Excellent wine! Pale Ruby, medium intensity nose with good red fruit and herbs (fennel, licorice). Medium+ acid, medium- tannin, with red cherry, red plum and strawberry on the palate. Long Finish. Drink now, suitable for age. I think this wine could make it at least to 2024.

    12/11/20, 10:23 PM - Couldn’t agree more. This wine is on point. 7 Years after harvest and the acid is still there, with nice black fruit. Just opening a bottle and it’s just barely showing signs of development, which means this wine is really well made. That said, I think this wine is at it’s peak and needs to be opened in the next 2 years max.

Cork was in tact but close to breaking down completely. Open and gently decanted removing light sediment. We poured into our glasses and it had very little nose, only light oak. Waited 15-20 minutes and the wine certainly calmed down and you could taste light berry and sage.
All in all, it should have been drank a decade ago. My mistake, just would have enjoyed with more fruit.

No real improvement with age (in controlled cellar). Actually seems to have peaked. Recommend drinking now.

Nobody on CT owns this wine, but this winery is definitely my favorite winery. Their high end Monello is fantastic, but this wine for the price is as good as any wine can be (imo) It definitely has the taste of Priorat wines, minerality, good acidity. This may be the current release for this wine as they do not release their wines until ready. Unless you are in to high alcohol, big fruit wines, give this wine and winery a chance. You will not regret it!

    1/1/20, 10:44 PM - Couldn't agree more! In fact, I visited this winery in 2018 and would highly recommend a visit. This is a family owned winery and a real treat to visit if you get the chance. Beautiful wines and a great price point.

    12/8/19, 6:21 PM - I too am a fan of this wine. Really great California Gewurztraminer, but I don't believe this is technically an "orange wine". These guys only macerate for 12 hours and orange wines usually go for longer and have more nutty notes. That said, I haven't spoken with the winemaker, so maybe he was going for Orange.

    10/29/19, 9:44 AM - Completely agree with this post! The nose is definitely developed and dominated by a great earthy minerality. The palate has strong acidity and has lots of good bright red fruit and even has some nice baking spice on the finish. Tannins are rather light, so given the developed nose I wouldn't cellar this more than another year or two max.

My notes may be biased as I have been a fan of Curt(Sans Liege).

The wine is deep ruby with a no rim variation and pronounced legs.
On the nose the wine is clean with a medium+ intensity of candied cherries, red current, blackberries, cloves, vanilla, plums, white flowers, blueberries, kirsch and cola.
On the palate the wine is dry with and medium+ intensity of ripe juicy fruits balanced with hints of secondary wood aromas. The texture is silky with medium acidity, medium+ ripe fine grained tannin with high alcohol and medium+ body. The alcohol does not come across as hot, but well integrated with the candied fruit and judicious use of new oak, providing a nice body and long finish.
This is a very good wine with a large palate of juicy, candied fruit with enough acid structure keep them fresh and lively while balancing the elevated alcohol nicely. A very approachable, round and long finish. The wine should improve in 2-3 years, but does not appear to be meant for long aging.
