with in case we wanted to order more. We did. Nose of florals and some tropical. I definitely got the Roussanne with pineapple and ginger notes, but the Grenache Blanc adds some spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon with some green apple as well. I will let my remaining bottles lay for a year or so, but it will be tough to keep my hands off of them.

Opened by Allred at Vino Me's with dinner. Second time I've had this. While I can appreciate what they are doing with this bottling, I find myself always caught up in the oxidative notes of the older vintages that are part of the blend.

Wow, what a difference two plus years made. This was opened, but not decanted about an hour before served. Loads of dark fruit and raspberry on the nose, but the nose has always been pretty good on prior bottles. The difference was the palate, which showed red and dark fruits with soft tannins and a lovely mouthfeel. I couldn't stop thinking about this bottle, even the next day. Here's hoping it wasn't a one off (even if positive), and that the rest of the bottles step up like this one did.

I've barely any experience in tasting/rating young white Burgundy, so I'll leave it to the experts. We wanted to try it to see if we should buy more. But for the wife and I, this was just a meh.
