Little more than a year on, it is still quite frizzy and needs more maturity.

Still very feisty, grippy tannins, lots of heat, good qpr and several more years to go.

Balanced and mature, bot oak takes the overhand, acidity not matching up. Well made but too boring.

First day a bit too tarty - smacks of strawberries, quite perfumed. On second day it has evolved, darker notes have appeared, black currant and spices, initial overt freshness has developed into more complexity.

In its prime. Dense, concentrated dark fruit, coffee, cocoa, leather, quite rich and big-bodied for a Barbera. Excellent with lighter meat dishes, pasta, casseroles.

Saved the last bottle of four to see what some years extra of cellaring would do to a wine like this. Upon uncorking (yes, they used cork for this wine back then), it seemed quite artificial and perfumed. With air the freshness came out however. As expected lower frizziness than the '18, but fruit still vibrant and balanced. Fun!

Good balance between sweet and fresh, balanced sparkles, great value. Had along side the '14, which was a bit less frizzy, but still drinking well.

An old favorite, I would have expected more from this. Takes about 2h to develop in glass/carafe, from quite sleek to more tangible. Still on the lighter side, bright red cherries, some basil, bit of white pepper. Medium+ in acidity and length. Of course enjoyable now, but might be even more interesting in 6-12 months.

Very Jura in style, high acidity, salty minerality, on the dry side, quite long, citrus paired with lactatic qualm. A bit pricey.

On the lighter side, lowing tannins, medium+ acidity, still quite young fruit, black pepper and menthe, a hint of animal. Medium+ length, a bit of heat, quite thin yet still intense.

Too much oak, quite grainy, unpleasant warmth, lacking in length and complexity. Winding down?

Great balance, excellent qpr, both enjoyable now and possible to cellar for a couple of years for more maturity.

Quite light, on the nose some petrol, roses, raspberry, smallcandy. On the palate young cherries, rosemary, bit of white pepper, bacon, leather, splashes of minerality, smokey flint. On the lighter side, not overly long, but well made. 89-90p

On the cooler side, light in color, of course missing the Iberian earth, though well crafted and easily drinkable. 88-89p

Has turned dark yellow, almost brownish. Lots of cinnamon, oily in texture, not overly sweet. Fades very quickly, a bit hollow. I say it’s time to drink up.

Tannins have not yet come together. Marked heat, black pepper, dark blue fruit. Low oak, not that typical for a Merlot dominated blend. A good wine but in no way memorable.

Very rewarding in its category; intense, dense, long, lots of heat, black and white pepper, (overly) ripe red berries, a bit of "kidney". Very much a food wine, to go with meat dishes, lasagne or a casserole.

Great stuff, clear fruit forward, limited oak, medium acidity. I have probably waited a year or two too long to drink this; don’t think it will gain much more from additional time.

Would have guessed this as Alsace. Granted, I have kept this in slightly warmer confines than recommended, but the maturing has still paced quicker than I expected. Golden yellow, thick petroleum on the nose, on the palate yellow apple, saffron, seared butter, slight walnut bitterness. Hopefully keepable for several years but hard to tell which way it will go.

Quite nice, plumbs and cherries, a bit oaky, not that CF characteristic, more reminiscent of Zinfandel, well crafted in any case.

Drank alongside the 2013. More muted, but still nice fruit intensity. Probably doesn’t have the same longevity as the ‘13 but very enjoyable nonetheless and will probably be good for 2-3 years more.

A trusted follower for many years, it is always interesting to revisit Foillard Py. The 2013 is now in a quite open state, intense cherry fruit and quite marked acidity, white pepper, sage. Still has many years to go.

Interesting style, starts off quite mute but evolves in acidity and saltiness, decent food pairing. Will probably be more interesting in 2-3 years.

Still on the young side, but has matured a bit since last bottle. Will try to keep my hands off the last bottle for two more years to see where it goes.

Orange in color yet not so in character. Zingy zest, dark yellow fruit, somewhat salty but not dry, rather marked acidity, medium+ length. Quite special in character, well developed but still very lively. Great qpr in its style. 90-91p

Has developed nicely. Needs 1-2 h in carafe to open up. Dark blue fruit, black pepper, bit of volatility on the nose; on the palate rich black currant - in ways reminiscent of cabernet sauvignon, albeit with less herbacity - green bell pepper, quite feisty yet well integrated tannins, notoverly jammy, surprisingly low oak. Heavily sedimented.
