Very dark purple. Cork in beautiful condition. Blackberry and cassis on the nose. Good balance of fruit and acid. Velvety mouthfeel. Black fruit on the attack. Somewhat tight yet. Black cherry on the midpalate. Somewhat tart on the ten second finish. Drank after opening but prior to a two hour decant before a dinner of braised short rib and feta mashers. Nice wine.

3/7/21, 11:31 AM - Follow up - at the end of the evening, there was still an inch of wine in the bottom of the decanter, and we sipped it as we were doing dishes. It had opened up completely, nothing tight about it at all by that point. Very nice way to end a nice evening.

This just keeps getting better with age. Still a bit tightly wound, so more cellaring is needed until you enjoy the all that ripe, juicy, fresh, sweet, dark, red fruits and spice. The wine is full, deep and intense. It's tannic, but the tannins are ripe, the fruits are sweet, and there is length and purity. The finish shows some dusty texture on the tannins. Give it until 2025 and it should be rockin'!

It started with a nose of raspberry and blackberry. Muted fruit, not much complexity. A little tight on the attack, nice mid-palate with very little finish. Kind of just dropped off a cliff at the end.

Decanted and consumed over about two hours.

We had it with carne asada and a grilled pork chop. It complemented the food nicely. Not spectacular but not bad for a relatively young Bordeaux. Looking forward to a few years in the bottle.

4/22/18, 11:41 AM - I have to say that I revisited the wine after I put half the bottle back for two days (I did vacuum it and put it back in the cellar). It was very different. The oak had softened and it was much better integrated overall. I would have given it a 91 or 93.
