Magnum, very lovely with wonderful fruits and an adequate length of mouth feel, but (as noted in other reviews), the tannins are gone—makes for a lovely very lush wine, but not much complexity left. I have almost a case to drink up—had been saving it as it was touted to been long-lived, but compared to my 2000 Bordeaux futures, this is not going to graduate!

Quite delicious! Very compatible with Asian marinated flank steak, very well integrated, from nose to tannin (still very present but totally melded into taste profile.). Glad I waited! 1 more bottle which I’ll consume later this year.

Bright nose, not much "finish".

Very soft, drinkable, and don't wait any longer! Best with food that isn't too strong so it doesn't get overpowered. Enjoyable!

very nice, quite mellow and smooth. Not remarkable. May be slightly past its prime, and still very enjoyable.

drinking the 2nd and last bottle from my cellar; hasn't changed much since earlier note, nice suble violet in the nose, lovel garnet color, and perhaps (is this possible??) there is a longer finish, cherry cola flavor. All gone, very pleasurable. Not something memorable and yet very enjoyable.

Faint nose of violets and lavender, definitely enhanced by red meat (flank steak), with cherries mid-palate and then a dramatic drop-off in the taste complexity. Will drink the remaining bottle v soon as this is definitely fading.

very floral, sweet but not cloying. sweetness faded as it had time in the glass. Wish I had a few more; this will drink well for the next year or two.

Beginning to show some rough edges, and still very drinkable. Not a great wine, perfectly fine for daily meal. Paired nicely with Tri-Tip marinated in Italian herb/tomato marinade courtesy of Mill Valley Market, and the final stage of Amgen Tour of California.

Very well integrated, with smooth tannins, initially quite fruit forward, with notes of blueberries and high semi-sweet fruit, then it all mellowed out and was delicious with braised short ribs at Brick & Bottle in Corte Madera; I offered a small taste to the waiter (he was way more unctuous than the wine!), and he graciously waived the already "smart marketing" $5 corkage fee. Food there is consistently very good.

This is a terrific quaffing chard...rich mouth feel, not too oaky. Doesnt hang on the palate, which is OK, and has a nice mineral slightly tart finish. Definitely something to stock up on for the next 18 mos of pleasure!

Still very vibrant; needed a bit of time open up, with strong bramble, leather and coffee tones. Not chewy, but full bodied and full of flavor. Not particularly long finish. Delightful with a good burger.

Drank at Easter Evening Dinner--annual Magee Ave event hosted by Chris and Catherine--fabulous with salmon and grilled asparagus. Perfume nose, but very subtle; solid body without being heavy or brash, very approachable and enjoyable.

This is sublime; paired with a perfect lemon tart. The acidity of the lemons perfectly counterbalanced the sweetness of the wine. Rich apricots, undertones of coconut and creme brulee. Don't know if I can keep my New Years' resolution about not buying any more wine this year..this may make me do it.

this bottle has been cellared well since purchase from Beringer, in 1996. well past its prime: thin, but not flabby, mouthfeel, then some tannins mid-range, with subtle residue of leather and chocolate. will be a good backdrop to holiday meal, but not very exciting. glad this is the last one. we'll see how my mags do.

delicious; like a fine R bank Bordeaux, with a long finish and rich flavors. My last bottle!! I am sure that the continuation of Fritz Hatton's overseeing the winemaking, and blending, will continue the tradition of excellent wines under this label.,

This is a lovely earthy wine...a touch of "rustico", but goes fabulously well with N. Italian dishes; trying it tonight at New Year's Eve dinner with the Hattons, roast lamb, etc.

Still quite closed for first hour, with lots of spicey minerality, then it opened up and smoothed out. Smooth thru the mid-palate, with a moderately light finish. Not a muscle-bound wine, and could be overpowered by heavy red meat dishes.

Delicious with tenderloin steak...richness of the wine is a great foil for the beef. Lovely color, bouquet and a very satisfactory finish. Probably not going to get any better in the bottle, so drink up!

Opened one bottle (at dinner with Monica and Remy for my birthday) and it was corked. This bottle was OK, but the wine is just on the cusp of being undrinkable. I am a big Beringer/Sbragia/Chard fan, and probably have kept this too long. Beautiful pale straw/gold color, Nose is very metallic, but after 10-15 min. in the glass, it has a rich flavor, and still has a lot of heft and smooth finish, not overly long. Recommend that it all goes before year end.

very refreshing on a warm evening, with nice citrus/grapefruit mid-palate. 1/2 of bottle sealed and consumed next evening, when the grapefrult was a bit less pronounced, which was a plus, but it also resulted in a much shorter and less intense finish.

I am not a big fan of Merlot, it usually is too insipid for my tastes, but this was a pleasant surprise. It is very smooth, and although it doesn't have much length to the finish, it is consistent throughout, with some nice fruit; not much of a nose but a very nice bottle to take over to enjoy with friends for a casual week-day dinner.
