9/2/19, 2:05 PM - Hello there, Grapenomad. I am sorry to say that your description (chutney and earth...steely with no richness to speak of) leads me to believe that you may have had a corked bottle. I am so sorry, as we have struggled a bit with cork taint and rest assured are experimenting with cork alternatives. From your tasting notes it would appear that you live down under (some wines that you reviewed would be available there but hard to find here) and therefore it would be quite difficult to send you a replacement though I would like to try or to otherwise make it up to you somehow. AND, your market, unlike the market here, is quite receptive to screw caps (slaps forehead)! The grapes were not picked particularly early, nor late - 13.6% alc - and the wine should be intensely aromatic with fleshy red fruit and balanced acidity. I hope you have some similar experience tasting our wine in the future.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
