In the sweet spot now! Some tannins remain and the flavours are marrying beautifully.

Gorgeous, vibrant colour with a wonderful nose and a pallet that is distinctively oaky with hints of vanilla, green peaches, cloves and tar.

Pulled the cork to see the telltale signs of "compromise"... Held the bottle to my nose and no cardboard, must or other foul odours. Poured a taster and wow, this puppy has promise. Let it decant for an hour and it opened like a blossom in the warm summer air. Complex with fruit, tar, pecans and a hint of smoke. The window was declared as 2008-2012, but this is still strong and ready to go for a couple more.

The nose is light with dark fruit and dissipates quickly, the mouth feel is full with a medium body and a wonderful mixture of prunes, salt and minerals that again dissipates, but not as quickly as the nose. Drink before 2018, unless you want to take a flyer.

Light on the tannins but with a good acidity. Very unique flavours that left a favourable impression. Will cellar a few and try again in a few months

This bottle was truly sublime... The nose was very much a Toscana with huge floral notes of "Paper Whites" followed by an evolution into the traditional Orthodox cathedral. We chilled this slightly and the most predominant flavours on the pallet were green walnut with hints of pine and tobacco.
Very much looking forward to enjoying this over the next couple of years, as it does not seem to have much to offer to long term aging.

Enjoyed this bottle very much... Beautiful dark berries with a lengthy finish and excellent balance. The tannins have smoothed out quite nicely and this vintage is in the prime of the drinking window. Could go another 3-5 years, but I would enjoy it now. Excellent QPV

A beautifully balanced dark berry fruit with gorgeous colour and plenty of leg. This is drinking well right now and has enough stamina to go a couple of more years easily. Fantastic QPV

Still young and full of life! Although the alcohol and the tannins are still very present, there is a base behind them with those wonderful grapes that will blend into an amazing experience. Let this sit for a few more years and enjoy.

Delicioso!! This amarone does display more mineral aspects that most others, but we found this complemented the overall taste. There was some spicy notes along with the sweet fruits. Very well balanced and a lingering finish that makes you want to have another tatse.

This bottle had a very similar profile to the bottle the night before, but was much more flavourful. For some reason, it was almost like the previous bottle had been watered down. Beautiful red fruits, no orange this time and a smooth velvety finish. Now I feel more comfortable with letting these lie down for a year or two.

Very subtle nose and light to the initial taste, then the fruits pickup and there is a beautiful taste of orange fruits and a medium length finish that makes you want to try another sip. Interested to see how this tastes after laying down for a few months.

As soon as we peeled the sealer back, you could see the stained cork. Unfortunately, that was the indication that this bottle was indeed "corked". A quick sniff of the contents verified the spoilage.

A very good cab with medium tannins that for some reason lose their presence quickly. The red fruit is wonderful and hints of spice and pepper are ever present. Mellows quickly which leads me to believe this will not cellar long term. Drink before 2016.

Chilled to 7C and PnP... Amber crystals developed on the wine side of the cork and no BO on the initial nose, but the scents were muted. Soon citrus notes developed and the palette detected marmalade and honey with a very long finish. This one may be past its prime, but I can't wait to enjoy another sip or two on a hot day :-)

Initial nose had a hint of fruit and plenty of alcohol. The first taste was a little sour but had some berries and cocoa. After a few minutes of decanting the dark cocoa really came to the forefront with the fruit becoming slightly more complex. After an hour of decanting this really opened up with the flavours blending wonderfully and the tannin's still quite evident. A tantalizingly long finish and the fruits have almost disappeared after 2 hours. This will age very nicely and should drink quite well in a couple of more years.

A gorgeous deep reddish purple hue and a bit of a muted nose on initial corking. It does open up quickly and let's you enjoy the full tannins, plentiful alcohol and the tastes of dark berries, oak, nuttiness with a real "chewy" presentation. After an hour, this started to open up and the flavours blended wonderfully. Has strong aging potential.

Sour... Possibly "cooked". Not 100% sure but this one seemed as though it may have been exposed to very warm temperatures during part of it's journey to my glass. Couldn't really get any flavours or aromas from it unfortunately.

Helluva waft of alcohol on the initial corking with a medium reddish color and a hint of tobacco, graphite and red berries. After an hour of decanting this wine became quite sublime and well balanced with some tannins remaining. Perhaps a good possibility of aging here.

Opened this bottle and the cork showed a very light red stain and no crystalization. The nose was fruity with a hint of tobacco, but nothing extraordinary. The initial taste was very good with plenty of fruit, some mushrooms and a hint of complexity. As it opened up, the mid palate became much more evident with an earthy taste. This was a very good bottle, but not sure if the $40 purchase price reflected the quality vs value.

Enjoyed a bottle of this at a steakhouse in Vegas as recommended by the Sommelier. A little pricey at $125 but it was the restaurant.

The wine was simply amazing... A very deep hue of purple leaning towards red, a subtle nose with dark fruit but on the palate it came alive! Complex palate, perfectly balanced tannins and ever evolving flavours. This is drinking great right now and may go for a few more short years. Tried to find some, but apparently ths vintage was only produced as a cuvee of 1,000 cases. We will be trying to find some for the cellar.

Purchased this bottle a little over a week ago and had a second thought opening it this evening as I usually like to let it rest in the cellar for a while longer. But we decided to try it as we have had good success with this particular wine before. Unfortunately, we were not impressed as it was very disappointing. Upon opening the bottle, the bottom of the cork had little to no indication of wine being in contact with it. A slight red hue but otherwise the cork looked untouched. The first nosing left no discernable aromas or flavours and the first taste was extemely bland. There were no indications of a spoiled bottle, just a pathetic attempt at winemaking. The wine was thin, pale, flavourless and almost void of anything but alcohol. We will not be purchasing this wine again.

Avery interesting wine with a unique flavour profile... The nose is ample with plenty of red fruit and a slight hint of smoke, the leg is bountiful and the flavours include cherries, plums, tobacco and red meat. Ready to drink now and for the next couple of years. An excellent wine at $13.42 CAD.

Displayed many of the typical amarone characteristics, just not in the volume one would expect... Raisins and cherry were there, but slightly muted. Nicely balanced and did not require a decanting. When price is considered, this is a very good value DOC wine.

Not the fruit bomb that the '05 is, but still has plenty of presence, a wonderful nose, a similar profile to other Zenato Amarones and will do well with a couple of years in the rack.
