Now this is a tasty wine - not much except a little heat in the nose - shades of yum around the edges - somewhat short, but more-ish.

It was a cold night, so this was maybe drunk a little on the cold side, but nice, very nice.

Nice - very nice - arguably a tiny bit on the sweet side, but that was OK under the stars on a cold night.

Nearly 100 years old, but still a truly amazing wine - pale red and full of life - edgy, subtle Ramisco flavours, although somewhat short.

Somewhat hot grape in the nose - slightly translucent red/purple - quite big in the mouth, some nice edges, no particular flavours I can put my finger on (the bottle says hay, cherry, gamy (sic), and peppermint (I think gamy was supposed to be game)) - pleasant, but not especially inspired - somewhat short.

Another Furtiva Lagrima to mark another sad passing - this time of Fluffy, the gentlest soul ever to grace the cat kingdom - cheers flufster!
Gooey slow legs - deepest evil purple - quite hot in the nose - big but not overpowering in the mouth, fair yum - long finish - very fine wine, as is fitting.

Nice wine, very different to "usual" Portuguese fare - subtle and restrained, but delightfully cheeky - lovely balance, heaps of yum, and a fine finish.

I managed to score a triple of these at auction - I was hoping to share them with friends, but, well, we're not allowed to leave the house. Very fine wine - getting towards the end of its life, but still with some miles left - complex around dark fruits, long finish - yumm-

Restaurant Pop and Pour.
Incorrectly priced in this restaurant at 15€. The weather is cool, so this was at a good temperature, and took very little time to open up - in a great spot right now - lush and deep, some plums - fine finish - very nice wine indeed.

Bottle variation? Variation within me? Every time I have this wine it's a radically different experience. Today the salt is back, but just a hint, like slightly salty licorice - not entirely unpleasant, but, today at least, not an especially enjoyable wine, although finishing long.

Drunk over several days from a very old, t-stoppered, bottle.
As seems to always be the case, best on day 2 after light stoppering in a whisky decanter. Lush, fairly sweet, peel, some nuts, honey, some heat - excellent finish.

Purple with hints of pink at the rim - not much other than alcohol and some grape in the nose - fairly full in the mouth, dark red fruits, but somewhat rough and ready right now - fair finish.

One of my favourite Syrahs, these Juromenhas hit the spot without being overly "difficult" or "challenging" - nicely balanced at the lightweight end of things, but fruity, yummy, and with a fair finish.
