Just saying.
8/23/22, 2:57 AM - Thanks I have the choice between exactly these two wines at a restaurant I just booked so I guess I'lll try the Comtes, then!
1/20/21, 1:57 PM - you use adjectives as superb, serious, grand cru and are guessing vosne 1er. Thank you for the note, but 88 points seems extremely low for such an assession.
8/8/14, 1:10 AM - This must have been a bad bottle. There is absolutely nothing dark about a good one. The one we opened yesterday was perhaps the brightest champagne I ever had.
6/25/14, 1:36 AM - perhaps it would be better to mark it as flawed instead of a point score, since they were oxidized.
1/8/14, 10:47 AM - high acidity is not important for a long life. RE: 1959, 1976.
11/11/13, 12:10 PM - because most small producer rosé are simply crap, or interesting for a unique style more than outright quality. Classical vintage rose from small producers are a true rarity, Paul Bara Special Club is about the only one I can think of.
10/20/13, 5:29 AM - I have had many bottles of this and it is consistent with previous ones. This was the second from my case, and I see I also scored the previous bottle similarly. This was most likely a 2010 disgorgement. I love Pol Roger vintage, but I think the NV is not up to scratch.
9/25/13, 4:12 AM - I'm not so sure. There was recently a tasting of 20+ vintages of Dom. Leflaive wines in Norway, and 70% of the bottles were reportedly oxidized.
7/14/13, 1:58 PM - I cellar most my NV champagne for at least a couple of years. Too bad so few put the disgorgement date on the bottle so you'll have an idea what to expect. I find the pol reserve a bit too sweet, but the acidity should catch up to the sugar with age so it might be a good idea to lay them down.
6/21/13, 8:21 AM - Ive also had two out of three 'sloppy' bottles
2/14/13, 10:42 PM - This was the 2008 disgorgement. I had the 2009 disgorgement in 2010 when it was first released and I was disappointed by it. A lot of yellow fruits and not nearly as much power as the 2008 and later disgorgments, sorry... I had the new label 2011 disgorgment at the domaine on Monday and it was amazing, even better than the one in my note.
2/2/13, 10:10 AM - I agree, and regret buying a 6-pack. It is clear that billecart does not treat this cuvee as a flagship at all.
2/2/13, 9:03 AM - If this gets 96, what would their Richebourg get in 2005?
