Drying tannins on the finish that overpower the fruit that's left. Still good but maybe in a slightly awkward phase where a lot of the fruit is gone but the structure is still there. Might improve, or perhaps it was better 5 years ago? Unclear to me.

    1/2/17, 1:03 PM - Josh. Thanks for your comment. I have had bad luck with my CDP's of late, as well as my Burgundies, with many disappointing wines as I drink up the early 2000 vintages, remembering Parker's admonition, about drinking almost all wines by ten years from the vintage.
