PnP. Color of concord grape juice. Aromas of blackberry and grape. Initially sweet fruit on the palate. Within a few minutes and with some Pork Pozole this morphs into something with a bit more balance and structure. Still felt sweet with not enough structure behind it for our taste.

On the palate red fruit, light+ to medium- body, medium acid, medium- tannin leaving a slightly mouth-watering finish. At times a bit disjointed this worked well with and after dinner. PnP. Color is garnet doing through ruby red to a tiny ring of orange at the rim. Herbal notes and reluctant fruit aromas. Quite grippy, so double-decanted. Showing aromas of red almost candied cherry, violets and menthol. Some hot, volatile aromas. Much better after the decants although still with some grip. Flavors of candied and red cherry, some herbal notes, medium+ to high- acid, high- tannin leaving a definite mouth-drying finish. Drinking with sausage, broccoli, mushroom, truffle and parmesan risotto with a dash of lemon at the end for brightness. This is very good after the air. Some bricking showing when pouring from the decanter. Continuing to improve after dinner.

PnP. Quite a bit of volatile blowoff. Color is garnet with some fade at the edge. Initially, quite hot and a bit linear on the palate with some red fruit. Stayed somewhat hot through dinner and after with a ferric taste and some other off flavors coming and going. Notes of black cherry. Not very good for something supposedly in the middle of its drinking window.

This was lingering in storage. PnP. Two small droplets of seepage beside the cork. Color is bricked lighter ruby red with a significant stripe of orange at the edge. Reticent cherry and cranberry aromas with some funk and herbal notes. Blowing off enough odd aromas at first that this comes across as on the slope of decline. The initial taste has red fruit, funk, some raisin and oxidized notes. After another 5 minutes or so the oxidized note is reduced and there is a note of astringency on the finish. Although the wine composed itself into a better state, it still came across as beyond its drinking window and we did not finish the bottle.

PnP and let sit for about 5-10 minutes. Color is garnet red fading to a strip of orange at the edge. Some bricking is noticeable. Aromas of violets and cherries., some eucalyptus, some savory herbal notes, a bit of funk and wet earth. Not much hot or volatile blowoff. Another 10 minutes before sitting down to dinner of pasta with sauce and a simple salad. A bit linear before the meal this gains breadth and balance with the pasta. Bright acidity at least medium+, tannin is medium+ and with the food the wine leaves a slightly mouthwatering finish. Continuing to soften after the meal. The finish is now more mouth-drying. Quite good.

PnP. About half glass or so each. Let sit for about 10 minutes or so before sampling. Color is deeper reddish-purple fading to a purple-red at the edge. Reticent aromas of purple berry such as boysenberry, along with some savory herbal notes. Initial toast gives a very nice impression on the palate with few notes of green bell pepper. Nice berry, medium acid, medium tannin, light+ to medium- body yield a nicely balanced wine with a neutral, neither mouth-drying, nor mouth-watering finish. Drinking with dinner of marinated, grilled duck breast, mushroom lentils with croutons, roasted collards. Delicious. Wish we had more...

Initial aromas include candied cherry, cherry, cranberry, some savory herbs, violets, maybe some wet earth. On the palate disjointed impressions of cherry, cranberry, bright acid, stiff tannin. After about 15 minutes the impressions are coalescing into a somewhat smoother wine. After another 30+ minutes the wine is filling in some and integrating. Better. Still a bit light in the middle. On the palate bright, red fruit, bright acid, a gentle grip of tannin, ending in a neutral to slightly mouth-watering finish. The body is initially on the light side, probably needing a little time to fill in. Color is deep red fading through ruby red to a wet pink-orange at the edge.
