Pop/pour. Very young / primary as is to be expected. Bold dark fruits trending toward a very modern, fruit forward style. Alcohol is relatively high at 14.7% and not entirely masked.

This makes for a nice "cocktail" and would also please at the table of a favorite steakhouse, it is slightly more forward / modern / fruit bomb than I gravitate towards. From memory, my impression of several previous vintages was of greater balance. 91 points for today, 92-94 points potential.

Not super happy about the 30% price increase to $90, which for me starts to move this from "nice buy" to "I'll need to think a bit further".

11/7/14, 12:45 PM - I'll echo these comments about the disappointing price increase. With tax and shipping, the Larkmead Cab 2012 came out to $106 per bottle. I'm sure that we are in for another hike with all of the rest (Firebelle, LMV Salon, and Solari).
