The best Failla I can recall. Great balancing acidity, good food wine. Still has a bit of RRV overtness.

Classic Volnay from a great vintage and top producer. What a pleasure to drink and contemplate Burgundian greatness.

At this point a bit cumbersome and monolithic. Drink up.

Nothing short of a fantastic Pfalz Riesling. A beautiful, complex and contemplative wine. What a pleasure to drink. These rank, in my book, as some of the top white wines in the world.

over- aggressive bubbles. I tried it in a coupe glass and it helped. Simple, tangy with an immediate, short, clipped. The only mediocre bottle of Bollinger I have had.

Top QPR. Great for what it is and interesting to drink. Not for fruit forward lovers. This is a drying style.

This wine came in a neat wood, four bottle Bordeaux display case from Costco. The effective price is $8 per bottle. The bottles, wooden case and labels have to be fifty percent of the cost? My bottle had a Wine Enthusiast tag that they gave it 92 points. That does note bode well for WE’s credibility. But if you consider the points and the QPR, maybe they are right. Think about the horrible CA wines at the grocery that cost $8 and taste like they were made by a chemist who prefers to drink Pepsi. This taste like a structured, albeit simple, French wine. There is no flaw, no overt fruitiness or fake oak. At this price point oak chips/staves probably would be out of the budget. If you like restraint, French, with a bit of crunch you should be able to choke it down.........

Oh, and this also has a gold medal from the concours de Bordeaux 2017

This bottle was not as good as the prior ones I have consumed. It improved as it warmed. Prior bottles drunk younger were excellent colder.

This is the dry version and is an excellent example of Traminette, perhaps the best I have had. The winery is a great producer. Impressive.

Am I getting a hint of Brett, adding another dimension? Fantastic, reminds me of the 88 Beaucastel, the best Turley PS I have ever had. Most of them are monolithic, simple wines. I assume this was made by Ehren Jordan, if so it is one of the best wines he ever made.

Oak has integrated and this had a big, briary, cedar hit. Not subtle, but fun to drink. I would say it’s past being food friendly, but drink friendly.

Balanced style, not really Californian or Burgundian, its own style. A bit simple, but it is the basic wine from a high end producer, so I guess that is what you get at this price point.

Super structured, a lot of tannin, decent remaining fruit. I enjoyed this wine, but it is not for the faint of heart. Years of life left and should improve.

Scrumptious, delineated Zin. Good food wine and fantastic balance. More pursuit of balance than the majority of Paso wineries.

Lovely, structured Meursault, a bit atypical, just a hint of almond as it warmed. Quite citrusy with along tangy/honeyed/tangy finish. Contemplative wine. Not for those looking for international polish, more traditional style.

One of the best CA Mourvèdres I have had. Beautiful, expansive aromatics. Deep, but balanced Mourvèdre flavors and a counterbalancing tannic finish that I love. It’s lack of polish adds another dimension and is what makes Mourvèdre (and Bandol) such a great wine.

I am finding that the Bedrock Heritage wines need many years to come around. This is the most improved I have had yet, but could improve with time. I am not sure it has sufficient fruit to maintain its balance with more age, but we shall see. I would say this wine is not yet ready to drink. I decanted it for a bit to start, knowing what I was dealing with.

Crisp and refreshing Chablis. A pleasure to drink and with a bit of bottle age has gained some nuance. Definitely a food wine. Nice balance.

Drank after a bottle of 82 Lafite, and it held its own. It picked some nice nuances with air but I would avoid a long decant as it may fade too quickly.

While I am a bigger fan of their PV blanc over their Corton, this wine showed its pedigree and was an amazing wine. Atypical balance for a CC, showing great restraint and polish, as Briailles can do. The opposite direction of most CC producers. Fun to contemplatively sip. Paired it with clam chowder and it was a sensation. Purchase at the winery on release and cold cellared since. No sign of advanced age.

Lovely old Bordeaux with telltale, classic Lafite profile. Holding up well, and should decline very slowly. Price tag on the bottle from the original purchase was $89.99!

Nice, light, SC Pinot Noir with decent balance. Not complex, and easy drinking, but you can still buy low end Bourgogne or Village Burgundy that is in a different world of class even at this price point.

This is a subtle, austere Chianti that has good aromatics. It is a style I love and consume with Italian food. If you are looking for fruit and extraction, this wine is not for you.

Fruit has dried out a bit, dry tannin finish. A touch of complexity. Nice balanced Zinfandel, for the age of 2016. I have had some great Papera Zins, from other producers. I am not sure why WS thinks there wine is worth 50%+ more than the top Papera producers (Carlisle, Bedrock). Corporate ownership equates to terrible QPR.
