Popped and poured. Ripe and juicy, sweet cherries, provence herbes, white pepper. Open and friendly with lots more to offer! Superb.

Truly great Aussi Shiraz. Emensely ripe and textured with no overripe pruniness. A menage of black berries, pepper, cured meat and well intergrated oak. No way near the peak, will easily last another 15 years in a good cellar. A bit of sediment, decant! Note to self: Buy more. Great!

Tighter and more structured than the 2009, but just as delicious. Tightly knit, blackcurrant, mineral and gravelly notes, smoke and graphite. Decant min. 2 hours. Drink now 2030+ Excelent Pessac and great value!

Had alongside the 2010. The 2009 is a full bodied Pessac, displaying notes of blackcurrant, graphite, and tons of deliciously smoked meat. Complex and opens up nicely with a good decant! Much more fleshy and extrovert than the 2010. Both great though, with a slight preference for the 09. Great value! Drink now-2027+

from half bottle. Had over three days (surprised it lasted that long!)
On day 1 & 2, an explosion of mango, passionfruit, mango chutney, honey and all things golden. Sky high sweetness balanced perfectly by equal acidity. On day three, coconut joined the game. A truly world class and absolutely fantastic wine, and for the quality, potential and longevity great QPR!

A few years ago this was a great wine, the 2010. But the quality has seriously declined.

But it's funny how they manage to ship 2010's of this wine to several importers in my country, DK several years after the vintage was released. Also it's funny that they changed the design of the bottles, but the vintage hasn't changed. Go figure....

Deeply coloured, nearly opaque core. Absoulety fantastic nose, cassis, cranberry along with savory, meaty, toasty notes, with a slightly floral topnote. The palate is medium bodied with pronounced intensity of flavours, red and black fruit mingled with beef jerky. Good stuff. Juicy acidity and smooth tannins. Drink now and any time the over the next decade. 92+

If only all medocs were this well made, and reasonably priced! This offers classic bordeaux with purity of fruit, integrated, moderate oak, med+ acidity and smooth but present tannins packed in a medium bodied wine. Classic claret, none of that new-world-overoaked-overripe-power-style. 90 (the last point it gets for its price) Drink now-2024

Stewed cassis, licorice and chocolate on the nose as well as some alcoholic heat the first couple of hours. The palate is medium bodied, with a sugary sweetness and a medium long finish, with a bit of heat. Decent lbv at the pricepoint, but it is clear why vista alegre ports are priced as they are.

mineral, focused nose with lemon juice, green apple and peach. Beautiful acidity balancing the residual sugar (around 7 g/L). Good stuff.

Side note, it will easily keep for a week or more under cap in the fridge (if you can stay away from it)

Medium bodied lbv with medium sweetness. Nose dominated by blackberries with a bit of unintegrated alcohol. Palate is tight, medium bodied, with low concentration of flavour. Drinkable, but not memorable. Somewhat disappointing given the quality of the vintage, and the overall success of the house (even though it's mainly based on tawnies)

Nose with chocolate, rasins, blackcurrant, mint, vanilla with some floral notes as well. Full bodied, smooth tannins, yet with a structure that i think will allow it to age for at least a decade. Good stuff, and extremely good QPR!

Dark, crimson with slightly evolved edges. Nose boasts with red and black fruit, licorice, lavender, herbs, blood and toasty, sweet oak. Palate is full bodied, with a mouth coating texture and tons of salty licorice. Approachable with a decant and will probably keep for 10+. Serious wine that will impress any dinner guests. 15.5% alc.

Silky, smooth Amarone with no sharp edges. No trace of the 16%, full body, low acidity and tannin. Chocolate, strawberry, ripe cherry and a touch of bitterness. Not for the cellar, but pleasant. Some RS, but not over the top.

Powerful nose driven by red berries and a savory oakiness. Palate is med(+) bodied with singing acidity throughout, but lacking in mid palate weight and finish, hence the "mediocre" score. Sure it has potential for ageing, but to me it is not one for the long haul.

Disgorged in 2012. Apple juice, toast and lemoncurd. Fine mousse and bright acidity, balancing the fruity sweetness. Benefited from a few years in bottle, more harmonious.

Syrah dominant nose with pepper, bluebrerries, blueberry jam, blackberries and licorice. Medium bodied, slightly lacking mid palate weight, with a juicy fruit profile. Gorgeous nose that, just like Xavier's Rasteau, saves this wine. 91+ and drink within 5 years.

Tight on the pop. After an hour in decanter, opens up with fantastic nose with cherries, sweet spices, barnyard, violets and minerality. Palate is medium bodied, with med+ finish. Decant 1+ hour, and drink over the next 5-8 years. Nose saves this wine for now. 91+ (don't quite agree with Jeb D's 93 points, but still a good wine representing great value at < 20USD (100 DKK))

Pitch black core, ruby edges. Obviously very young, but surprisingly smooth. Dark, brooding nose with blackberries, blackcurrant, tons of oak, vanilla and coconut, new world in style. Palate is soft, slightly plump but packed with flavour ending in a long smooth finish. More "new world" in style, but delicious nonetheless. Keep a year and drink over the next 10.

Had over two days. On day one, gorgeous nose with raspberries, toasty oak and lovely perfume. Palate is lacking depth, and finishes short.

Day two, the nose is a little off, with burnt rubber and compost. The palate though has smoothed out, and opened up giving more depth and charm. Lacks concentration of fruit for further development, drink up.

Short note. Had over the course of 4 hours. Opened up tight and closed, slightly alcoholic. After 3-4 hours, seriously good, full bodied, good concentration and depth, a little heavy, some residual sweetness. Give it 3 more years, and it will be a superb CdP, at a reasonable price point. 91+

Medium intensity nose dominated by fresh, red berries, cherries, raspberries, and a hint of rose, oak and rubber. The palate is med (+) bodied with high, refreshing acidity and high but very smooth tannins. Lots of Nebbiolo character. This is good for pnp, but benefits from a short decant. Looking forward to second half of the bottle tomorrow. 89 and great QPR (100 DKK = 18USD)

Day 2: Nose has opened up showing more perfumed red berries and rose, and the palate has put on some weight. Seriously good wine at the price !

Intense and rather complex nose with red cherries, sweet tobacco, cedar, rose petal, powdered licorice and leather. On the palate it's tight, structured and a little rustic, showing mainly primary notes, medium (+) intensity and medium finish. The nose saves this wine. Decanted two ours.
