Good Spätlese with a nice acidity and nice fruit notes. Light bodied, missing some more structure. No aging signs yet. Good and enjoyable but nothing really special.

Quite interesting, nice berry nose. A lot of red fruits on the palate, missing complexity and depth, but an ok wine. A little sweet and to boring overall but ok to drink. Short but juicy finish. Had better Chinese reds but worse too. Worth a try.

Unbalanced, acidity too high, fruit in the background. Short finish, don’t really like it.

Great fresh citrus and pear notes. Nice mineral notes too. Good balance, acidity a little too high for my palate. Will profit from a few more years in the cellar.

Unfortunately the last bottle out of my cellar...even better than the last two times a few years ago. Very elegant and fine body. Perfect structure, beautiful integrated tannins, nice fruit and acidity, absolutely beautiful - even better than some Unicos I had. Simply great!

Still a little young in my opinion. Great structure but a little unbalanced, I would wait another 3-4 years before opening the next one.

Already lots of tertiary notes, mushrooms, wet forest floor, leather. Ripe plum and dark berries. Nicely integrated tannins. Medium bodied and a good long finish.

Always a difficult Montrose vintage and already over its peak but still enjoyable. Mushrooms, wet earthy notes and cassis on the palate. Not very much depth but drinks nice if you’re into aged Bordeaux wines. Medium to light body short finish. Drink up now!

I opened this one side by side to a 2008 Bionic Frog from Cayuse, it was a close call but The Gander was the winner. I decanted it but drank it right away. This is in an absolutely amazing spot now. Beautiful berry nose with some meaty notes. A fruit explosion on the palate. Cherry, blueberry, cassis, a bit of licorice and bacon. Firm and deep structure, nicely integrated tannins. Very long and juicy finish - perfect. Drink now or within the next six years.

In a great drinking spot right now. This huge Shiraz always needs at least ten years of aging in my opinion. I decanted it for two hours. Huge body and structure, very round and well balanced. Great integrated but firm tannins. Dark berries, chocolate, sour cherry, raw meat and licorice on the palate. Long seductive finish. Amazing right now and can easily age another decade.

Blend of Borgonja, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Forest floor and dark berries in the nose. Cherry, cassis and mushroom on the palate, some truffle notes too. Nice structure, a little short in the finish. I would drink this now if I had some more bottles left, no need to age any further.

Beside the well known varieties CS, Merlot and Syrah the Zure Rebellion is blended with Plavac Mali, the primary red grape variety grown along the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, and Alicante Bouschet, a cross between Petit Bouschet and Grenache.
Great fruity nose with cherries, blueberries and some fresh leaves. Beautiful palate with lots of ripe red and dark berries, some oak and firm tannins. Good structure with a nice acidity and a great balance. Maybe lacking a bit in depth but very enjoyable and good to drink now although I guess a few more years in the cellar will make this even more interesting.

Interesting Rosé like color. Nice flowery nose. Ripe
Fruits on the palate, could use some more acidity and a little less sweetness, but quite interesting for a Pinot Gris.

Just look at this crazy orange golden color. Caramel, orange zest and honey in the nose. Very ripe on the palate, orange, kumquats and toasted white bread. Concentrated, but missing some acidity and depth. Nice long finish but all in all a little one dimensional and at the end of its “fun drinking window “.
Enjoyable right now if you like aged Riesling but it’s definitely time to drink up if you have some bottles left.

Wow - can’t really believe that this is from the Netherlands. Great floral nose with wet green grass. On the palate nice different fruits, kumquats, citrus, pear and a nice medium intense acidity and some good mineral notes too. Medium long finish. It developed quite well in the past 2 years but it’s not produced for the long haul. Drink now or within the next 2-3 years.

One of the worst wine I had in the last 12 months. Artificial and boring. Tasted a bit like sugared cherry juice. Just took two sips and emptied the rest of the bottle into the sink.

This one is in a beautiful drinking phase right now. Bright golden colored with a real exotic nose. Pear, lychee, mango and some creamy caramel on the palate. Very complex and good structured, maybe missing a touch more acidity. Nice long finish. All in all a beautiful Riesling with depth and all a good dry Riesling needs. Drink now or within the next 3-4 years.

Just bought this bottle today at a small Italian merchant. Had it this evening with Lasagne al forno.
Bottle was in a good condition. Great ripe red fruits, very nice mouthfeeling. Soft tannins and a long finish. No need to aerating it - this is in a beautiful drinking spot right now. Drink now until 2023.

Brownish-red color with soft edges. Interesting nose, overripe berries and spices. Fine light red fruit and a nice acidity on the palate, some sweet caramel and cinnamon too. Needs a few minutes to open up and after that the drinking window is very short. After 30 minutes it began to loose intensity and became more mushy.
Excellent bottle this time - had a different bottle last time (88/100). Definitely at the far end of its drinking window but interesting to try and see how fast this changes its taste.

The first Zierfandler I ever tried. This won’t become one of my favorite varieties but it was quite interesting and well made. Toast, smoked cheese and mango in the nose. Mango, ripe peach, black pepper, burned wood and smoked bacon on the palate. Nice fresh acidity in the back. Medium to full body, quite intense and complex. The wood flavor is a little too strong for me, but it’s interesting and it reminded me of some wood aged whites from the Southern Rhône. Definitely worth a try. Can easily age another 5-8 years.
