Dark ruby. Strong legs. Medium intensity developing nose, dark fruit, blackberry, meat. Medium acidity, medium tannin, quite light body, smooth, blackberry on palate, meaty. Medium alcohol, medium finish. Lovely actually. Enjoyed. Should buy case, would like to see with more age.

This wine was top CDP 2011 in decanter jan 14 with 18.5/95 score. It changes continuously over an evening in a decanter, there's lots of savoury interest on the nose, tapenade, thyme, there's dark plum fruit with occasional hints if chocolate and liquorice in the background. The texture us smooth and mouthfilling and a great savoury finish with a little fine tannin giving it grip. It's still a bit tight to start, but it's drinking ok now, try again in a couple of years

Edit: Really softened on day 2 and can see potential. Tobacco on the nose which wasn't prominent on day 1
