Powerful, full-bodied merlot-dominant blend produced by the team from Chateau Rauzan-Gassies. The wine shows dark ruby in the glass with perfumed aromas of fresh rose petals, stewed strawberry, cherry cordial, eucalyptus, and wet gravel. Evolving over time, the palate opens up to reveal concentrated notes of blackberry, coffee bean, and cigar box. Drying, tightly-wound tannins and mouthwatering acidity are followed with a grapefruit peel note on the longish finish.

Good value everyday wine. White peach, un ripe pear and yellow apple nose. Relatively short finish but tasty and perfect for a hot patio

With two hours air this was still flat. Four hours in it opened up to dark bing cherry note and stone. The nose was muted throughout.

Two years have gone by since my first bottle of the case and the wine has fallen apart in pieces. Every new bottle is worse than the previous one. Fruit is absent. It is all about lactic notes and dry oak. I should have drank it way younger.

My last bottle of many since 2016...already great but even better!! An excellent vintage...delicious! Not too sweet, not too heavy, not too powerful...smooth and perfect balance of fruit and spices. Really enjoyable. Well-done with an excellent QPR. 92+

Cherry/cassis/olive/mint at first opening, umami comes out with air, Tannins start slightly clunky but they round out after about an hour, finishes with decent length. This $10 wine is aged in Bourbon barrels which gives it a unique, soft flavor. We liked it enough to go back and get a case but the unique flavor means it's not for everyone. We would NOT take it to a party.

A generic Bordeaux from a fantastic vintage, and for only $47cad in BC. (The most expensive place to buy wine) Nose of underbrush, candied plum and blueberry. Palate is nice with notes licorice and mocha.

45th TWIGS Dinner - "Italian" (Rancho Naidoo - Coffs Harbour): Served blind. Screw cap, 12% alc.
Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave.
Mid yellow hue. Smells of tropical fruit mainly, with a herbaceous note. Light to medium palate. Initially tastes a little sweet, but this reflects the generosity of fruit. It's certainly dry and fresh. There's a hint of bitterness on the short finish.

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like mineral, stoniness, blackberry, red currant, black currant (cassis), violet and rose. It tastes like mint, lavender, thyme, red currant, black currant (cassis), blackberry, pine and bark. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

On the nose, definitely starting to pick up that 'aged' smell. Some balsamic notes with herbs and red fruit. On the palate, good acidity and tannins are integrating nicely. Medium body. Eucalyptus, herbs, and cherry. Comes across a little bit hot giving that cherry cough syrup effect but it's not that bad. Good depth of fruit and this wine could probably go for another few years. At this price point this wine is a winner and is really great with food. Glad I have more.

Nice. Similar to last note. Slightly acidic upon opening but with an hour or two of air, the wine became much rounder. Tasty and such an excellent qpr. No doubt its origins. Will develop nicely.
