Disappointing bottle. Nose was very off putting- think wet earth. The wine itself was monolithic. Day 2 and no improvement.

Super showing for this vintage and sadly last bottle. Lost a lot of the baby fat in a good way- very red fruited wine and just great structure.

First time trying and unless this was an off bottle, simply not my style. Very extracted, dull fruit, and simply an uninteresting wine.

A bit disjointed for me. It’s very modern, oaky, and a bit extracted. Too much vanilla and quite a harsh finish. The Mythicus bottling is always so good so this is a disappointment.

This is one of those wines that confused the heck out of me. Blind, would have said something like Saxum or SQN. That's not a bad thing either- it is just very modern and nothing like a classic CDP. It was also super young which makes it hard to really assess. Very rich wine overall and they really do a good job masking such a high level of alcohol.

Wine was decanted for two hours. At first, the wine was not showing much and was worried wine was in a dumb phase. It wasn't until an hour sitting in the glass that the wine actually took on some weight and really opened up. A really balanced version of this wine. Served blind would have guessed a more finessed Napa wine. Delicious.

Another great bottle from Morgen Long that went too quickly given a party of four. Just great minerality and tension in this wine; perfectly balanced with a long finish. Wine really blossomed with 30 mins+ of air.

First time cracking a Kinsman wine and this did not disappoint! 2 hour decant and this wine was ready to go. Super fine tannins, great tension, and nice long finish. WOW- super impressed, especially for a 2017 given all the vintage haters.

This went down very easily- super structured and balanced wine. Gave it a 3-4 hour decant before. Really soft tannins.

A decent wine and good QPR. That sums it up.

Day 1- too tight. Decided to put cork back in and wait 2 days. Wine was way more open on day 3 but this wine is still very young. Not sure about some notes that say this is a “light” Syrah. It’s fairly dark. It has all the goods to be great and should have waited to open. Anyhow, 91 points for now but suspect it is way more integrated and enjoyable in 4+ years.

Maybe an off bottle but this wine is way off compared to previous bottles and vintages. Zero acid. Will check back in later but about to give up.

Waited and waited for more, but this bottle was meh. Uninteresting and lacking fruit. Bummer.

Nose tells you right away this can only be Burgundy. Lots of finesse, but quite young. Lay down for a few more years or give a long decant.

Medium bodied Bordeaux blend that had bought after visiting a few years back. Wine has faded quite a bit, which is a bit surprising after 5 years. Lacked complexity, especially a short finish.

Fairly uninteresting wine that was a bit too green for my taste. After an hour open, it started to show a bit more. There was a lack of fruit throughout and not much of a finish. Expected more.

Hands down one of the best domestic Syrah's I have had. A bit of dust at the end that gives it an old world feel. On the spectrum of "ready" I would not hesitate to open this wine.

92+ as this wine is still young. The aromatics are so amazing. Nice tension of fruit and acid and suspect it will gain complexity with a bit more time. Further proof that Jamie crafts awesome wines!

Interesting wine that left all perplexed after an hour of opening/drinking. All around, really well made wine. More finesse than power in a good way. The surprise was the lack of tannins for a relatively young wine. This left us unsure which direction this wine was heading. Worth opening one if you have it. Based on memory, the River Droite is still my favorite Blankiet (but still need to open Mythicus, which is 100% Cab).

Decided to open this after a summer 2019 visit and purchase. First blush- it’s young but it’s down the middle Napa Cab. Throw out all the generalizations about the 2017 vintage. In a good way, it tastes like any one of the great vintages in Napa. Nice contrast of blue and red fruits. Finish is a bit short and harsh. Maybe it softens over time?

I want to like this wine. The nose is great. But it just falls flat. It’s thin, no secondary characteristics, and the finish just dies. At age 7, I expected more.

Just as I remember tasting at Winery last summer. Another great bottle of this Cab Reserve. Oak presence will mellow out with age but wine is already in balance. Tannins are not overpowering and this has a great long finish.

Out of the box, screams Barolo. Dried roses and tar and nice medium bodied wine. With air, fruit fading fast and fairly meh. Dumb phase? Not sure this bottle will ever improve from here. Oh well.

Bad choice to open. New producer for me and maybe this is simply not ready but it’s meh. Very tight. I thought a 2015 may show a bit but not this one. Oh well.

This is really good in itself and off the charts on QPR. Dark wine that has a ton of structure and fruit. Kind of new world meets Northern Rhone. Wish I had more of this.

Only bottle sadly. At 10 years old it was in a really good spot. Great structure and balance to this wine. Not sure if I would say this wine has peaked, but I would not hesitate to open.

Tasted side by side to 2013 Bond Vecina, which comes from same vineyard site. Fun pairing. The VHR was more tannic compared to the Bond and therefore needs much more time in my view. Both wines were outstanding. Surprised to see the Vecina more advanced.

Massively disappointing. Very round and creamy wine that was disjointed and lacked any acid. There were four of us drinking it and nobody finished their first glass. Off bottle?

Felt like opening up one of these given a new producer for me. Was surprised by high acid profile, but liked the structure of this wine. Around hour 3 this wine really started to shine and show its red fruit. Fantastic producer and suspect the rating will improve with some age.

Wow, what an awesome bottle of Syrah! If I were blindfolded I would say a top producer from St. Joseph. Just love the fruit, acid, and structure of this wine. Sadly my only bottle. Not sure there is a domestic Syrah I have enjoyed this much.

A great wine to enjoy slowly- this one is full bodied with great tension, balance, and acidity. Suspect it will age really well but no hesitancy to try young. For me, hands down a top Cali chard.

Nice wine! Took some time to open up but very vibrant wine and well balanced. Good spice and red fruits and just enough acid to prevent this from being just another Sonoma Pinot. On a short list of Sonoma Pinot would buy again (a compliment).

Really enjoyable aged Cali cab blend. Soft tannins and long finish. The nose suggests heavier oak, vanilla but the wine is way softer than it appears. To be critical, a tad sweet revealing Cali over Bordeaux. Not so sure how this will age further so drink up.

Creamy, well integrated, and straight down the fairway Napa Cab. Definitely a crowd pleaser. A bit riper in style versus last time had or maybe palette is changing. And a great QPR.

Tasted side by side with the 2006. Interesting comparison- the 2006 was in a really good place. Both wines had this great perfume nose to them with hints of lavender. However, the 2014 was much more ripe and sweet. Perhaps this simply needs more time, but on this night, the 2006 was far superior and enjoyable. Side note- the 2014 Realm The Bard that we finished with was the weakest wine of the night- maybe palette fatigue, but the wine was very primary, very sweet, and way too indulgent. Nobody enjoyed.
