A blend of old world style and new. It seemed a bit over-extracted. Did not have the depth and complexity that I prefer. Very jammy, almost syrupy.

Aerated and decanted for a couple of hours. Wonderful bouquet. Tannic at first, but opened wonderfully. Elegant and integrated. A great blend of old world and new. Soft, round mouthfeel. Nice finish. Great balance. Red fruit, vanilla and roses. I have been sitting on 2 bottles for 6 years, and I wish that I had purchased more. Really loved this wine.

Amazing wine. Elegant, integrated and balanced. A very well-made wine. Beautiful bouquet. Red fruit, floral and some tannin. Thoroughly enjoyable with many years of life ahead, if you can wait that long to enjoy.

Fruit bomb! IMO, excessively jammy. A good wine, but overly extracted, and in your face. Wish this was more complex, subtle and elegant. Not much mineral, smoke, olive or meat. This is like the Caymus of Syrah.

Not to rock the boat, but I was disappointed with this wine. Decanted for 2 hours and drank over the next 3. Not much nose to speak of. Round mouth feel. Soft, elegant and balanced. Modest tannins, but not much finish. A well-made wine for sure, but I found it to be pretty simple. For me, it lacked depth and complexity. Maybe, I was expecting too much...but, I have had other Paso Robles syrahs that I have enjoyed more, and at much lower price points. Perhaps, it is too young and will improve and show more in a few years? Time will tell.

Elegant wine. At or slightly past its optimal drinking window. Nice fruit. Balanced, with very subtle tannin. Red fruit and tobacco. Only the very slightest hint of the 2011 vintage "vegetal" taste. Not great, but a nice wine.

Was the first bottle that I had tried. Shipped directly from Bedrock. I hope that it was just bad luck.

Elegant, smooth and soft mouth-feel. There is some complexity to this wine, but not a lot. Tannins are present but subdued. I did not get much nose. Dark fruit. I enjoyed this wine, and would give it a 92.5, if possible. This is definitely a Washington state wine. Decanted and aerated using iSommelier smart decanter. Probably needs more time in the cellar.

I enjoyed this wine. I aerated and decanted it for 90 minutes. Drank over the next two hours. It is elegant and not a jammy fruit bomb. Nice fruit. Balanced. However, this wine is still tannic. I believe this needs more time. Another 18-24 months in the cellar will certainly help.

This is a decent Syrah, but not a great Syrah. I am giving it an 89 this go around to balance out my previous 91. I think that 90 is about right. Fair amount of smoke, meat, tobacco and mineral, but lacking in floral and fruit. Modest nose. Not great complexity or balance. It is a reasonable QPR, but for a few more dollars ($40 price range), there are much better and more enjoyable Syrah's out there. Not likely to purchase again.

Initially it tasted of tobacco, wet cedar, blue spruce, oak and bell pepper. Opened to dark floral and hint of cinnamon. Spicy, strong finish. Opened nicely over 2 hours. I am giving this a 91 to offset my previous score of 92.

Beautiful wine. Loved it. Improved since last tasting note. I am giving this a 94 to offset my prior score of 92. I would rate this as a very solid 93-94.

Tried a second bottle, and it too was not good. Decanted for an hour. Decent nose, but there is no fruit present. It was bitter, spicy, almost hemlock. Black and green on the palate. I tried two sips, and then asked my wife to try it. She could not take more than 1 sip. Poured a second bottle down the drain. Regretting this purchase.

Green, green, and more green. I have to believe this was an off bottle, so I will hold off giving a score. We poured it down the drain, as it was not drinkable.

2015 Bedrock Wine Co. The Bedrock Heritage Sonoma Valley Zinfandel Blend, Zinfandel (view label images)
Decanted for two hours before taking the first sip. The nose did not develop. It was very restrained. Drank over the next 3 hours and it got better and better. The initial sips were very tannic and almost gritty. As it opened, the berries, fruit and flowers began to come through. Then the soil and meaty undertones after. Integration is not there...yet. IMO, this wine is much too young to drink now, but I believe that the potential is there to become amazing. My sense is that the drinking window will open 2019 and beyond. Did not want to give a rating, as that would be unfair given how early it is.

Upon opening the floral and powerful bouquet I had come to expect from earlier vintages was not present. The cork showed signs of slight seepage, but I do not think that it was flawed. My initial sip after aerating into a decanter was tight, slightly bitter and tannic...biting to my mid-palate. After an hour in the decanter, it began to open up. After another hour or so, I could tell that the fruit was there, but it was underwhelming. This is a good wine, but not great. I think that it needs another few years to improve. I do not think that this vintage is on par with the '07 and '08 Vintages I had tried before. At the mid $50 price point, there are many other wines that I prefer.

Wonderful zin! Definite spice...allspice, cinnamon, white pepper. Full bodied and rich. Dark purple fruit. Floral nose. Big, lasting finish, mid-palate tannins. Vanilla and currants. Notes of crushed, earthy brown leaves. Hint of tobacco. Really nice. Warm, complex and integrated. Great QPR! Well deserving of RP 95.

I found this wine to have a somewhat syruppy, sweet cough medicine taste. Thin. Lacks structure, body and complexity. Floral and fruit is there, but I did not get anything more...other than the medicinal taste described above. This wine did not come together for me. Little to no finish. Non-integrated. I wanted to like this bottle, as it was recommended by a friend, but I was disappointed. Wish I had not purchased 3 bottles. Oh well...at least it was only $16, which is about right for this bottle.

Wonderful nose, full bodied, big wine, floral, jammy, complex and integrated. Better than it was a year ago. Still a little tannic. Great now, but might improve over another year. Decanted for 90 mins before first glass. Got better as the evening wore on over 4 hours.

Very young. Needs more time (a few years). Heavy tannins. Slightly bitter. A bit of a bite on the rear palate. Good structure, but not yet integrated. Right now, more wood and mineral. The fruit is there, but it is still tight. The '13 vintage is superior. A few years of strong RP ratings have led to a price increase on this wine. It is good, but not the same QPR as the '13.

Full bodied, extracted, dark fruit, rich, not yet fully integrated. Improved and got smoother after 2 hours in the decanter. Drinks much more like a Cab. Good QPR. Enjoyed it now, but patience will be rewarded that much more. Will add several more bottles to the cellar, but plan to hold for another year.

Decanted for 90 minutes. Drank with a spicy pork tenderloin. It was an excellent pairing. Bold wine, excellent nose, very good. One of the better Argentinian wines I've had. Will definitely purchase more.
