Slightly higher dosage helps. Slightly creamy. But mire supple, approachable.

Reduced, steely. Reduction actually somewhat overwhelmed the wine in my view but nice fruit underneath. My 4th favourite on the night.
White - Sparkling
Served blind from magnum. Sour nose. Broad, rich, sweet attack. Angular and not harmonious. Very weird and actually quite unpleasant. A real bummer as I’m a huge vilmart fan and have this in both bottles and mags. Need to try from my own to see if this was a representative showing.
White - Sparkling
Served double blind. Curdled cream and milk chocolate on the nose. Pale yellow colour. Slight reduction. Black treacle with air. OK but no better. A relief to have a wine even poorer than the krug I brought!

Served blind. Very pale. Reductive. Fresh, clean and bright. Crazily young but very good showing. My 2nd favourite after the cristal.
White - Sparkling
Served blind. My bottle. Bit stinky. Burnt toffee. Bit flat with just nothing there in the mid palate and finish. Very disappointing. Consistent with other attendees’ experiences.

Served blind. Pale gold colour. Broad, rich, oyster shell. Sexy, tangy. Really very good. Slightly oxidative. Complete and a point. Clear wotn for me by some distance.

Much paler, salmon pink colour than the dp. Very sweet, bubblegum nose and attack on initial pouring. Complete and supple on the palate and full through the finish. Last sip overly sweet with nites of black treacle and the dosage sticking out a bit but overall in a much better place than the dp was. My 3rd favourite on the night.

Served blind from mag. Darker colour than the 04 ruinart rose it was paired with. Slightly stinky, reduced nose. Biting acidic mousse. Compact. Very slowly opening. Some confusion with the somm about which was which in this flight but I’m 100% convinced this was the dp! Not a great showing for such an august wine in mag format.

Served double blind. Very pale, almost clear colour indicating its incredible youthfulness. Lemon twist and classic cold rolled steel reduction flavours. Very fresh with white fruits. Clearly a BdB. I guessed comtes!

Red
Slightly darker colour than the clavelier combe d’orveaux served alongside. Sweet fruit, red and purple and very in your face. Supple through the finish. Cool fruit profile. Voluptuous, rich and forward.
Red
Cola, black fruit, brooding still. Silky mouthfeel with a bit of wet dog. Slightly bitter and dry finish. 2nd pour, redder fruit and more energised with sweeter fruit right through the finish.
White
Very pale colour. Surprisingly soft/lacking in acidity. Plenty of buffering extract. Pale, steely fruit profile with a hint of coconut. Normally, would think this would benefit from more time but not sure with such low acidity.
Rosé - Sparkling
64%/36% blend of PN/chardonnay with 10 g/l dosage. Salmon pink/provencal rose colour. Lovely, elegant and precise from first pour. So enjoyable. Deeply rich nose and palate with air. Only problem with this wine is that hardly anybody will want to give it the extra hour really to develop given how flat out delicious it is from the start.

If at first you don’t succeed… Took a flyer on a 6 pack each of the referts and champs canet. Every bottle so far has been shot until now. Poured out a lovely gold colour. Wonderful, rich, precise, sweet golden fruit.
White
Poured out with a distinctly orange hue, like an aged sauternes. Not totally shot but clearly poxed.
White - Sparkling
Opened and served over next 2 hours. Gold colour. Minuscule bubbles. Nose of oyster shell, honey and a hint of curry powder. Uniquely silky palate. Rich, elegant and precise. Creamy. Simply perfect. I could bathe in this.

Drunk over 2 nights. Pale yellow/gold colour. Promising nose and attack but still so tight on the mid palate. Attractive, fresh, elegant attack but a base note kicked in immediately that was quite bitter and offputting. With air, it began to integrate a little but I’d definitely give these a few more years.
White - Sparkling
Sept 23 disgorgement. 2 g/l dosage and needed more. Stridently sour. Shame as lovely balance underneath.

Darker again than the 61 and 85. All so reserved. Not quite haughty but close!

Surprisingly, almost silly on the palate but still so young!

Nice, red fruited. On verge of being silky. Continued to soften slightly with air. Very nice.

Also served very cold. Soft red fruit nose. Spicy, stemmy nose too. Perfumed, sweet red fruit on the palate. Lovely and clear wotn.

Smoother, silkier palate. Darker colour, but still sweet red fruit profile. More resolved but still too alcoholic/heady.

Bright gold colour. Nose closed but palate perfect. Elegant, powerful, rich golden fruit, sweet honey, spicy and waxy. Really coats the mouth. So spicy. Great showing.
White - Sparkling
Great bottle. Very similar to the 95. White fruit, balance and class all round.

Darker colour. Richer, more giving. Lovely and precise. So much softer and more open than the 95 but nine of the honeyed richness of the previous flight.

A bit clipped and dry. Palate muted/asleep. Finally, a bit of bruised apple on the nose but incredibly young on the palate.

Light gold colour. Vigorous mousse. Darker fruit profile. Rich, deep with lots of 96 acidity. Better and better with air. Rich, caramel, sweet. Gorgeous.

Slightly darker colour than the 95 BdM. Much more generous, rich and honeyed.

Pale gold colour with very fresh nose. Plenty of mousse initially. Softened with air. Not very giving but last slip finally opened up a bit to reveal sweet, malty notes.

Superb. Dark fruit. Alluring meaty notes of gravy.
